Great use of a pocket door. I know they're reasonably common in the US, but it seems they've only recently started to gain popularity in the UK. They're great imo, especially when space is tight; I've fitted 4 when creating ensuite bathrooms where space is often at a premium.

Nice to see someone doing a high quality job! A lot of pro trades people wouldn’t have done that nice a job! I live in Denmark and the whole reason I built our 80m2 extension myself was to ensure a quality end result just like the fantastic work you are producing. It's nice seeing a non-professional achieve such an outstanding level of quality. To be fair to the trades people, they have to work efficiently and there isn't often the time to be painstaking. We should all aspire to this level of quality though.

Going to be putting a couple of these into our new extension. Love watching your videos. My wife has zero interest in tools or how things are built. Luckily my Dad loves projects like these so it helps massively to have a fresh pair of eyes to overcome the inevitable problems that crop up when you're up against it.

I recently made a cherry pocket door and installed an edge pull similar to yours. I used the domino joiner to cut the mortise for the part which retracts deeply into the door. My door was 1 3/8 inch thick, so I made sure the mortise did not interfere with the surface pulls.

A tip for you with plugs.... just screw a screw into the centre of the plug it goes through and the tip stops on the hidden screw head and the plug winds out! real easy and no damage to the board... good content always form you ... good man!

Nice work, im currently doing my own porch at the moment and been looking at different style doors. At the bottom of your door is there trim to stop and drafts as i couldn't see that detail.

No draft as the porch itself is craft proof however I have ordered a brush seal to go down there. My gap is a little larger than planned otherwise I might not have bothered at all.

My understanding of British vernacular has improved greatly by watching this channel over the years. I am, however, stumped by this sentence: "This really was a bit of fussy hardware and also quite fiddly." In my head...those words (fussy/fiddly) are the same. I am intrigued by the difference if it can be explained to an American, please?

Hi Jayne fussy refers to the hardware being a little complex in design and fiddly means a bit difficult to work with.

Nice use of the space You may have to teach the kids not to leave their fingers in the handles when they open the door, i did it once as a kid, and it hurts a lot.

What was the osmo product you used on the door and did you wipe off the excess with a cloth.

PolyX satin clear (rapid) foam brush on and yes usually wipe off. Unless it’s a worktop when I tend to leave it as a thicker more durable top coat.

Thanks for the support Matt! The front wall's render is pretty sound so likely just paint or this year. The rear I have taken back to block so will be a combo of stone and render. To clad would require full planning permission but may be the future option.

Yep. Answer this on your Instagram story yesterday. Fortunately this door is only really opened and closed once or twice a day. That said any door hinge is a danger zone with the girls!🙄

Looks a proper job. But seeing your little ones fingers by the sliding door made me realise the glass to wood shoulder (or is it flush?) is a possible finger trap when the door slides open. Sorry for the H&S comment.

No more than hinges in all the other doors of the house. To be honest, we intend to only open and close once a day as the idea is to keep it open to the other part of the house ,out of the time.
