Hey guys! I'm aware I need to up the audio game as the GoPro's isn't great. Funnily enough they don't sell any good microphones at the local 7-Eleven out here in the countryside 😂. Next time I'm in the city I'll be sure to pick one up! Thanks for watching 🙏👍

I live in Jomtien/Pattaya, for the last 4 years, my condo is by the sea and there’s always a nice breeze, when I leave the door open, it creates even more air passing through. I only need a fan in the room and never use the aircon. Having a big balcony is a bonus too. My electric bill is usually around 700baht a month. I go for a 3K run at sunrise and walk on the beach front for sunset. Would not want to be anywhere else in Thailand right now, it’s officially about 32C which is almost the coolest temperature in the whole of Thailand at the moment!

I live at Cosy beach, in high level corner unit condo. I also, get good sea breeze blowing through my condo. I not use air-conditioned, only fans. The current heat does not worry me at all. Our swim pool is shaded part of the day, so it's cooler than the sea

Don't be outside. But the hot weather during April is not long. You can see it's cloudy now and it will rain. Just be patient.

I totally agree with you. I live in Sweden and 8 months a year, between October-April, the weather is SO depressing. Cold, grey, rainy, snowy so miserable. And all you can do is to stay inside. And when summer season arrives you're not even guaranteed sunny or warm weather. Rather it being "too" hot a period of time than be miserable in the cold 2/3 of a year. Wish I lived in Thailand. 🥲

Over here close to the Equator in West Africa the seasonal rains are late. In the past torrential rain would start March 15th every year and the deluge would last until mid-August when there would be a two-week dry spell before the rains again resumed until late September. For the past few years, the rain has been much less predictable, wreaking havoc on agriculture as newly planted crops often wilt when rain doesn't materialize as expected. Waiting for the rain can be torture in this heat for sure. Sounds like the seasons in Thailand mirror those in Africa pretty closely.

A decade ago i had intentions of moving to SE Asia & retiring there, either Cambodia, Laos etc, yet after spending 6mths in each zone as well as further travels to Burma/Myanmar Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines & Thailand came to the conclusion that the very hot climates have a negative effect on most expats, whose main goal of each day is to find ways to escape the heat by searching out & finding AC premises to pass the day, & most of those AC places end up being bars, hence the high rate of heavy drinking & short lived expats in those hot climates, the hot climates are energy sapping, unhealthy & not conducive to any form of exercise unless you are one of the rare few who actually thrive in the extreme heat, though most will wilt like flowers, there are some cooler cities in the Indonesian Highlands though wife & I have decided to look for altogether cooler climates such as in LATAM/Eastern Europe, Mediterranean zones! Hot & Sweaty Climates = Unhealthy Expat!

I live in Khon Kaen city and its 42 degrees now, this whole month i left the AC on 24/7 even while working or going outside i just leave it ON, it was turned off for only 4 days in april. At this crazy heat during March and April i can accept paying high electricity bills, just close my eyes pay it upfront i don't look back. For me its worth paying high as i cant afford to get sick or lose my health.

Another reason for the abundance of malls in Thailand is the hot climate. Thai cities experience high temperatures, making indoor shopping destinations like malls popular among locals and tourists alike for escaping the heat while shopping and enjoying various amenities.

Whenever I’m in Thailand I always go to a 7 eleven and buy a freezing cold wet towel they sell in the fridge… that’s so refreshing and they are like 15 Bht. Obviously a swimming pool does the job as well but that is not exactly available in rural Issan.

If you have a choice in housing, there are many things that can be done. Shade trees of course but the key is double shade. You basically want to have the roof above you shaded by another source like trees or the upstairs roof. For instance downstairs rooms where none of the walls get direct sun, and consider an open air veranda upstairs. Lots of ventilation. And materials. Stone and concrete that don't get cooked can really keep a room cooler.

