I am one who does not like the Crumbl cookie. It is way too sweet and to me, taste artificial. I love homemade baked goods and homemade cookies are not overly sweet and that is what I prefer. I do love all your videos and learn so much. Just thought you might want to know another perspective.
One time when I was a kid, I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies. They were the best ever. Not just because they had local black walnuts pieces in them. I added baking powder and baking soda both by mistake. They had really good structure and did not flatten out on the baking sheet like chocolate chip cookies usually did.
Thank you for thoroughly mixing butter/sugar/eggs. I once watched a show that said mix only until incorporated or your cookies will be dry. I've doubted my cookies since. This restores my faith.😅❤.
I LOVE Crumbl cookies. I love that they have different and unique flavors each week. My favorite is actually the sugar cookie based ones. That being said, they are expensive and huge. We usually cut them into quarters and eat them over several days. Yours look amazing! Can’t wait to try this when it gets cooler here. Warm chocolate chip cookies are the best!
Excellent video. Loved that you did "trial and error" in the baking part. That gives the viewer an option to bake the cookies to their preference. Yes, I know it was to copy a particular cookie, but people might want to tailor the final result to their own liking.ie: soft and chewy vs crispy.
OMGoodenessss ! Thank you so much for this. I have been wanting to try to do a great big choc.chip cookie for Christmas and this looks so doable 😊 Once again that's why you're my favorite❤
I am definitely going to try this one but my favorite recipe for cakey chocolate chip cookies is one with vanilla pudding. I really like mine soft and also add walnuts or pecans.
I tried another copycat recipe and it called for browned butter. Now I've never browned butter before ever. But I gotta say those cookies were absolutely fabulous. But I'm gonna try your recipe too.
My wife and I manufacture cookie cutters and Crumbl happens to be one of our customers. The reason all their cookies are exactly the same size is that they use a 5 inch biscuit cutter.
No, biscuit cutters are not used. Depending on the cookie, they're either weighed and balled or scooped using ice cream scoops, thus creating consistently sized cookies each time.
The same size ball does not equal the same width or height. They could be pressed out differently. I would imagine they are pressed into the cookie cutter to ensure the same width and height.
I've never had one of these cookies, but they look divine....but I'm one of those few weirdos that don't like chocolate all that much and would choose the sugar cookie over a chocolate chip cookie any day. You mentioned making sugar cookies, have you already done a video on making that recipe?.... If not, would you please do one? Or supply the link if you have?
Hi there thank you for all the recipes. I would like to make request, The “Cookie Cookery” has the best chocolate chip cookies ever! I have made Mrs Fields cookies and many many delicious variations however nothing like those little delicious cookies from the cookie cookery. I traveled to Santa Maria Ca. Just to eat a cookie, however they recently closed. It would be amazing if you could possibly copy this recipe. I have never commented on a channel, my husband loves this channel and I love All Recipes 😊
I feel like cookies taste better when browned butter and brown sugar are used. Just gives “warmer” flavor- am I imagining that or does anyone else feel that as well?
I agree. Brown sugar adds moisture and lots of flavor to brownies as well as chocolate chip cookies. Nicole, love your recipes and videos! I also like cookies that are moist and chewy.
The crumble version is probably more puffy and less dark on the bottom because they undoubted use a professional convection oven in baking. Convection baking usually produces that outcome.
I just tried your recipe yesterday. I chilled the dough in the fridge for about 3 hours and then baked them. They still spread way too much; but they were delicious. A little too salty though. I think 2 teaspoons of Kosher salt was too much.
Yes, you can do the butter and sugar then eggs with a hand mixer. When I make a really big batch of chocolate chip cookies, I always mix in the flour mixture by hand into the butter, sugar and eggs. I don't like using the stand mixer for such a heavy dough so you will be fine. Good luck.
I messed up bad, I usually would watch the whole video first, then go back and bake along with the video. It went downhill after I accidentally dumped the flour without the baking soda and powder in the creamed butter and sugar😂. Then I didn't realize that 3 eggs were needed, I used one egg, mixing it wherever the flour didn't fall, As far the butter, I may have used a stick. 😂. What I did do was, mix it all together, made the ball, in the fridge for a few hours, took em out, cut them in half, baked them. They came out delicious!!!!!! Cute Lil cookies, soft and delicious. 😂🎉
I have ordered these cookies a few times and I believe they will eventually go out of business here. They don’t seem to be able to keep trained staff. The last two times I have gone the cookie was not decorated correctly and the peanut butter part to the cookie was just excessive and not as the business owner would have expected.
They use box cake mix for some of their cookies, and a cake recipe for the ones they don't use the box mix for. Highly overrated and to expensive. I will say there is one that I really like, the cornbread cookie which they rarely have.
At a certain point, you turn food into a gimmick. That's going too far. So I don't enjoy this kind of cookie. It's moving away from what I love in a cookie to become a special effects shot of a cookie. That said, I'm confident that Nicole's are MUCH better.
It’s funny, I am making these now… and you are so tiny that your hands make them look bigger in camera than they are for real…..lol ( my wife has “teddy bear fists” also!!
It's all hype really they just overload you with sugar. Too much frosting on the butter cookie. Don't like the chocolate chip cookie at all. The science of cooking is what people need to read to learn how to properly use ingredients, but today's society is lazy and just wants to buy their sweets, be broke and have nothing saved for retirement.
