Hey all! Things aren't going so hot this week. I'm all in for some slow living but not like this! I've come down with some sort of illness that has sapped much of my energy. Filming the projects at this little house off grid always takes so much more time and effort than just completing the projects alone. Moving cameras, repeating movements, planning the next shot....it all takes energy that I just don't have extra of this week. So things just got real quiet at the weekend homestead.
So this video is going to be short. I'm going to use it more as a check in to say Hi! I'm still here! I'm sure I will feel better soon and things will be back to normal next week! Until then.....I love YA And I'll see you soon.

Terry, turn your scaffolding 180° and climb the ladders it gives you. In Winter flip your scaffolding planks up or upside down. Then as you climb the ladders you can flip and move back into your work zones. Good luck

Susanne from Baxter, near Brainerd..Please be careful when working on your bunkhouse roof..I have broken my Right hip and femur twice..and now I have a permanent limp..the icy conditions can force a fall very easily...give River a hug from a MN fan!

@TRERUNSWILD I think we're going to get an early spring this year. Normally in South Eastern Michigan we get our sub zero cold snap at the end of January, first week of February This year we got it a couple days after new years. It lasted almost two weeks where we had highs in the single digits and nighttime lows just below zero. It's been upper 30s for the last week here and supposed to be for the next 10 days. I live next to Lake St. Clair. I wouldn't dare go out on that ice.

I just talked to a buddy and he said there was only 11" on the lake we fish. There should be over two feet. I might as well wait until spring at this point.

I had no idea there were still places in the state that had snow. I'm in the upper reaches of the Northern Twin Cities and we haven't had any snow at all on the ground in a couple weeks. Hope you feel better man. Being sick in any way is just crappy.

I really hope you feel better soon. I have come down with something as well.. day 3 I felt as though I was getting better and then all of the sudden I started feeling way worse. I’m on day 6 and the migraines are very bad. Get you some rest and all of the good remedies and we’ll see ya soon!

Good deal. I like bargains.I drink a hot drink for colds .Ginger cloves, cinnamon,lemon, honey,all spice,I put 2 tablespoon of honey, warm all in😢ingredients . My son likes it to . It's like Theraflu. Gives a good warming to the chest and throat.

Thanks for the video Terry ! I saw the temperature at Lake Vermilion got to 50ºF on Wednesday. I had the virus last week too. It wasn't terrible but I slept a lot. When we remodeled our cabin we found a lot of things that "weren't done right." Since it was built by a couple of immigrant brothers in the 1920's (who weren't carpenters) it is hard for me to be very critical. Enjoy the process & don't be too hard on yourself. You can take as long as it takes.

The winter has been ridiculous we've had five below freezing days luckily we've had snow but not really a big snowstorm I think the most has been 9 to 12 in I've never seen a winter like this in my life. Because not so long ago I had similar symptoms of illness and tests showed that I had a secret covid without knowing it, and now these illnesses are post-covid phenomena. But now everything is fine. Hey awesome! Youll never regret it! It never heats me out. If I have the oven going for something that will be too much sometimes. My small stove could actually be a little bigger when it's 0 or colder. Being little i need to stoke it once couple times a night if it's cold.

Get checked for Lyme and make sure your o2 levels are good.

Lyme disease doesn't cause respiratory issues as its first symptom. He doesn't need to check his oxygen saturation he wasn't short of breath he was coughing because he should be resting instead of building a house.

@SScott-nr9vl Didn't ask you. Man who spends a lot of time in the woods and is fatigued should get checked. Low 02 could be a lot of things but leads to fatigue and head fog.
