I’m happy to see the Fig cleansing balm on there! I picked it up last year because it was door 1 on the YesStyle advent calendar and the product I want3d to try most. It was a fun winter product. I think your comparison to Farmacy is spot on- that’s my usual go-to.

It is a fun brand but I know people do make fun and think I'm From is not a serious brand. ..Started with the Rice essence then the Mugwort, moved onto Fig balm (heavenly scent), have fun with the essence and now i just got the I'm from Vit fruit so can't wait to use..Sounds like I like this brand no?!?! I love the honey and rice lines. My faves were the honey serum, rice serum, rice cream and rice toner. Tried the honey mask and fig cleansing balm but not a fan as I don’t like wash off masks other than clay masks, and the fig balm was so hard and diffusion to emulsify and rub in. My mum would love that honey mask though, she loves honey.

I think you'd really like the mugwort cream! It's lighter than the rice cream but still more moisturizing due to the shea butter. I have the same skin type as you and it's great as a day cream for transitional seasons, and perf as a summer night cream (I still need a lil heft due to the AC!)

Thank you for reviewing, though this has been a series of ups and downs. I'm glad all the favorites I had worked for you and glad our opinions matched. I'm also glad that most of the opinions I left back in December were accurate including the comment about the mugwort mask feeling weird with the leaves. I'm disappointed that I found a typo in my last opinion post when I went to check (which will be there for all time because I'm too lazy to fix it) and that you liked the cleansing balm which I'd been avoiding based on reviews and will now have to try next time I make an order on Wishtrend since our opinions matched so closely. That might be a while though since I have 4 honey masks, 2 mugwort masks, 3 mugwort essences and 4 rice toners (tbh the rice toners weren't my absolute favorite but they came in kits). If you don't mind me asking, how would you compare the rice cream vs. the Tatcha water cream?

Oh you're set for a while haha! Don't blame you either - did you stock up in a sale? I might do the same, although I don't know how long I can wait to purchase the Ginseng serum 😆 I can actually answer that question! Just got in a sample of the water cream so I'll do a swatch comparison and report back. I know I liked Water Cream, but I didn't love the price haha

Okay I'm back. So the Water Cream initially feels lighter and absorbs into the skin ridiculously fast (..I do understand the Tatcha fans for this reason!) Rice Cream is thicker and requires a bit more massaging into the skin. Both feel almost the same on the skin and I'd say are on par for moisturizing properties

@@AliceintheRabbitHole it was pretty fast actually. Probably within the first 2 weeks i noticed my scars were a bit lighter. And then after that i started using the Sunday Riley 15 percent vitamin c along with the toner and it helped fade them alot too.

So I share your same skin type (super dry sensitive acne prone) and I know this video is older but I did want to say that the I’m from rice toner is soooo nice in the summer as a layering toner in between steps (kind of like a mist) I had been recommended the beauty of joseon rice toner bc it’s more hydrating for drier skin but I found it didn’t give me the same brightening, evening, and just overall benefits I noticed from the I’m from ❤

Just a tip their mugwort essence literally helps and saves my eczema, red skin and rashes so so much, I have the rice toner too but I find it too harsh on my flare ups, (it works amazing for my healthy skin areas tho it's still a great buy,) but the mugwort essence seems to cool my skin as soon as its put on, and it cools and calms flare ups like nothing else I've tried. I seal it in with a moisturiser but the essence is what gives the soothing , cooling hydration that my skin craves. If you have rosacea I would highhhly recommend the mugwort essence over any other product! I've also tried their honey mask and it's def a fave of mine too, and works amazing on compromised skin also ,(better than the rice toner imo for immediate soothing) but between the honey mask and mugwort essence on immediate soothing, the mugwort one wins hands down. The honey provides like velvety soft smooth skin but not near as much immediate cooling, soothing as the mugwort essence. 💕

i’ve tried the i’m from rice toner and cream and the i’m from ginseng eye cream. i wasn’t impressed with the rice toner or cream. they weren’t horrible, but they weren’t great. i have dry skin and the cream is okay. i use it with rosehip oil to boost it. i do think they are fine for the days my skin is sensitive though. i prefer the haruharu toner though. the ginseng eye cream was too rich for my eye area but works well as a face or hand cream.

