The wait is over, I'm finally able to publicly reveal what I've been working on these past few months...
I'm recording an album at the Inchindown Oil Tanks, the site of the world's longest reverb! They're a disused WW2-era complex of 6 underground oil storage tanks buried in a hill just north of Inverness, Scotland. After they were decommissioned and drained it was discovered that the reverb within them lasted a shocking 112 seconds. In September 2021 I was granted access to the facility, and since then have written an album designed specifically for the acoustic properties of the tanks.
This past week myself and my buddy Joe drove up to Inverness with a car full of recording equipment and spent 2 days collecting recordings for the project. This is by far the most challenging project I've ever worked on - but I think the material that we've developed is something really special.
