My guess is that this song choise was made from the repertoire of her musicians, as Angelina`s song choises aren`t the easiest ones for young musicians to play. Angelina obviously more than willing, of course, to perform along side two of her assumably schoolmates. There are a few videos like this, as young Angelina join in vocaly, to young musicians rehearsing and performances 👣 🤗

She looks about 6. Amazing that she is reading the lyrics in English. Seems to be prior to her meeting the shoeless girl. She is so adorable! Her voice to me seems pre 7 just remembering how I have heard it previously. 😊 yes, she is fearless at any age. I just watched a clip of an interview she gave to a TV program in Norway in the last few weeks in which she said she is embarrassed to watch video of herself, the presenter had played a clip with Angelina sitting next to her. And yet she can stand in front of thousands and talk and sing, even at a very young age. Perhaps it is just that she is so humble that she doesn't like to be shown the clip and be praised directly. In any case, she is an amazing human being!❤❤❤❤👣

Hi! Of AJ's early performances, a notable, rarely seen performance for the Prime Minister of Norway immediately after winning the NGT. She was so small they had to put it on the table. In my opinion, she did great and the whole performance was downright moving. Greetings from Poland, Grzegorz

Angelina's timing at this early age, is remarkable. 99.9% of 7 year olds would speed up the tempo while singing.

Ever since my first time encountering Angelina I have always been amazed that she NEVER rushed through a performance. Her patience is so uncharacteristic for such a young child.

Yes! Even as a teenager, I had a tendency to do so in many situations, especially with the spotlight on. The same occurred in dance performances. The same occurred when nervous in diving, karate and so many other things (not necessarily rushing but not executing as I should have). It's almost impossible at that age let alone to do it repeatedly let alone with the pressure and on and on and on

Although this was posted when Angelina was 7 - it is possible that she may actually be 6 years old in this video before she met the shoeless girl. It is also possible that the venue doesn't allow bare feet.

No, it's very clear from Mery's Facebook page that this was towards the end of 2013. She also sang in the same outfit, incl. shoes, Hurt at the VAD Festival on Dec. 1st 2013.

She didn't make the commitment to sing barefoot immediately after meeting the shoeless girl but later, I think at her first NGT audition ... she actually said that her mum Sara brought nice shoes for her for that performance and was stressed when Angelina said no, I am going to sing barefoot...

I think this was a practice, thus the shoes. She wears them to practice. Whoever was there at the time clapped, but I don’t think this is a final performance. MHO.

My understanding is that Angelina didn't decide to perform shoeless until NGT. Sara related that she bought her a new pair of shoes for the show and was surprised when Angie told her she wanted to perform without shoes. (From reading other comments, I see that it was an Angelina interview.)

Good point on her not having fear of exposing imperfections. Up to this day I find it one of the most admirable qualities of hers--how she seamlessly handles a gaff on stage to just putting out material on the fly or showing her creative rehearsals, not worrying that it may not be her ideal performance. I know she has always put a lot of work into making her shows the best they can possibly be so I find this dichotomy a fascinating and truly wondrous part of her personality. She is so special in so many ways.

I must admit i have not seen this one. Angelina is just so special. I was listening to her new song Bad Valentine for the 5th or 6th times today and don't know why but this time it brought me to tears from recognizing how good she has become over the last 10 years and she is about to explode into the music world ❤❤❤❤👣

Yes, just reading your kind words about her amazing talent brings me to tears, and then for this wondrous little girl to grow into the Angelina that is now singing something like Bad Valentine, I almost become a basket case, there is so much feeling expressed with her voice.

I believe she made the vow to perform barefoot at the time of her first audition for Norway's Got Talent, where she sang Gloomy Sunday - she said in an interview that her mum Sara had brought some nice shoes to wear for that performance and was a bit "stressed" when Angelina told her no, she wanted to sing barefoot "so it's not all about me"...

Maybe we should keep in mind, that 7 year olds likely often do not have control of what footwear they get to choose in November in a public building, that's likely not heated much. She might have had better arguments on her side a year later, after practising that for most of the year in spring/summer.

More than likely a soundcheck or rehearsal before the performance She puts the lyrics back on the floor more casual than in a performance but cute and on point

I wish people would get off the shoes . The Shoes. Stop making a big deal of it. She caught a Cold once. Because where she was had been the cold season. Over 6.000 kids, plus adults were there. Everyone was well Clothed. Yet she alone was bare feet in her white dress. She still performed for Charity. Fought through her illness. Talk about that people. She was 8 then. 2014.

She never reads the lyrics or wears shoes during a performance. She was a professional at six years old, she wouldn’t dream of performing with a cheat sheet or breaking her vow!
