Thebe's music was ahead of its time indeed, it ages well with time. We also need Bruce King David 😭his story is not documented anywhere, it's always from the the second person.
What a great interview. Natural Story teller this guy. Bra Mdeva did'nt have to do much here. I can relate so much from Thebe. I also grew up many places. Hammanskraal, Soshanguve, Limpopo, Kwandebele...I however identify with Kwandebele because i finished my high school there and my parents still live there. That is what i call home. With Education just like Thebe i realized when i got to university that we learned rubbish in high school. it was quite tough in my 1st year. i was top of my class from grade8 -12, but when i got to university i came against very smart students. they were cruising while i struggled. But in my second year i started to adjust to the level.
The fact that Chicco Twala is mentioned by almost all the artists is mind blowing sadly he's not been interviewed here I wonder if he's not interested or never been invited. Thank you for the Great interview David, We love Thebe Lenyora ❤
This is the best interview, i love Thebe's music. watching this interview made me understand some of the phrases in his music like bo Xfiles, i thought he was referring X5(BMW) in that song Lenyora, only to find out he is talking about Xhosa chicks, jah neh.
King David you never miss, I love how you give your guests a platform to tell their stories, podcasts these days are all about the hosts, they never give their guests a chance to speak
Legend Thebe Lenyora. Very authentic, genuine real talk. Thanks to you David Mashabela. We wish you more Years of success and prosperity. Our true Gem, Son of the Soil.
Aaaaaa Thebe senganga.... Oooohhh my God David your really the best...thank you indeed🤝 Very humbling seeing "our people"- mean figures of our generation/ lifetime. We truely appreciate you❤❤❤❤. Hes such a vibe & you see a sence of grattitude/ respect in how his holding his hands, truely amazing...❤❤❤
Thebe is a true mood changer, be it in his songs, music videos, dance moves. I enjoyed listening to his narration - so legendary, free and easy, humorous. I can conclude that one of his goals is and has always been about evoking positive emotions and he has achieved that successfully. - We are happy people always around him - More blessings to the Legend.
Thebe, Bruce and Oskido are Legends. I like the fact that he's so humble and modest about his journey. I enjoyed this interview. He brought back so many memories Sports Centre and the Basement at Natal Tech Epic moments. Durban was the Bomb it's a pity that I never got to meet Mr Mashabela even though we were in Dbn at the same time.
one thing that you should cover on part 3, is that gap between his arrival at Kalawa and the feature on Thobela, not forgetting appearing on the Boom Shaka album Makes sense that there was a transition into Thebe being the 1st artist, but the relations and work before the Kalawa split
Thank you King David 4 this interview...we been tagging McGee 4ever. Thebe ke Legend 4real n his story is amazing to hear. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏽
Mick Jagger, Paul Simon and Michael Jackson recorded ko Mafikeng. I need you to understand the magnitude ya Tautona Manyane Mangope. Bophutatswana was immense!!!
I had a privilege of meeting this legend when he performed in one of the events in Durban... We had a preety good conversation after his performance. Very cool, calm and collected gentleman who is very down to earth. And as someone who followed his music from his debut album he was surprised that I could engage with him in Setswana and Sotho all because I started learning these languages through his songs.
Wooow! My younger brother's Favourite artist🎉 My younger brother couldn't dance until Thebe's moves 😂 Hence Maf was once called Mafjozi❤ THANK YOU KING DAVID
Something came to my mind watching this,u always love being behind the mic, remember that time we hosted a social at Vlakfontein school,u were the Mc n dj,all in one.
Ntate Mashabela, I humbly think that your friendship, brotherhood with the greatest Warren Masemola, is costing us a super interview. 😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😅😅😅😅 I can't wait to see him on that chair. The other guest I can't wait to see is Uncle Steve Khompela. That is my wishlist for 2023 -Early 2024