I really wanted to try the ginsing serum but wasn't sure about the sent but imunni said it was the first product she fell in love with and it was lightly sented she is a Wishtrend product formulator and Wishtrend and dear klairs and I'm from fall under the same company I have fell in love with all those brands and still so much more I want to try . I use that real techniques flat orange handle brush u know the one in the sets u can never find use for works perfect for the I'm from honey mask.I got the thank u farmer rice toner and really enjoying that one it's more hydrating then the I'm from rice toner I enter change on days with the hydrating toners like laneige cream skin and then active toners on opposite days

I've only tried the vitamin tree water gel from I'm from so far. It's lovely, I keep it in the fridge and use it as extra hydration between steps in my routine when I need an extra boost. Plus it's nice and cooling when you just want to calm your skin down. I do have the rice line in my wish list but I haven't quite done it yet. I am definitely getting the honey mask though. That looks lovely too. I'm not too interested in the other honey products as reviews say it's very silicone-y. I am using the cosrx propolis honey cream and toner at the moment and I really like it for day time use. Thanks for the review. Excited to try the honey mask asap. 🌻🐝

I've got minis of the cosrx that I have to try at some point this week - have heard so many good things! Oddly enough, I see myself repurchasing the Rice Cream over the toner. I was watching Gothamista today and started wondering if the rice toner is less appealing to me solely because of how humid my climate is - that could certainly be a factor in it!

Yeah, I suspect it might be similar. Actually, so is the TonyMoly mochi toner (except it does have fragrance) - that one I can confirm! I still haven't tried the Laneige because I suspect it won't be a favorite for my skin type - and it's pricey for that suspicion LOL!

As I'm watching this review, I remembered I have a half used Mugwort Mask in the back of my cabinet. Wondering if along with the ingredients list, you might consider adding how long the product is good for after opening? Like the use in 12 months labeling on packaging. I think it could potentially be helful for the skin enthusiasts who like to try a lot of products and end up taking a while to finish a product up.

Hey Alice, I don’t even know if you’ll read a comment about a video from so long ago but I only just caught this and you made me laugh because I DO have that product that I keep dropping and it’s much worse than yours. Mine is a Missha eye cream from their han bang Geum Sul line which is like a paperweight! I honestly have no idea why this thing is so heavy but it’s obviously glass and then it’s overlaid buy a gold metallic coating And it weighs a ton! I keep dropping it and cracking it and the top jewel adornment 15:29 broken off and it was so pretty as well…….😂 in any case. I love your Total brand reviews. They’re absolutely amazing and I have to agree with everything that you said about the Im from line one thing. I’m surprised by though is that I’ve never really heard you review much of Missha and I have to tell you that some of their high-end products are so beautiful they are I reckon close rivals to Sulwhasoo I know that you might think I’m crazy saying that but a whole new Han bang product range has come out - obviously pricier than the regular products but really special with elegant imperial court style packaging 😊

Love the review! I like the rice toner as a toner, but LOVE it when I soak some multi layer cotton pads and use it as a sheet mask. It soothes my eczema prone skin, and actually gives me a glow! Also love the honey mask, I even tricked my kids into tasting it! 😅

Love this review Alice! I’m a huge fan of the mugwort series, honey mask is on its way and I can’t way to try it. I am now using the ginseng serum: the fragrance is heavy, it goes in a sweet brown sugar direction. I think they tried to compensate too much for the earthy ginseng scent. Otherwise this serum is very hydrating and absorbs very quickly when I use it over a mist layer. Complete fail foe me has been the honey serum, just a disastrous product! I though I could Use it as a primer type of product (silicones are in the very top of the ingredients list) but it did not absorbs and made me look way too shiny. Complete fail

Thanks so much for the info! Hmm, that's an odd choice for the brand to make. I suspect a lot of their success has been NOT using fragrance, so I'm puzzled as to why they chose it for some products. Granted, ginseng does have a smell...but idk, I don't think it's that bad?

I always stayed away from any bee products because I have an allergy to bee stings (really large, as in bee sting on arm =whole arm swollen, painful itchy bee stings). I really want to try the honey mask, but the *bee* *venom* aspect makes me weary. Also, how do they get the venom? They gotta kill the bess then I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️🥺

Hmm tbh I probably wouldn't do those together myself just because of all the extra cleansing (but take me with a grain of salt as I don't use the TO peel myself! Too harsh for my skin type, even though I totally understand the appeal haha!) Perhaps you could patch test and see how it goes? ☺️

What other moisturizers do you prefer under make up. Local or K Beauty thank you as always XOXO. LOVE the Ginseng Serum!! Very little fragrance.

