I understand your decision. Lack of customer service and not standing behind their own grades are both deeply concerning issues. They need a new CEO to step in and save the company. I don't see BGS lasting another 3-5 years with current management

Couldn't agree more Josh. I have walked away from many companies for similar reasons. I think it's a smart move on your part.

Totally understand and I've been feeling the same about my BGS slabs especially with how little business they get now. If the company phases out, everyone's gonna rush to liquidate or crack those slabs to send elsewhere

This is unfortunate, you have lost this much faith in BGS. Do what you have to do big dawg. I still like the BGS slabs the most and want to finish a personal collection goal with them but might move over to CGC after that. Keep ya head up

Beckett has done a great job at being free advertising for other grading companies. Other than the VHS/DNA division they acquired (great people/great service) they are the most wet sandwich of a company I’ve ever dealt with.

Ever since the second the time magazine dropped I am waiting for greenies 30 copy graded return.

My issue with becket is when I look at their pop charts it looks like an absolute mess. Grading is going to go through a massive paradigm shift in the next couple of years. AI entering the grading market will complete change the minimum expected stanards, a good place to start looking is with TAG grading. Just scan a QR code on a TAG slab and you'll get a plethora of data related to that card. Each cards surface is like a snowflake or fingerprint when you look close enough, so they can identify any card even if you try to resubmit. This will address resubmitting issues as well as helping identify stolen cards. That's just where we're at now, in the early days of AI. A few years down the road, we'll be detecting card care gels and rubs and tons of altered cards will be deemed Authentic Altered. What i'm trying to say, some 10's right now will be worthless under AI grading and the ones that aren't altered will sky rocket in value because true AI certified 10's will have a huge population drop.

The main point of this video is that beckett DOES NOT stand by their grades like other grading companies do. Why would ANYONE want their cards in a case where the company grading it cant even guarantee their own grade? Your black label slab gets scratched? Good luck cause the next person looking at your slab might not think it deserved a black label. What a joke of a company.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure PSA also has some conditions when it comes to reholdering slabs. Idk if I can really blame them with all of the cracking of slabs for various reasons that happens in the hobby. I'm definitely sorry though that you feel like you have to sell your grails though, that really sucks.

The premium on BGS has always been stupid imo people spending thousands some times tens of thousands more on a card with a different label that says some joe schmoe deemed it as pristine is just ridiculous the only thing I’ve ever liked about them is the quality of the case.

Start off with - I get it, I had an equally bad experience with CGC and haven't graded through them since...I have purchased their slabs though because I buy the card not the grade or the grading company specifically. IMO there really isn't a grading company that exists that is hands down the best. Each of them have strengths and weaknesses, to "swear off" a grading company is probably a negative EV play in general. We won't have a grading company sweep the market till we have a company that can be completely transparent with their process, good customer service, etc. etc. basically take the good out of all these 3 companies and slam them into 1 company. Till then, every other video I see on youtube is about how grading companies are shady, bad customer support, bad experiences, Grade reveal videos that either got undegraded or over graded ( these are really funny to listen too the content creator say 'this definitely couldn't get a 10, rolls over a 10 ). All of which just shows how pointless grading is....that being said, I along with many other collectors enjoy the 'validation' that comes with having a high grade on your cards. We just got to bend over and take it now and then.

I don't think this is a 'right now' mindset. This whole Beckett situation is permanent in my mind. I'll never submit or buy a slab from these fools as long as it exists.

Get out of BGS as fast as you can. The company is gonna go OOB within the next 3 years and any BGS slabs will be worthless at that point

Bro i live next to bgs and I can't talk to anyone. But they did recase a very high end card cause it was cracked, so maybe they just had a bad day, who knows, but I've had several cards that are clearly 9.5 come back 9s

I find this insane that to your point they are acknowledging they’ve misgraded the card and for QC purposes won’t reholder it. Crazy from a business mindset as you’re putting it out there that any grade is worthless and they won’t stand behind it. A black label is only a black label in the mind of one grader and not another…. And it’s on you not them. So bizarre. I only grade with PSA, and have avoided paying the premium for any black labels.

They are clowns, did the same to me on a fossil 1st edition Dragonite 9.5. I'm done with them also. PSA all the way, CGC we will see.

lol. “PSa 4liFe!!!” Yeah, PSA has never had any issues like; damaging cards, authenticating fake cards as legit, authenticating fake autos as legit, trimmed cards, inconsistent grading with the most simplistic grading scale used and terrible customer service. Lol, no issues at all with PSA on those.

Do you know if you don’t like how these grading companies are treating you and giving you low grades just stop sending cards to them you’re only losing money if you wanna make money by the card already graded and then flip that for a profit instead I think that’s a better investment of your money

So you got a 9.5 and you want to regrade to a 10 but keep getting a 9.5? Off centered, whitening , etc…if you want a 10 so bad send it to psa or CGC. Ohh you’ll get a 10 for sure with all those defects!! 🤣🤣

Ace grading starting to look like a good option. They are harash at grading but show you photographic proof of your cards grade. Id rather them be harsh and consistent.

What do you think grading is? It's all bs. All grades are the opinions of some guy. That's it. Graded anything is a horrible long term investment.
