I've officially started crabbing again this season! I have to finish up the FV Southern Girl, my crabbing trailer, and get my crab pots over to the marina to load up on the boat. The crab stand is done and opening this Saturday for the first time. It's been weeks of prep and we're finally throwing crab pots in the water!

Have you ever thought about using a rake on the side of the boat to grab the pots? Basically you ride past the float, the rake grabs the line and pullls it up, much less work, and man power.

Luke you need to do your shirts/apparel with DTF yourself and not preorder a ton from Cali. If you’re interested let me know, I’ll tell you how to do it yourself and pocket all the extra income…seriously…could be as much as $5-10 per shirt in your cost. Nothing in it for me just wanna see yall succeed.

hey Luke, as an old man, to a young man, get a small note book to keep in your back pocket. it's difficult to get in the habit of writing things to remember each day, but it keeps you from doing the work twice, or making multiple trips.😅 i hope you and your men have a safe and bountiful season sir.

I'm not saying that you are my favorite creator, you are the most relatable to myself being a self employed carpenter using 30-40yo wore out stuff. I love everything you have going on and I think the only thing you need to change is the number in your bank account. Your ambition and absence of fear to fail needs to spread to some more folks. You're giving inspiration to others and everything you do helps someone else get a little less scared of doing the unknown. Keep up the hard work crabber ('s)

Vice Grip Garage, Cleetus McFarland, Gentry and Sons Trucking, MN Millenial Farmer, and this channel are my main ones I watch consistently. I enjoy guys that start off as regular folks like you and persistently chase success without letting it go to their heads. Remaining humble and doing the right things when no one is looking is paramount. Your t-shirts are sharp, maybe you can get ole Cleetus to tell you about ship station and take your merch online. Being in South Carolina, I am not exactly around the corner and can stop by. I know you have to crawl before you walk, but just food for thought there.(no pun intended)

All these channels are perfect examples of getting too big and losing some audience. Take Cletus. It used to be something regular dudes could do, then it was 50k dollar parts, now it’s fucking helicopters. Out of touch. I really hope this doesn’t happen to Luke. The comment about buying crabs to sell worries me though. Is it going to become Luke the Crab Stand owner instead of Luke the Crabber?

My favorite other RU-vidr besides you is MN Millennial Farmer. I think I admire watching you goes so much because your videos are over edited and satisfying to watch. Simply put, you both just show what you do in a day and the daily chores and jobs. You show off how hard you work and in the end of the year you both get to see your hard work pay off with your harvests.

Luke I watch a lot of you tube and there are a lot of good ones, but I will tell you this, your show is one of the main ones if not the only one that I really look forward too the most. Your outlook on life is what all the other good ones bring to the table. Great job!

Some would be Matt's off-road recovery, smartereveryday and off kilter fishing here in North Carolina. Most YT channels that I watch regularly have a cast of characters. It's not what they do, but the interaction between the people on camera. There is a car RU-vidr named Mat Armstrong. He started with just himself on camera. He's a positive guy like you. He works hard, but his channel took off when he incorporated his Dad, girlfriend, friends and camera man into the content. Luke that boat stand is sweet man. I think you should definitely extend the counter all the way down not to the bow but to the doorway of the cabin. Can't go wrong with plenty of counter space, Then once you have the counters built you should build up a little form around the counters and just pour some clearcoat polyurethane as a countertop you can put cool stuff in there before you pour the polyurethane like hooks and fishing stuff. Heck You probably could even take some big number one males set them on the counter and then pour the clearcoat polyurethane in on top of them. I don't know how that would actually work but you could always get some fake realistic toy crabs and do the same thing

Simple Living Alaska, VGG, Matt's Off Road, numerous gardening channels. I've really enjoyed this series of fixing the boat and the stand. It has been much more like how my husband and sons fix things around the house. My Dad worked at an auto repair shop, and we went to work with him quite often. I still love the smell of bondo. I really enjoy watching videos that are more real and less staged. What you do looks so much more like real life, and you're positive and upbeat, which is key when genuine. @Luke McFadden just a small tip for you. You're Vibration issue with hose and cable... if you take foam pipe insulation like they use in plumbing for houses, put that on your hoses, zip tie that, it should help protect it from rubbing through. Easy to remove for repairs, and cheap. Hope that helps?

Matt's Offroad Recovery (wholesome, family friendly mechanic stuff and offroading), Do It With Dan (definitely not when the kids around, mechanic stuff and moto vlogs), Grind Hard Plumbing Co. (more mechanic stuff, plus cool random builds), Cleetus McFarland (hell yea brother), and various random Gaming channels. Oh plus this one, clearly.

Most people including myself watch rebuild videos... everything from watching you build your crab shack boat to watching sailboat rebuild videos or car building videos.

Luke, other than you my two favorite youtubers are Farming with Duffy AG and Country View Acres. I enjoy Agriculture and have enjoyed watching and learning the things that crabbers do.

FarmCraft101 and C&C Equipment. Both down to earth and straight forward. No over dramatic bullshit. You’re doing a good job man.

You should put a live tank on the crab stand to show off the crabs. And show off all the treasures you find at the bottom of the bay

Letsdig18 is a heavy equipment guy that does a bunch of pond builds in North Carolina and he never asks for subscriptions or thumbs up he simply posts videos of his hard work and I think it’s just that simple.

Ironic you ask...I was just watching Sailing Parlay Revival, with Colin and his crew. You and Colin always hit me as incredibly approachable and comfy on camera. When it comes that natural, it makes you instantly relatable. He has amazing content! I've been following him for close to 8 years now! Check him out!

Crab stand is looking great! You should put some type of gutter (maybe J channel roof edging) on the customer side roof edge. In a rain storm its not going to be pleasant for you or the customers with a water fall to do business through.

Another favorite- Jacob Knowles: like you he makes his craft interesting, and has an appealing personality. Though typically I just watch the short videos.

Would love for you to take an approach like heavydsparks or gold shaw farm. I love the honest insights into their job and industry. The good but especially the bad / unexpected. Also love the break down videos where they go though cost and profit. While still being very entertaining

Love you and your wife. Great job. you remind me of me and my old friend Joel Teshka we used to put things together like your doing. Best of times. I'm 65 now and my friend is past. Now I take interest in seeing you do all the same stuff with the scrap stuff you have. Love it. Some of the stories I could tell you. Your my inspiration to keep going. My motto has always been "Never give up". Have a beer for me. Kenny.

Luke, when you've got seized hydraulic lines like you had, leave the motor mounted (as you figured out), and then instead of a 6 foot pipe, just grab a 5lb hammer and hit the box end of the wrench. The impact will get it off a lot easier than a bar.
