I'm no longer living my life in the safe zone....
I forgot to put my thank you note at the end of the video (things have been pretty crazy around here lately!!) but I just want to say thank you so much to each and every one of you that has been supporting me on this journey, and I can't wait to share what I have planned next. Huge thanks to the Channel Supporters, Channel Members and Super Supporter Curtis C! You guys rock!

I guess it's easy to be debt free if you already have access to either money or $100,000 trailer, a $50,000 truck and enough left over to buy, in cash I presume, 3 acres of land. It's so condescending for people who get free, EVERYTHING, tell other people how to live their lives, debt free, not working a job they don't like, etc. How about you tell us how you got your college education and eveything else you have without debt? At your age. I like your channel, but be honest and admit you were fortunate enough to have those things given to you. And then everyone will appreciate your channel more. But don't gaslight us. People are not here for fake inspiration. You're doing something different and interesting. That's your channel. Why people want to follow you. Focus on that. The gaslighting "inspirational bullshit" will turn off more than half of your potential subscribers. There's too much of that already. Honesty is the most valuable commodity these days. Leave the bullshit to the preachers and politicians.

I can appreciate where you're coming from, as I've felt the same way for most of my life. Mike and I have worked extremely hard at jobs we hated while working on our first low end property ourselves which we sold to follow our dreams, and moved across the province to an area where we could afford land to embark on this journey. My channel is all about showing the reality of working within my means, to accomplish things I would not otherwise be able to afford. The $100,000 trailer you're talking about, was actually an extremely smoke damaged unit that I repaired myself (video on my channel if you're interested). The $50,000 truck is actually a rebuilt title truck that I paid 19,000 for and needed a lot of work when I bought 4 years ago and if you check out my channel, is still consistently needing work. What I'm trying to get at is I often feel the exact same way as you, and personally know a lot of people who you are describing, and it makes my blood boil as well! I hope that your dreams come to fruition, and just know that there's a lot of sacrifice and hard work that goes on that I don't share here. Thank you regardless for watching, and I hope you have a nice day.

Yes, it's also ironic that this creator is apparently in Canada, but starts by talking about the $100,000's of debt American have, specifically poking the would of college debt. The average college tuition is around half what it is in the US. Also, based on what YT is suggesting, we can all be honest, this is a "creator experiment" that only exists because the YT audience likes to watch attractive women in crop tops. The soft skills as they are called today that likely garnered Ms. Meg here a job in "she hated" to accumulate her next egg are no doubt being applied on this channel - which is, to its credit, relatively well produced. I've know a few hippies back before YT who tried this type of thing. I have friends doing it now. They all still needed a day job to pay the bills. I have no doubt the "day job" here will turn out to be the YT revenue, which is likely to be pretty good as long as the "I want that" appeal is still there.

@@GNada-g6l To be fair things are just as expensive in Canada as they are in America and both countries have debt problems. And college in America costs half as much if you got to community college and even less if you go to a private college that accepts more than 60 credits from a community college. The real problem in America isn’t so much the cost of education as it is how little it is actually worth, you get a fancy price of paper that only really proves you can work at a computer for hours on end and other than that you have very few in demand job skills after college. Also the jobs for most degrees don’t pay hardly anything relative to degree cost because we have allowed globalist policies to send jobs to Asia where anything computer related can be done pennies on the dollar. And we’ve sent manufacturing overseas where it can be done pennies on the dollar, so now we only really have service jobs that don’t pay very much and we’ve all been tricked into taking on debt to live a semblance of what our parents had, living in denial that we’ve been sold out to Wall Street and big banks. We are in denial that things need to change and that change starts with ourselves. People are too afraid to leave their overpriced apartment and move into a $13,000 used trailer and tow it with their used truck that breaks down all the time and scratch a life out of the ground beneath your feet. If you’re complaining about college debt you could definitely get a remote job even if it pays less and do it from your trailer, save your money, pay off your debt and build a house over the course of years.
@GNada-g6l
@GNada-g6l 2 дня назад
@@Douglas-iz4de You have some points I want to respond to: 1) Don't fault Americans for not being willing to live in the tow-behind trailer. It's not only outlawed and/or impossible in a lot of places, but also a great way to have children who become outliers. 2) Anyone under 65 who spends 2 years in community college is wasting their time. College has become a place to hone "soft skills" - being charismatic, knowing when to wear the crop-top (also known as "marketing"). That's not something you can learn as a commuter at community college. 3) I have a feeling Meg and her partner worked in "Wall Street" as you call it. Just call it a hunch. The vast majority of suburban homeowners in the US pay more to have their law manicured than they do investing. That is one reason there is a middle class suburb trap right now - if you don't spend on thing like carpet looking grass to impress the neighbors, you become a pariah. Anyway, you make some good points. Americans are fed up, and they want a fix, it's what they voted for in 2016, and it's why even D candidates today is talking about fixing the problems (that they made LOL). Cut tax exemptions for mega institutions which are really hedge funds calling themselves colleges. Engage in national campaign to de-stigmatize trade school, and actually engage the trade programs to promote success stories of debt free young people. Regulate credit card lending for people under 18 (you can get a credit card at any age, but you can't get a bank account under 16... thanks to the Patriot Act). Mr T promised these kinds of reforms, but instead ran to the border and starting milking the fear marketing. OK, don't want to get to political. I have to go fertilized my lawn.