At home when you’re sitting down or even days at the computer. Buy a medium sized towel at 7/11 and any kind of bowl that fits the size of your head. Fold the towel put it in the bowl and pour water on it to make a ice block. Freeze it and then later take it out and put it on the top of your head. It’s extremely relaxing and cools down your head and improves mood considerably. 🤯🤗

I lived in KSA for 12 years. Same hot temperatures for 7 months but no humidity. You step out of the swimming pool or shower and it’s a bit chilly because of the moisture evaporating off your skin. I really want to work in Thailand but im afraid I won't be able to handle it or need to abuse my AC in the apartment and make 500 dollars electricity bill or something... Can you reassure me? Normally the most I can handle outside with a hat on would be 30-35 degrees here and inside no more than 25 degrees, otherwise I can't focus...

I've recently moved to Thailand, I put beer in the freezer and pop a couple of cold ones behind a fan for extra cool air if I'm too hot, apply a rotation system and obviously drink some 🍻If I need to go out in the sun for any length of time I like to carry a frozen bottle of water to help cool the blood 🥶and take a small towel to mop up any sweat. I was interested to hear about the cost of running AC and will find out how much it costs when I get my first bill, expecting around 5k with some of that cost going on the swimming pool pump, lights etc...If my bill is less I'd say I've had a result if it's more I'll get more fans and put more beer in the freezer ☺

Light that enters into the room will be mostly converted into heat. So to mitigate this effect, you can install curtains to limit the amount of light enertering your room. You can install double curtains with one thin white linen curtain and another thicker curtain. Install a ceiling fan. The fan will help you feel cooler while maintaining a higher air con temperature. Thirdly, you can consider further insulating your walls. This will also reduce the heat enetering your room by conduction through the walls.

I like visiting Asia. To hot and humid. I could never live there. I am a North American not a Thai. Beautiful people. People moving there because they can’t afford America is sad.

This is why they have air con. Some places are so cold in the winter you can’t survive outside for long. Need heating. Hot climates require AC.

Also 3yrs in Thailand from UK but I LOVE 40c and the Heat, it does not bother me at all . I Always said "you must adapt to Thailand as IT will not adapt to you". 1st Mistake is Air con which is a big CON, if you are under 20c A/C all day you will suffer when you go out into 40c, your body needs time to acclimatize. I refuse A/C have Never miss it once ... I also have many small showers if I get hot, but most of all drink 3 times the amount of water to replace what I loose. Also eat good food and not English fast food crap and many times a day small portions, look after your body. Now the Thais.. you went over the top, Thais do Not like dark skin and want to be white, so they ALWAYS cover themselves up everyday not just in April. Thais don't not beach the same way the west do so regardless of time of day they always stay in the shade . I still go out in the midday Sun, I still run 20kms/swim / 1 hour of beach yoga every 2nd day. I also help brushing leafs from our mango trees everyday 2PM in our Thai village. I agree good Sun protection and also use aloe vera as well. Bitching and whining like a typical farang, did you not know about this climate before you came ?, one of the reasons why I came to Asia was the Heat. By May 5th the rain starts and the hot season will end .. Enjoy the heat it's like a warm blanket . 😊

Maybe Thais dont like dark skin because dark skin means labour class, working outdoors and so on or maybe its the chinese, Laosian, or Vietnamse influence as they have white skin and considered attractive.

Yesssss, no to AC. I don't have it either. Cooling down with water is the way, as much as needed. Getting in front of a fan right afterward can cool you down quickly and considerably even more. If you live near clean water sources like reservoirs, beaches, or big slow river, I recommend paddle boarding or kayaking where you can take a dip anytime. I just went yesterday and it was cooking but I felt cool. Like a fool I didn't use sunscreen below the knees and cooked my feet and calves, but otherwise covered up. I was out for maybe 6 hours and It was very comfortable. For me, I choose to live near water where I can swim and paddle. It's nice to be outside when you can without suffering. Just gotta find the way.

This year is exceptionally and abnormally hot partly due to the El Niño and global warming. Next years may be better. I cannot survive even a few minutes outside the AC and I am a Thai. Beware of heat strokes.
