Think about designing and making an outdoor shower that you could leave for good, that you would be able to wash the dogs in outdoors.

I think the tent move is a great idea! You and your dogs need your own space.

This make huge sense to me...when my house was being built, living with someone else was stressful!! Camping out is a huge improvement to living in someone elses space!! Having your dogs will be the best part! They are your pack. Great plan!! Love it!!

Staying right there will help with security as well. Tools being stolen is a huge problem with any construction site.

Actually, since you'll be gardening a lot and doing outdoor work quite a bit even after the house is done: I would make the shower semi permanent! How many times do gardeners and outdoor workers yearn for a cool shower and to not track dirt and stuff into their house! Anyway sounds cool, tent living, and more being independent again!

Jared buy two cheap 6x8 fence wood fence panels cut in half one section will be your walls for shower attach to existing fence. Other half of second panel can be your door, lots of luck 🙏🇺🇸

As for caps for the barrels you can buy then off line, that's what I did. And the shower, 1 or 2 wood fence panels cut in half to build your walls and concrete blocks as your floor to allow proper drainage and maybe a recycled piece of tin roofing to cover the pot

Jared my heart is with you. I had to let my 2 small dogs go from Florida to Pennsylvania to live with my son when my husband died back in 2021 and I came to stay with my daughter and her husband. They have 2 large bulldogs so I couldn’t bring them here. I fly up part of the year to visit. When there this past December my oldest dog Teddy who was on heart murmur meds had to be put down while I was there and it broke my heart. My other little guy Baxter took it extremely hard when I flew back end of January. I am 78 years old and couldn’t take the bitter winter any longer. I cried the whole two and half hour flight back home. I live a gypsy life since my husband passed away and I hate it. Unless the good Lord brings me a miracle and I meet someone who has a home my life will never be right again. Except for my bedroom furniture and clothes etc my life is in storage nearby. If I was younger I would have found a way to never have to be without my little ones but sadly it is what it is. 💔 I went through stomach cancer and during recovery from that fell and broke my hip and taking care of my husband but when he had to go into a dementia facility there wasn’t enough income for me to make it on my own. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your precious babies. It’s so wonderful you have your parents there and with Dads help I pray it won’t be much longer until your house is under roof and totally enclosed so you all can start enjoying your beautiful home! I bought a horse washer to use as a shower up in Alaska, our water froze up every winter so I would have to melt snow for bathes and dishes. The horse washer heated the water via a small propane (1) pound can, we would get about 10 showers out of each bottle and use appx 10 gal of water for each. I think I paid in the neighborhood of 230 dollars for it, but it was so worth it. The one I bought was made by Coleman, but there are cheaper ones. There are point of use ones also that work off of 120. Cold showers are a bi###h. Afterwords you can always use it for dog baths and camping. I used mine for the horses of course, lol. We used it for 7 years and it was still working quite well when I sold it. Don't forget to put a tarp under your tent to keep moisture from coming up from the ground. Your little home is going to be lovely, looks like you are doing all the right stuff for future add ons if wanted. You've kept my old cougar interest and that's perty good.

Hi , haven't watched for a while but here i am . So , i bought privacy panels, or room dividers . They fold up and you can form them into a room . Ifbyou want a large room I'd get 3 but they're on amazon and very in size . I got the 4 panel and i think it's 6ft tall . I painted them with house paint to make them waterproof cuz they're woven wood . Good luck on your mission 😊

I so understand wanting to be with your dogs and bring them inside with you, I still miss my boy so much and it's been a month. Jared I'm so happy you are doing it your way. The tent might seem weird to some but I get it. Motivation is different for everybody. I'm loving how the chickens follow you everywhere. Let's get the huge tent up and get building then. In the mean time there is probably more baby goats arriving. Yay! Peace.

You can always place the shower in between the shop and the tent. Tent, fence, shop and a shower curtain would cover all four sides. Melanie is going to have to visit often to get her Baxter cuddles in! Love your work ethic!

