Nicolas please try to enrich your vocabulary "chic" "gorgeous","perfect" "wow" doesn't mean nothing you need to educate yourself more about Interior Design and Architecture ( to call it a "thing"? )not just from books learn to draw, learn how colour influence the style, do a small course in Interior Design so you can expand your knowledge (which is limited at the moment)......You were in an ARABIC country so Islamic Architecture and Design is a religion and culture based (tapestries, craftsmanship)Please don't use Moroccan as an example because me and many people can see that you don't know. PotteryBarn (most of the products are made in china) is expensive and questinable quality. Please take it as a critic, perhaps 2024 can be a good year to grow .....

Whoever decorated that hotel did a wonderful job of making it culturally appropriate but also timelessly elegant. The sitting room of the villa, especially, had that timeless quality. It could be 1920, or 1960, or 2024. The furniture they chose is exquisite. How beautiful, thank you for sharing it with us.

Never in a million years would have thought to put the bed in the middle of the room but it looks amazing! I love the placement, and a little desk behind the headboard. What a great idea!
I’ve done that myself often. There is absolutely no need to place everything against a wall. Makes rooms look stiff and uninviting .. be creative and go against the grain! 🙂
My sister was an architect, and she went to work for I. M. Pei straight out of architecture school. I do like his work. Later my sister moved to Kohn Pedersen Fox because she said they joked that I. M. Pei really meant I Don't Pay. She got a very substantial pay raise at KPF. The building you visited is very beautiful. Glad you have enjoyed your vacation.

The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort is simply stunning. I cannot express how much I appreciate you took the time to tour and your commentary was spot on, it's an architectural beauty.
Those hotels were definitely high class, and the attention to detail was superb!!!! So glad you both had a wonderful vacation. If you ever bought huge lanterns as you were looking at, you would need the battery-operated candles. Hope you have a great weekend, and please give Sophie a hug.

My boyfriend and I have a date for May 30 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. It was designed by Frank Gehry, a contemporary of Pei, and while I have toured the concert hall some years ago this will be my first time seeing an actual concert there. I am quite excited! It is interesting to see how the building you showed, while vastly different, carries similar architectural styles and ideas. One of the things I am excited to see is a fountain made out of broken pieces of Delft porcelain. Lilian Disney, the widow of Walt Disney, contributed $50 million to the construction of the concert hall (which is why it is named after Walt Disney and refreshingly is not a corporate tie in). Gehry noted her love of Delft porcelain and so made the fountain in her honor. I think it’s awesome that you enjoy elegance from many years ago as well as from modern times!
I love Pottery Barn products. A lot of my furnitures, rugs and accessories are from there. Every time I went to the mall I would pop into Pottery Barn to get some inspiration.
I just adore pottery barn. It’s one of my favourite shops in the world and I’m so happy you took a video of it. It’s just so aesthetically pleasing it’s unbelievable bless you.
Where do you live for a Pottery Barn to be one of your favorite shops? All major US cities and most 2nd tier US cities have a PB. I assume non-US. Having a PB furnished home in the US is somewhat pedestrian and jejune. But only because they're so common. Granted, some things are nice.

Im pei also designed a building for jackie Kennedy and a high rise in chicago. The fragrances of the middle east are known as ouds and smell fabulous. London in Oxford street has an oud store near regent street that smells wonderful!

Sad that they have pride in showing their buildings but cover up their woman, such as the group of woman covered in black robes, veils and scarves, who walked through the field of vision of your camera. The architecture is magnificent and how interesting the fabric/fashion exhibitions must be. The piece of jewelry you showed is spectacularly beautiful..

I love Johnny Depp and he wears Sauvage! I absolutely love it!! I can just imagine that fragrance is exactly what he smells like!! If only I could find out for myself! I’m not a groupy so to speak but I could definitely most certainly hug him like a bear and never let go!! There aren’t many real men anymore and Johnny is the epitome of a true man and he seems of Sauvage!! I used to do the makeup and hair for friends from church and I loved it! I told them that before the day and evening of the wedding but a fragrance that you’ve never worn before and for the rest of his life every time he smells that fragrance he will most assuredly think of YOU! I really like the design of the hotel as well. Reminds me of Raffles in Doha. Compared to Burj Al Arab in Dubai it is much more elegant and less over the top.

Nicolas - In the 1980's in Dallas, Texas, we were blessed to have I. M. Pei design both our City Hall and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The sad yet interesting thing about City Hall is that it was originally designed like it was going to topple forward. Some unenlightened people on the City side thought the structure looked "unstable" so Pei designed in the two massive "support" columns on the front. The columns actually support nothing, and they are hollow inside with only emergency staircases. On the front of the Symphony Center -- oh, the acoustics in there are absolute magic. I had a friend invite me up there when it was first opened as they were striking a show and I stood up at the very top, very back, and I could clearly hear every word of normal conversations being held on the stage. Pei was a genius!
A stunning video, Nicholas! The architecture of the museum is incredible; especially the spiral staircase- which I love :) The hotel decor is incredibly luxurious. I agree that a piece or 2 of dark furniture would work well in your flat. Thanks for sharing so much with us!

Loved the vlog Nicolas ! I love the dark wood too ! Like you said , it is very chique with gold or brass! And like everything else it’s come back but I think it’s here to stay , as it is timeless !
