I used to go through Rowland on the way to Myrtle Beach. It is not looking very good right now but maybe it can be turned around. Thanks for the tour.

It's a shame because so many of this town's buildings that are abandoned or in disrepair would look really wonderful if they were fixed up, touched up, and/or kept up.

The yellow metal building called the Cultural Center was a grocery store in the early 80's. It was once called Rowland Meat Center. Then it was sold and became Clover Farm. I worked there as Meat Department Manager for both. That was a bunch of years ago. Good Memories 😊

The company I work for was part of the restoration project at the depot. We did the floors in the warehouse 8"/10" wide 3" in Thick heart pine A long hot summer of setting spike nails with a piece of rebar and lots and lots of cutting and sanding to get them flat other contractors did plumbing heating air and constructionof walls ect.Its now a event center and can be rented....The mayor and committee members we met really care about this tiny town and our trying to make positive changes It was a privilege to work on this project Hot dirty mess now it beautiful.Brian employee of Jacob's Tile.

My great-grandfather worked as a train conductor at Depot, but someone stole his uniform and just threw it out of the car while escaping. My whole family grew up here it was such a huge agricultural place to make your money.

Looks like a lot of people still live there with all that traffic. Must be taken over by strip malls and such.

The nicest building (and sidewalks) in the entire town center is the historic train depot. What in tarnations? 🤔

Very hard to watch. Years ago I had to detour from 95 to 301 and went busting thru Roland on 301 and got stopped for speeding. Officer gave me a heck of a break. Never forget it or him. Feel bad for America. What the hell has happened?🦇

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have caught a few breaks myself over the years, my wife on the other hand, seems to love getting tickets 🚔🤨

That happens in a lot of towns. You have to be able to find employment. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with your hometown.👍

All these towns look like cookie cutter designs. Same buildings and such. Some have updated sooner but over all every town looks the same to me.

So do, for sure. What makes a town different to me is its individual business owners. But slowly, over time, we seem to be losing all of them in favor of a few big chains. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. And thanks for working 👍