People are so pampered that their so against living simple. Been in a tent alot. Was raised camping. You could use your wood for a 3 wall shower with a shower head pipe. Something simple. Even 12×12 paver for floor. Use them for garden-walkway after house built. Your a very effectiveness person who gets it done cheap. Live you attitude keep smiling 😊 blessings

Maybe when you build your shower you can frame it with that lumber. Use 2 ft X 2 ft patio pavers for a solid floor thats sturdy, waterproof, and easy to clean encase you give the dogs a bath too. Make it 4ft X 8 ft. That way you can build a dry side to remove your clothes and to get dressed afterwards too. And add a bench to sit down on to take your leg off. Then another side as the wet side to shower in using a shower seat so you don't fall when washing your foot. They make solar heated, pole type stand alone showers you can hook a hose to like for a prewash by a pool. Use the dogear cedar slats to side your shower. So its pretty. And put a springloaded door on it so the door stays shut. 2 eye bolts & a strong spring would work. Not too expensive for a pretty shower that looks great. Hope these ideas help. You could also pee in a separate bucket 🪣 add water to dilute and pour it under your bushes & around your trees for good fertilizer for them. Just don't use it on your food in your garden.

Getting the building braced up for storms that might show up in that Deep South TX, not far from the gulf. Can’t believe George doing so much yo help.. looks like he is enjoying it. Love that rooster crowing. Jared, you are so good about keeping the construction area all picked up and organized. Getting a lot done today. I can smell the fresh mowed grass from here… it sure is thick n green! Gosh.. going to camp while building on your property. You will be up at day break. Just be sure to get comfortable mattress for the tent. Can’t wait to see it all set up. You did some of that in OK.. until you moved south. So glad you got new brace for your leg. Sure will be good for having to go up n down the ladder. Gee you had that shower in OK…

I like it in a tent and mine is a stand up one got inflatable matress. Inflatable soffa. Camping unit to store my food and gas cooking stove and mini fridge plus camping mat inside the tent. And couple camping chairs. More like Glamping. But at my age it a bit more comfort .

Get a large square water (tote like you used for water catchment) cut one side out and you have a hard floored and side walled drainable shower (that will be easy to see any critters in) .... block it up how ever you like.

You should have a roof over head fairly soon. Consider pallet walls for your shower enclosure. By adding scraped (from another pallet ) pieces .. it could be made “privet.” I do suggest a roof or partial roof though. I understand this is temporary- so it doesn’t have to be “grand” - just functional.

I have a 10 x 16 tent for just me when i camp . I put up a sheet in the corner to make bucket bathroom and i have my sleeping side and my sitting area and then use one corner for storage . You can get two water totes and stack them on top and make a shower . Cut you an opening and you have a shower.

Put a shower tent between the carport/workshop and the new tent and stake it down. Counting the privacy fence, it'll be protected on 3 sides. My Daddy had one he used as a winter/rainy day smoking area and it lasted for years.

It will bwe good for the pups to have there own space again and also give you something to strive for. Tent camping is great for a few weeks, but after 3 months you will be tired of it which will give you the determination to complete it. Well done.

All you have to do is build a platform for the water barrel and run you pcp pipe out of it with a shower head and it will be gravity fed

You could close in the patio and shower in there… too water to drain out in lawn.. what I’d be concerned about is a potty… do you have a septic in ? Be careful!

That tent could be used for a base camp for hunting and fishing. 👍

You can also use pallets for the walls since it’s not going to be permanent

Build a deck for the floor of your tent/house! It will rain and what a mess that will be. Use pallet wood. Think about building a roof over your tent! It can later be a carport to cover garden supplies/ shade for dogs.

Home starting to look good

You can always take the tent to Granny’s‘ seat it up for hunting.🇺🇸🐻

For outdoor shower build a 5’x5’ Frame 6 ‘ tall with bolts on top to use a tarp with grommets around it.

You can live in tent very comfortably. You can have AC and heat. You can build a kitchen.

Your dogs will enjoy being with you too.
