He used to play for my home county (Worcestershire) and, as I said we went to the same school (WRGS). He was sat on the bonnet of his car in the players car park chatting to one of the senior club execs and just called me over and we had a long chat. A sign of the times is, I'm sure he was smoking a cigarette. (it was almost 40 years ago so I may have mis remembered that bit) I think he thought I was someone else. But he was very pleasant and polite.
