I could be completely wrong, but my first thought as I listened to this was, “IT’S ABOUT ANXIETY IT’S ABOUT ANXIETY IT’S ABOUT ANXIETY!!!” Again, I could be interpreting this all wrong, but… I think that because I myself have struggled with anxiety over the years, I’m making lots of connections with the lyrics. Here’s some examples: *I get hung up on grand productions, now I can’t sleep* - overthinking everything and getting overwhelmed by the chaos of your own thoughts, so much so that you can’t relax, and you can’t fall asleep. My anxious thoughts usually happen at night, so BIG mood right here! *I want my headspace when it wasn’t so addled and cynical* - remembering how you used to be when you were younger; too young to think so much, too young to feel this anxious. A deep longing for a time when your mind wasn’t always so worked up. *I’m tired of running circles as if I’m not in control* - feeling trapped by “The Anxiety Loop”; never being able to escape the anxiousness, never being able to feel calm and relaxed. You’re just trapped, and you feel as if you can’t control what’s happening to you, and you feel as if you can’t control your own mind. And then, as the song progresses, it shifts to you- slowly but surely- fighting back, regaining control of your life, taking back what anxiety stole ( *You took my life, better say goodbye as I take it back* ). You’re done with this. Anxiety is *done* controlling you now. I don’t know… that’s how I interpreted it :) (Oh, and the visualization is GORGEOUS, by the way) Ack this was so long-

I absolutely love this song. It paints a whole story about the singer. When I here this song I think of the Love interest of the protagonist. The love interest is constantly used and put through so much by the protagonist, always seen as lesser and pushed aside for others. I see the love interest joining the villain and taking back control of their life from their lover the protagonist. I can imagine them showing up mid fight only to help the villain instead of the protagonist hence the “I’m not here for you” and I love it.
