I think you nailed them. I would have lent more for druid than warlock but yeah, rogue for Angela, Wizard for Bernadette with a find familiar spell. Paladin was particularly perfect. Thanks for this content
My comment has nothing to do with the content of your video, but I wanted to express my appreciation of what you do. It’s truly a real joy to learn from you, Abby and Bernadette. I have become an avid hand sewer. I have made several dresses, skirts, tops and other things, sewing each one by hand. I find it so relaxing and fulfilling. Learning different stitches has been a wonderful blessing. Thank you so much!
You dropped that pile of books down and I thought you'd actually managed to get sponsored by D&D, LOL. I think you nailed most of it, though I personally look at Abby more as a friendly Goblin than a Gnome. Thanks for scratching this itch! It was great to geek out a little with!
I love that this whole episode is all DnD. That makes me so ridiculous happy. I had thought possibly elf for Nicole and was leaning towards barbarian for Noelle, but that's cause I never play paladins so forgot about them, lol.
Hey, Morgan, I see you have Lords of Waterdeep there! My husband and I have never gotten into D&D, but we're huge boardgamers and LoW is one of my favorites.
Collab idea - You should now do a D&D session and have them all play their newly assigned characters. One practice session then one you film. Christmas special episode?
Litteraly my first thought watching this was "oh my goodness when are y'all starting a D&D podcast/RU-vid collab?" because now I want it from the depth of my heart, and it's all Morgan's fault.
Bernadette came back to New York - I think just for a visit ?! I think she owns her place in NYC - Might be a condo ?! (Amazing she could afford it ! NYC prices being what they are !)
Rachel Maksy is definitely a halfling (Hobbit), but she also has to be part of the wizard/creator guild as the girl can magically recreate things using such basic items and make them fantastical. I mean, give the girl some tin foil, clay, and spray paint and she will give you back some adorable bats to adorn yourself with or even a baby Yoda. And her conjuring, I mean editing, is always so cinematic.
This was deliciously nerdy and now madame you have me wanting to play D and D. The answers were interesting and the choices for everyone worked out well. I have only one question- What would you be in this troupe?
Everyone: selfies! Bernadette: … get a drone 🤣🤣🤣 This just cracked me up for some reason Edit: And later: I use my drone Morgan: your established drone Bernadette: yes 😎 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣
That was hilarious. Bernadette had much better luck with her familiar then I did when I tried to get my cat into a pair of bat wings. I tried to explain to her that since she is a black cat and it's spooky season that it's a prerequisite, but she wasn't having it.
morgan: ah yes i am a Sewing RU-vidr morgan: here is a video about making d&d characters based on my friends (and we love you for it, this was VERY charming)
Noelle being a dragon in a human form just fits and explains so much! Thank you for this cute vid it was wonderful to see you nerding out whilst showing the love you have for your friends
Lords of Waterdeep AND Betrayal at House on the Hill AND D&D?! wowow all fun possibilities for game nights! And you have a really good "gm voice" when asking the questions! You have a nice cadence and it felt really engaging!
I love how lately you do whatever you fancy, it's so cool! Don't feel pressured to do sewing video if you want to do other things, it's nice seeing your other side.
"You're Killing Me, Smalls" 🤣😂😅 Bernadette omg, hysterical...I am a D&D Mom...yes, I was that mom, that moved the furniture for the extended plastic table and chairs! That bought the Dr. Pepper and Pizza Rolls, for Dragons Night, and absolutely a Proud Mom of a 38yr old Dungeon Master Extraordinaire!
BRAVA!!!! I loved being the guild mother for my kids and their friends. We sponsored cadets from the US Air Force Academy. My table was always full of nerds on parade, telling stories and making memories.
Please for the love of everything do a session with everyone playing as their characters. Like I get that a full campaign would be a lot to ask for, but there are some really fun one-shots on DMs Guild that would be an awesome video.
I love how you fit artificer to the exact correct person. I've been thinking about playing one myself. I agree with your picks, they would make a legendary party. The only other character you would need is a barbarian or another fighter maybe. I think Rachel Maksey would make a heck of a bard.