Tbh there’s a lot to choose from these days! Mary & May’s Idebenone cream is a nice thicker moisturizer that is still nice under makeup. Juno moonshine is an old favorite at this point. (Those two are on my mind as I’m considering calling them “dupes” for Bobbi Brown/Charlotte Tilbury moisturizers!) Another option is the Peace Out Repairing Moisturizer for skin that needs healing - a lot of these can be frustrating with makeup, that’s an exception. Good Molecules priming moisturizer is also great for something much more affordable!

The mugwort essence dries out my skin every time - I cannot use it. Such a bummer I paid so much money based on the reviews I’ve seen about it. I have dehydrated & dry skin, but putting this on makes my skin so much more tighter in a very uncomfortable way.

idk if you have iherb affiliate links but i find the brand to be cheapest at iHerb, the mask used to be like $1-2 for sample size (1 oz), now it's like $4-5/oz but its still cheaper than buying a full size jar , sometimes wishtrend has cheaper retail price but their shipping is pricey! I would also love to know if you've ever tried the missha artemisia essence and how that compares to im from?

True, iHerb is a great option! Sadly I've only ever tried the Missha essence, but I actually was looking at their products earlier today. I think it's that they are kind of a HUGE brand, and there's something almost overwhelming about that to me LOL. Hence the smaller selection of I'm From = less intimidating. Idk if that's an odd perspective but it absolutely tends to be true for me!

@@AliceintheRabbitHole I totally understand, theres a ton of options and trying to figure out what's good seems like a ton of work. it's like when you go to the cheesecake factory and its a 20 page menu with random local ads in between each section (mine are prom dress ads which always made me laugh) vs a place with a prix fixe menu and some seasonal specials. :P

Do you rinse off the scoopers? Because hyagenically you would think you should but then there's water in it, so I worry it will dilute the formula. Or am I just overthinking it?

Oh the scoops? Tbh I use them once, put them in the wash pile, wash and clean them all at once, then spray them with isopropyl alcohol to flash dry them …but like. I don’t think you have to. I am funny about tools (makeup brushes too, same system 👀🤣)

So think about what ground up plant looks like (picture maybe…oregano from your spice cabinet.) and now imagine you make an extract from that, wherein you put the plant matter in a base of water and humectants. Basically, the extract is much more diluted plant matter vs the dry herb. Does that help?

@@AliceintheRabbitHole totally off topic, but I can’t remember if it was you or Susan Yara’s vid I watched recently about Pyunkang Yul products in an anti aging routine. 🤔 Now I’m thinking it was probably her but you maybe have reviewed some of their products? Maybe I dreamed all of this since CBD is giving me really vivid dreams about the most random stuff. 😆 ANYWAY, I just got their essence toner, moisture serum and nutrition cream. It’s killing me not to open the bottles because I’m already trying out so many other products. I want to use them with “I’m from” fig cleansing balm and krave matcha hemp cleanser. The “I’m from” honey mask will get used the night I get my hands on it.

I know this is random but does anyone have any recommendations for a firming cream that will actually show results? I know asking for a miracle 😂 any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, tbh most creams aren't capable of "firming", in the sense that they don't quite change the structure of the skin. If you're asking for the most potent anti-aging ingredient though, it would be a retinoid (specifically retinoic acid for max potential). Retinoids CAN change the distribution of thickness in the skin such that it resembles that of a younger person, and this is quite well documented in the literature!

@@AliceintheRabbitHole in your opinion do you think Differin works as well as Tretinoin? Ive seen a few you tubers say to use Differin since its cheaper and that it does the same thing. And i know its better than nothing, but i just think Tret is probably better for anti aging right?

Tret is FAR more studied for anti aging. Yeah they're not the same (I actually talk about this more in my retinol video if you want to see that). However, I don't necessarily disagree with the advice to use Differin. It IS more gentle, and still provides some of the benefits of tret - most likely some of the anti aging activity as well. Tret is just stronger ☺️