From your previous videos I assumed you were Canadian base on your trips to Canadian Tire. But, the last couple videos you make references to the U.S. and the Pacific Northwest. Just three acres? Develop the land that will yield the highest capital gains in the shortest amount of time. Sell this land and roll it all into a bigger piece of land. Keep doing this until your closest neighbor can no longer be seen or heard. Trust me, this is the only way to own property. Also, don't buy land that neighbors need to access to get to their land. That's always a pain in the backside and can lead to feuding with the neighbors. There is so much more, but that's for another time. Cheers and congrads to the new land purchase.

Well, you're in it now. 😁 The backhoe was a good choice. There's going to be a lot of trenching and earth moving in the beginning for electrical, water, and waste. You can probably pick up the accessories pretty cheap too like the post hole digger and pallet forks possibly a rock breaker, etc. You're probably going to want to rent larger and smaller heavy equipment as the project progresses for specific jobs 'cause a backhoe is versatile but it can't to everything. You were right about buying the backhoe instead of renting it. You'll save money in the end and you can always sell it later. Oh, and nice hat.😀
@Meg.August

Definitely in it, full-send now lol!! The backhoe is going to be a great piece of equipment to have for these projects, but you're absolutely right, it can't do it all. Although it was an upfront cost, renting and having to schedule rentals in advance would have been a nightmare tbh. Being able to quickly move stuff on demand is valuable. And yes! Can totally re-sell when we're done.

Sorry that you have to think and live in such a North American way that you believe that all people are subject to the same social constraints as you there. In Europe people are freer than in North America, for example in Germany where you don't get shot if you enter a forest that belongs to you because there are laws there that give you the right to the forest! Or in Scandinavia where everyone has the right to camp and hike and fish freely in the forest and so on. In Europe you don't get into debt if you want to study at a university because education in Europe is free, unlike in North America! OK, you only pay a small fee of €100, or roughly, but it won't bankrupt you. The state pays for education in Europe and in Germany even North Americans can study for free, OK, almost for free and get a degree. And honestly in Europe not everyone has to have an academic degree to be accepted in society, no, that pressure can only be imposed by parents who have dollar signs in their eyes and don't worry about work-life balance.Here, professors and doctors live next to plumbers and carpenters, and judges next to electricians. There are no separate residential areas for academics. Why? To create a divide between people like in North America? Academics are dependent on tradespeople and show respect to these people in a different way! In Europe, health, friends and family time are much more important than money and possessions. You are more relaxed in Europe without these North American constraints and dangers because you are not subject to these constraints. OK, there are people like that in Europe too, but they are in the minority. I wish you knew how to live here in Europe without these constraints... Live life and drink a beer in public with other people and don't get arrested for doing it. The French enjoy their red wine in the middle of the market square and don't get arrested for drinking and enjoying alcohol in public. Do you notice how strange you North Americans are?I hope you don't take on too much and end up suffering. I wish you all the best in your plans like a German when you create something that will serve as a home for you and your future family until the end of your life. Greetings from northwest Germany to you and your partner.....

Everyone has their own views and ways of living life, what I was speaking to was just how I see a lot of societal pressures. I have actually lived in France over the span of 4 years, and I do agree with you to a certain degree that there are cultural differences. And I actually live in Canada, and feel very safe and free here, I referenced the US as it's the largest influential economy and greatly reflects our Canadian economy as well.
