The popular boy just showing up to the bait shop at 7 am buying worms and heading immediately to school is one of the most subtlety hilarious plot oversights I’ve seen in awhile

I have always thought it was hysterical that the popular girl was so obsessed with becoming homecoming queen that she literally decided to hand Rosie over to the murderous dictator who took over her country. Like dang, that's actually legit evil and the movie doesn't really explore that.

Funny how the hispanic main character princess has no accent, but the hispanic villain general has one...

I’m surprised nobody, including Danny, is confused over why she was getting crowned Queen when both parents were still alive

Can we also talk about how her actual name was Rosalinda and the disguise name they went with was Rosey

I find it funny how the logic is to save a princess from a murderous man is to send her to some high school in America of all places😭

As a latina, "arroz con pollo" is like the LEAST FANCIEST MEAL anyone can ever prepare, lol. It's yummy, but not fancy at all

I always thought it was fucked up they sent a south Asian princess (who’s probably never experienced below zero temperatures) to an Arctic wasteland, while Rosie is just sent to an American high school because she demanded it.

I feel like Danny isn’t really familiar with common Louisiana culture like going to school with a freshly purchased can of worms or having your homecoming dress delivered by your bus driver

As someone who grew up in Louisiana, I can assure you that every 12 year old girl here loved this movie. We found it weird that it was so obviously not filmed here, but the lack of accent and such didn’t bother us. It was just nice to see Louisiana people on tv living normally and not as toothless hicks.

Its so funny how Danny almost always includes the iconic “squishy bones”

One thing about this movie that has stuck with me my whole life, is when the popular girl pours yogurt all over Rosie or something and Carter says 'they're making a fool out of you' and Rosie stands up, shoulders back and says 'I'm no fool. and she cannot make something out of me that I am not' and walks away with dignity. Iconic moment time to be sure.

The scene where Rosie cooks for them is made infinitely funnier by the fact that she just made chicken and rice. Carter is like "That's too fancy" and it's literally chicken and rice. They just used the Spanish translation to make it sound like some intricate cultural dish

I’m guessing that the answer to why there are so many princesses in the princess protection program is that they don’t just help princesses, but all noble women ( duchesses , ladies, countesses,queens, empresses ,viscountesses, baronesses,marchionesses).

I love how Danny always goes into great detail for the first 2 thirds of the movie but then quickly glosses over the conclusion

Imagine being friend zoned by your own dad.

I like how the more clearly Hispanic girl was cast as the American tomboy, while the nonbinary mixed-race Demi was cast as the Vaguely-Spanish princess.

Fun fact: the princess was good at bowling because it reminded her of her time in her homeland, mainly rolling the decapitated heads of peasants who dared to question the royal rule into their deattached limbs through her palace gate

The way Danny’s sticking with the “IM RADIO REBEL” title just with different Disney channel movies movies is commitment and I love him

I love how they send her to literally the most dangerous state to live in when the whole movie is about protecting her💀

as a louisianan i will say this is a fairly accurate representation of life in southern louisiana. the accents aren't noticeable, because they aren't there, though most born louisianans DO have at least a slight tang, it's not unreasonable for millenials/gen z who live in relatively big cities to have almost unnoticeable accents. so yeah! movie still got a lot of flaws tho. feels great to be represented, albeit weirdly

i know it’s a disney channel movie with a budget of like $10 and it’s not that serious, but it’s so funny that the “transformation” demi’s character undergoes as she enters basically the most extreme form of witness protection is like…they curl her hair a little bit 😭

i like how the popular girl thinks that if rosie dies, she’ll be homecoming queen as if they wouldn’t make rosie homecoming queen by default because she was literally just assassinated.

The Princess Protection Program is a half-assed version of the Witness Protection Program even though it's an international organization protecting royalty instead of a federal organization protecting average people and criminals. They just gave her a nickname and moved her out of the country even though her name and face is in international news, even some random mean girl at her school figured it out.

Did the bullies ever get their comeuppance? Because after that, they should not be walking away without handcuffs. A lot of Disney bullies do awful things, but this is a whole new level. Essentially committing a war crime by meddling with government orders and assisting a dictator is kidnapping a Princess of an ally nation to then be forced into a slave labor camp until death… all to win Homecoming Queen. This is a whole new level of low and I am surprised that the UN did not get into a heated argument on whether to arrest them for life, strip them of their citizenship or surrender them to be punished by the country that they have now made a sworn enemy of. This is just ludicrous. 😯

I love how the squishy bones joke is still here after so long. Usually RU-vidrs will just forget or never repeat a joke again but Danny actually sticks with them. It feels like we have our own inside jokes.

As someone from rural Louisiana, homecoming actually is a big deal to teenage girls. And foreign undercover princesses can expect to be exposed if it secures the homecoming queen position of another candidate. Those are just the rules here

I think it would have been fun if, when the general showed up to the high school homecoming dance, he ended up being crowned homecoming king/queen, helping him realize that it is more fulfilling to be loved than to be feared

a group of mean popular girls finding out that the new girl at the school whos getting all the attention is secretly in the witness protection program and trying to get her exposed to the criminals hunting her to eliminate her as a rival for homecoming queen sounds like a funny plotline in a scream queens type black comedy show

This movie was actually filmed in Puerto Rico! The practice coronation scene was done in a historic building called Casa España and the school scenes are in a school called Colegió San Ignacio. It was a really big deal back in the day that these Disney Channel stars where here and Disney was doing a huge casting call for extras. I and a couple of my friends auditioned and some of my friends are actually in the movie. What a time to be a teen 😅!

Danny and Drew literally both had drastic changes on their hair, One got shaved, and one was dyed blue. Now both of their hair is back to normal and cut short. I knew you guys were the same person!
