I've been around bikes forever, raced since I was a kid and opened a bike store in my hometown in 2009!
Whilst owning and running a business, it's fair to say life got in the way and I lost the love for riding.
I began this channel to capture my journey back into cycling! Quitting bad habits and turning my life around, as I re find my love for riding a bike in my mid 40's!
Please subscribe and help me spread the good vibes far and wide!
Did this event in 2022. We did a time trial up the Loze…..hardest climb I’ve ever done (and that was just the section from Meribel). These events are all about pacing and nutrition. Ride yourself into it and don’t get carried away on day 1. Best of luck. Look forward to seeing how you get on.
Know those roads well running and cycling as I live in Lumley. Pretty sure I've seen your group around on Sunday mornings. Wernt hanging around there but look of it.
That is an awesome bike! I'm looking to buy the new aeroad, with sram force groupset and zipp wheels. It's priced so much better than anything from specialized, trek, or pinarello.
It’s mad how we class ourselves as “average” riders, mate your adventures and what you do is epic! I’m 46, 85kg, over 300ftp and just getting over COVID I’m sat here doubting myself as to whether I’ll get back to riding how I was pre illness, of course I will, it’s just a sickness! Pre sickness I was building to my next trip to Calpe in October and seeing your videos inspire me as the Haute route has always had my interest. Time to build harder, stronger and faster hey, I look forward to seeing your journey.
Thanks mate….. you’ll be back at it in no time. With the right outlook no reason why you can’t bounce back stronger than before … I love Calpe, hopefully I’ll be back there in a few weeks as part of HR prep… Thanks for watching
I am here for this Dave, this is going to make some awesome content! Not too sure I agree with the average cyclist thing as you are clearly really fit/fast, buuuut I am really interested to see how much you can push it. Good luck mate.
@@LeeWright …. Thanks mate. I’m keen to see where I can get to over the next few weeks… 6 weeks isn’t long and my coach has his work cut out to make a difference in time for the event… Let’s see what the next few weeks bring.. 👍
@@NeilAmos-cw7kk in a world of cycling RU-vidrs all seemingly banging out 400 watts / 5+ watts per kilo for miles on end , I’m bang average mate… This sport is mental, there’s levels, upon levels, upon levels… I’d say I’m average if you say otherwise, I’ll take it as a compliment 😊.. Thanks for watching. 👍
@@denebrown4065 Thank mate….. I’ll definitely be smashed by the end of it. Hopefully the training I’ve got lined up over the next few weeks will get me through it 😬 Thanks for watching 👍
Hey Dave! What an event - looks absolutely nuts to be honest and kudos for even getting it done. I am suuuuper glad to hear that you will be documenting your training and nutrition over the weeks coming up and this is something I have mentioned I would love to see a couple of times in your comments! really looking forward to that mate.
@@LeeWright it was a mental climb… different gravy to anything I’ve done recently…. 😬😖… I’ve got some good plans for the Haute Route training content…. The first should be up this weekend. 👍
@@jamescoulter8413 thank you mate… that climb was epic, so I went for an epic / vintage vibe for the intro just to mix it up a bit. Pleased you enjoyed it.. 👍
Two hours to reach the summit… wow… I think I only have enough positive affirmations for about an hour without repeating them… 😅… that last hour I probably would’ve made up some new curse words… 😂😂😂😂🫡🍻
@@CycoWarriorx haha. It was ridiculously long…. The last bit was an absolute slog. All I could think about was the Haute Route and the fact that I’d be climbing mountains like this everyday for a week… it’ll either be the best or worst event of my life 😬
well done fella looked brutal, done a few this year that was excited for but realised quite quickly that I had not done enough for! That's what makes us human. As the saying goes, if we wait until we are ready then we'll never be ready!! Put Tour of Pembrokeshire on your list for next year. Did it for the first time this year, you would love the scenery bit like the Dragon ride. I found it tough but will be back next year!
Beautiful footage Dave & I could feel your pain on the morning after, I felt guilty for laughing at your suffering but that's because I didn't have to do those climbs 🤷🏻♂️ Brutal but beautiful and rather you than me is how I sum that ride up, chapeau 👍
Haha, thanks mate and no worries. I was laughing at myself watching it back.. why do we put ourselves though it …. Would I do it all again? Absolutely 😂
You should never doubt the choice you made when you decided to do this full time Dave, every one of us following you is full of admiration and jealousy 👏👏👏
