I made boomerang that doesn't come back, what did I do wrong 

You have to use in on an angle when the wind is coming towards you. Probaly have to check it out on youtube somewhere on how to use it. It's a weapon you want it to hit your target, so it spins and works. everything is a learning experience, you did great.

It's the taper on the inside edges. Maybe needs more shaved off toward the inside ends. Also throw at a 1 O'clock angle, other than that it's trial and error.

If memory serves me right, one leg has to be quite shorter than the other one. I had one as a child. Both of the legs on yours seem to be almost the same size.

Watching the videos again you need to turn the boomerang around and throw it at about a 80 degree angle

the boomerang must be thrown vertically, not at an angle

I know quite a few Aboriginal People here in Australia, there is a real skill to making and throwing them, but the traditional ones were never really a right angle like yours, only the fake souvenir ones you hang on your wall..

A boomerang that does not come back, is not a boomerang, it is a stick.

It also may be to heavy

They call that a stick just kidding boomerangs need wind to make them come back with the air foils in the right spot

What did you do wrong? Pretty much everything you could do wrong you did. Wrong wood, wrong method, wrong shape, wrong angles, wrong technique. 1. Boomerangs are made from one single piece of wood not multiple 2. They are made by carving not glueing 3. They are closer to a 60 degree angle not 90 4. The angles need to be very precise to get it to return 5. Your throwing it way to hard, when properly made and thrown ( 1oclock angle with a flick of the wrist ) they actually don't require a lot of force. However if your intent was to create a hunting/non returning boomerang the only things you got wrong were not using hardwood and it was too small. Hope all this info helps in future 🙂
