Interestingly enough, the nonstimulant ADHD medications Guanfacine and Clonidine are taken at night and also assist with sleep. They're also popular for treating POTS - especially the hyperadrenergic type. They're also used off-label to treat anxiety, since they calm the body's "fight or flight" response. (Stimulant ADHD medications can sometimes aggravate POTS.)

Hoping you find a way to feel calm! It's so hard. I kept telling myself that I could talk myself out of it, or I just needed to be stronger.... But I needed extra help. Meds aren't the answer for everyone, but it's made a huge difference for me. Its a weird feeling to feel calm for me haha!

Good topics , say you're just sitting there in pain . Take your index finger touch on your opposite hand the ring finger its knuckle specifically. Pain goes away. Let go pain comes back. Keep doing it till you forget about taking a n.s.a.i.d. Off n.saids permanently now with this ridiculous though powerful technique.

I’ve been on a super low-dose of one for a week and it has definitely helped. Give me more clarity and more peace about living chronically ill along with obviously therapy and prayer and all the other things I’m doing the Therapist did say I 100% do you have ADHD as well but she said starting with the antidepressant and just excepting the fact that this might be it as far as, not getting 100% better it will help me to be more clearheaded even with ADHD . I’m so glad you took that step. It’s like a big weight lifter . I’m sure that’s how I feel. I’m on such a tiny dose that it’s doing just what it needs without any side effects except for not as hungry and actually I can go to the bathroom for once.

I’m 8 months into my chronic illness journey (just counted that out and it doesn’t actually seem like it’s been that long) and I just had to ask for an up on my meds. I can’t do it by myself. I’m also auADHD so it’s definitely not easy finding balance & routine with chronic illness. Continuing to try new things and looking for answers is what I’m having to do but it’s always comforting to know I’m not alone!

Antidepressants are garbage and will make you sicker and damage your brsin. Eat right and take a high dose of B1 - Benfotamine. Get your bloodwork and check your tsh levels.(thyroid) and know your #'s, hemoglobin a1c, etc.... You're labeling too much! You're fine!!!

I've had my bloodwork checked many times recently. :) I am so glad you've found help without antidepressants!! Right now I plan to keep using these because they are working well for me. I have tried for years to "talk myself out" of being depressed or anxious. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Medication is what I feel is right about for now. I'll let you know if anything changes. Thanks for sharing this info though! It's helpful to hear everyone's opinions.

Hi I'm new to the channel and just wanted to say I also swear by magnesium... iv not been feeling as great lately along with more chocolate cravings and then suddenly remember I haven't been taking my daily magnesium. Top tip if you ever crave chocolate it means your body is crying out for more magnesium that and also the muscle cramps. The way you describe how you feel on your new antidepressant is exactly how I feel when I take cbd regularly. I do.try not to take it all the time tho as it hasn't been out long enough to know if there are any longterm negative effects, I also take a relatively low dose. It's good tho as it doesn't have any withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking it. I mainly take it in the 1 to 2 weeks leading upto my period to help with the pms emotional symptoms or if I have a particularly stressful day or event coming up.

@@Dulcimerist that’s agreed because they all are different. You have your SSRIs, your SSRI, your MAO‘s the Wellbutrin by itself and its own class but she also stated she was on something for sleep so that makes me wonder if they’ve also put her on an antipsychotic I have already tried all the second generation antipsychotics, they only made me want to kill myself even more gave me acathisia and tardive dyskinesia you sure as fuck don’t want those, and that can come from antidepressants as well. That’s why I’m wondering, but she had a good experience with because some of us have tried things and have gotten severe negative symptoms that have remained long-term after trying them. So I’m wondering if she’s on an antipsychotic and she’s saying that it’s a presses her appetite so I would assume that might be the Wellbutrin or one that’s in that class
@Dulcimerist
@Dulcimerist 6 месяцев назад
@@Filthycoffin Antipsychotics for sleep are horrible! Thanks for mentioning that. The manufacturers of Seroquel were fined half a billion (with a B!) dollars for marketing this antipsychotic for sleep, when it was dangerous and not approved for that purpose. They're also facing multitudes of product liability lawsuits for the damage that Seroquel caused. Seroquel and Wellbutrin combined would be a disaster, since Seroquel blocks dopamine receptors and Wellbutrin increases dopamine.

I was scared to start taking them too, and was amazed at how the ‘right’ medicine could help with regulating my brain a bit more. God uses different ways to help us all. They gave me the most popular medication for sleep for pediatric patients, even though I'm an adult. It's Guanfacine, and it works wonderfully without the side effects of typical sleep medications. Guanfacine also treats my POTS and is a nonstimulant ADHD medication, so it's also helping me with other issues with this single medication.

I need something now I have anxiety panic attacks just have no idea which one to try and no one understands me and adults kids think I'm nuts they don't understand how much I have suffered with Sibo for years. I'm also having really bad acid reflux no doubt I will need surgery for it so all natural supplements really make my reflux worse and I had covid in Oct that made it worse.
@Dulcimerist

For anxiety and panic attacks, if you don't like the risks involved with benzos, you could ask your doctor about Guanfacine or Clonidine. They specifically calm the body's "fight or flight" response, which is a direct counter to anxiety and panic attacks. My teenage daughter was a mess with anxiety and panic attacks, but Guanfacine was a miracle for her. She was even able to stop the medication two or three years later, and her anxiety and panic attacks are still gone.

On antidepressants the loss of appetite is temporary where on a stimulant every time you take it, it reduces appetite. I only take mine on days I work. On days off or weekends I break from it. I was terrified to go on antidepressants in 2020 also, but I needed it to survive and get out of the darkness! I came off them (I was on a SSRI & NDRI) June of 2023. They along with my family saved me! 💕🙏🏻 Thank the Lord!

@@Aimee_EstherI will say though you may have no appetite now but get your bloods done regularly.. blood sugar ! And if you get an appetite you will get a massive one and eat X4 what you usually eat . Can cause weight gain and I've seen you've a diagnosis of EDS now . And I'll tell ya if you gain weight and someday come off antidepressants you will verry probably haveX200 more subluxations of things you didn't think was possible .. that's what happened to me . Phychs can be dangerous so watch yourself .. especially the fact you have pcos aawell ? If I remember correctly?? Bitta friendly heads up ... I started from 8 ½stone of sheer muscle used to do parkour skateboarding lots of mad shit .. I was given 25mg of quetiapine and I slept 28 hours CLEAN same position fell asleep In the day woke up when it was bright I was super confused lol .. then got referred to psychiatrist ended up on 11 tablets a day . Lost my inner monologue completely all my pitches for music was easy 16 + stone .. they didn't care once they get their paycheck + commission for every pil they threw down my throat .. I'm now offf everything bout 2 years and from 16+ish stone I went to 6 ½VERRYY, fast ! And I noticed I Was sooooo bendy I have instability now in most of my joints because of them poisons.. I mean yes I had been subluxing joints since I was 7 .. but years apart now I wake up nd things are out move a wring way and have to relocate everything and by worse Is my neck that has instability which Is a dizziness I can't even explain ! :/ then I've added POTS that has gotten 100000000 times worse since also living in mold for 2 years ... I've now moved country lol the heat sooo much better for pain but the heat is fun for pots ..I'm slowly getting myself back but it is gonna be LOOONGG LOOONG YEARS OF CONTINUOUS NEURO TRAINING ....be wide, Wish you the best most authentic youtuber I've ever come across keep it reaal but keep it safe 😊❤

But if you really struggle with depression or panic disorder or any other mental issues to the point that it tremendously affects your life it is worth trying. I'm happy that your antidepressant works good❤
