Enter a gravel race they said, it' be fun they said!
So I did!!!!
In May I'm riding the Gralloch Gravel UCI gravel race in Scotland & this was my first specific gravel ride in preparation for the event. Its fair to say I got found out and my seriously lacking off road skills fell someway short of what I'll need to get around the event in 6 weeks time.
To top if off, DT had a triple puncture and we left him stranded in the middle of one of the biggest forests in the UK!!!
Non the less, it was a great ride, in an incredible part of the world.

Great video Dave. Nerves are natural but as others have said just ride and see what happens. It will be a great achievement no matter where you place this time. Great seeing Kielder too. Up there for a few days at the start of May after a wedding in Newcastle. Can’t wait to spend a few days there.

You’ve got this Dave, what you may not have in the way of technical skills you probably partly make up with the amount of power and fitness you have. Use your skills to your advantage and see where you end up, don’t take risks that could derail your training if it goes wrong and go and smash it out. You never know, and there’s only one way to find out dude.

Shame about the punctures cutting the day short but that's gravel, my pal's son who's a great mtb rider just shouts at him on every downhill "get off those ****ing brakes" 🤣 Take it easy!

Great channel. Just subscribed! Wondering if this is a Crux? I’m thinking about getting one but really interested on knowing how valid this bike is for road cycling? I’d do more road than gravel but lile the freedom to use it for whatever I want.

Hey, thanks for the message. Yeah it's a Crux. If the gearing is set up to suit road riding and with a couple of pairs of wheels, it'd be spot on to use on the road. Thanks for watching 👍

Hahaha, yeah way more bike than I'll ever need. To be fair I did used to ride it a fair bit, but haven't used it for quite a while as I've been more road focussed... Such a good bike to ride though, I just need to improve my skills ( a lot!! ) ...
