Taking on projects that I once considered "above my pay grade"!
Thank you so much for being here! I hope you enjoy the videos and the projects I take on. I enjoy learning new skills and challenging what I once thought possible for myself, keeping it real and sharing the struggles of being a rookie. If you are interested in further supporting me and the channel, I have linked my PayPal donations link below, thank you!
*Please note! I will never reach out through social media apps to contact you or request money. Thank you!*
the chain stretches as it gets hotter so may need to be adjusted throughout the day. Also the sharpness is judged by the size of the chips. The teeth a commonly referred to as chisels the bigger the chips the better your chain is. If you are making sawdust you are really dull. You can file the chain a few times with the proper sized file or I use a dremmel tool. Some people file the deapth guages, I just replace the chain after several sharpenings.
You need supervision, you have no clue what your doing you put a chain on a chain saw and didn’t tension it. Do you want to die ? The chain was burning through the tree not cutting. You had a better chance of death in a forest fire than smashed by a tree. Or that chain coming off and ripping your face off. I honestly don’t know if your guy is any better he seems not so bright too. Ask people in your area for help. Don’t die doing something stupid with a chain saw and leave the dogs at home while falling trees! They definitely do not need to die because of your ignorance.
Please use the right protective equipment when using a chainsaw. Helmet, Gloves and good quality CHAPS Protective pants. That gear will save your life.
Kinda questionable Technique Meg! B Safe and And have a Game Plan for Felling as well as Possible Med Care! I still Love Ur Maintenance Vids, B Safe! And Cheers from Hot Ass Texas!
Aside from the unnecessary excess heat from cutting with the dull chain, you should never Rev the engine when the brake is on. The centrifugal clutch will be trying to engage, but the brake will be holding the sprocket from spinning; essentially burning up the clutch. It would be similar to easing off the clutch in your car, while holding the brakes, except the clutch in the chainsaw isn't as forgiving. I always have 3 chains at any given time. One on the saw, and at least one sharp chain in reserve. In the long run, it's much cheaper than the damage you can cause from running a dull chain.
it's your first time cutting a tree and you made a video on how not to cut a tree. Not every thing went bad, now you know what not to do. I'm being a bit mean on purpose. Sharp that chain and use protective gear and most of the mistakes you made you wont make them again cause they where all a consequence of a tool not working as it should. Heres a good and simple video for you to learn how to file a chainsaw just using a file. It's 10 minutes and no shenanigans, and you don't need special tools to do a good filing. Good job but I feel you needed better protection. Ear protection and full face shield. No bare skin showing to protect the skin and chain saw chaps to prevent losing a leg if the saw kicks back. I’ve had a couple of close calls in my life. Very scary and it happens so fast. Please be careful.
Nice work and happy for your success! However I would strongly recommend ear protection when using a chainsaw. Those things are LOUD and battering your ears can come back to haunt you years later. Eye protection as well, given that chainsaws fling stuff around when you run them. Good luck on your next major land clearing adventure :)
Hi meg it's Vaughan from Australia again it's a pleasure watching you at work your not afraid to get dirty and work hard that's awesome so keep up the great work 😀
Would it not be beneficial to keep a ready made ‘lightning rod’ in place in order to prevent possible lightning strikes to more valuable assets nearby?
I know you are trying a lot of new stuff out, even when it scares the hell out of you. With this one I was a bit worried because normally, at least over here in the NL, tree falling is done by two or more people in case something goes not the way it should. As others have pointed out the chain saw was very dull which made this job more challenging. At the end … job done! On to the next one! Be careful!
Well maiantained tools ie., chainsaw and backhoe, make the job so much easier. Spare chains and a chain file woul dhave helped tremendously. Congrats on getting the job done anyways.
Hello Meg the video was a bit dangerous. Cutting down a tree requires great respect and the right equipment. I was a bit afraid for her person. Always be careful because something can quickly happen if you make a mistake. But you've done another good job and your plot is slowly taking shape. I wish you continued success and enjoyment and look forward to your next video. Be careful and always trade wisely. Good luck.
It’s progressing very well. Like to see you from struggling with the Intl. in the beginning to get more familiar with it. You’ve got a good tutor next to you. He’s very relaxing in teaching you to handle this thing, that is in front of the camera at least. I’m curious how the layout will be of your new home. Good luck!!! 🍀 ps. Did you find the water well?
Definitely get some protective wear as others have suggested Meg. You will believe how fast that saw can kick and attempt to remove one of your limbs. Still the determined learner as always though. Keep up the great work. Since that chain was over heated I would suggest to just replace it too.
Good effort, but what about safety? You stood in front of the tree so many times, no ppe and using the chain blunt made your job harder. 5 mins with a round file will sharpen it up, but get the proper clothing before using it again, and never cut on your own, you don’t want to be found bled out in a pool of blood
Oh No! Cowboy Meg is taken-down two trees using a chainsaw.. what could go wrong? Butt Meg did-it Meg-2 trees-0 enjoy ur off-beat way of doing stuff. lv from florida.
Always a great day when no one gets hurt !!! Great job Miss Meg !! You are getting good on the backhoe !!! Please continue to be safe and God bless you and your family !!! Eddy