I would nominate Rachel Maksey for barbarian or rougue. She has a great way of cutting to the heart of creative problems (thrift a thing and cut it up) and just attacking (diving into) new types of projects and challenges without any reverence for tradition or "the right way"
I adore this SO much, and would love to see a one shot lmao, just a stupid lil game for charity or something where the enemy is just like a really mean warforged that's based on sewing machines. But it does get me curious on how you'd answer, I'd love to know what kind of D&D character you'd be. While I can't presume your responses to the quetion I'm invisioning a half elf ranger, you're very down to earth and even though it's not a intellegence based class (because you're amazing at explaining things and making your videos accessable) the wisdom of the ranger, it seems like somthing that might fit you.
This was awesome! Is there any chance you might do a video or two as an absolute beginner's guide to D&D? I've tried to find one online that was accessible for me, but most assume more knowledge/experience that I have. I feel that you would be able to put yourself in the mindset of a real neophyte with D&D as you are able to with all things sartorial! Either way, the image of Ms Banner as an elf wizard will stick with me forever!!
Gosh, I haven't played D&D in 40 years. I gave all my books to my oldest son, who is now 40. We didn't have the time to play while he was growing up but he does now with his wife and friends. I enjoyed this video very much, it brought back some good memories. Yes, you made the right decisions, I could see everyone as you described.
I love that you spent time on this and I am giddy over that I just said, "yes, let's go I want to spend my time on this rather that doing something I should be doing". I don't even play D&D
This was so much fun! I follow most of the people you created backgrounds for, here on RU-vid or on Instagram, so it felt very familiar. And as a DnD player myself, imagining backgrounds like this is just great fun. I love that you asked your friends questions, but you also already had your own ideas about what their background would be. DnD can be a bit of a man's world sometimes so having some female (as well as any other genders as well) representation is always a good thing in my opinion! If you guys would ever be able to play (even just a oneshot) that would be incredible! Lots of love
Literally just got done with my DnD session, got home, watched this, really liked the Betrayal on haunted hill reference, wondering if Morgan and I are a copy paste situation XD
YAAAAY! I've only lately been obsessed with making wizards castles and random tabletop things, and I've never played D&D, but I bought myself the Starter Pack for my birthday a couple of months ago, and saw that I can't play by myself :( haha This video is EPIC Morgan! Thankyou!
LOVE THIS! I think I would have picked Evocation for Bernadette, and I think Nami could be a Bard. Noelle as a paladin fits perfectly though, as does fairy Angela. I might have picked Rogue and Ranger for Abby and Nicole, but I think your picks work too. I'm dying to see you all play a one shot now! Seriously, I offer to DM if you want.
I heard the opening music and just had a moment of, "Wait, this isn't just Morgan's music?" I was briefly confused that you weren't there. Also, hey D&D! Always a treat to see other people who play. Also, there's no Cleric/healer so their all dead, which I find hilarious.
Morgan you have such powerful DM vibes in this video, I am living for it! I hope you all get to play together sometime - tabletop games played online have basically kept me sane over lockdown, and I'm always thrilled to hear about other people getting into it
When Bernadette mentioned using a drone all I could think about was Caleb Widowgast and Frumpkin, so I think she needs a fey creature familiar. It's default form could be His Lordship, but if she needs it to be able to fly around and let her see things it would change form.
I love this vid. Content like this is a great way to be introduced to other creators. You speak of everyone with such respect and affection - it's a great endorsement! Also, a lot of my friends are into both historical crafting and D&D, so there's some relevant inspo in this vid 😊 Thank you for indulging your brain worm, and sharing the results.
SO much fun! Love the characters! Also yes, if you are in Oblivion and someone is stalking you -it's a shopkeeper, and they know what you're doing, you're not fooling them.
The game sure has changed a lot since I played last. Of course this was also before they came out with the D 20 system. All my husband and mine's books and all are based off the THAC0 system. Everyone already knows that Bernadette is a wizard, that much is a given, but to have it confirmed just makes it all that much better. 😁
Omg, I knew I loved that dress! I bought it 10 years ago when I was in New York, I got it in red, it’s so comfortable and flattering. I love Calvin Klein’s clothing but it’s so expensive. Thred up here I come 😂
This was fun! I was disappointed that you didn't include Cheon-Shik Yang, since I caught a glimpse of him. The only one of these people that I didn't recognize was Nami Sparrow. I've been following all the rest of you since I retired in May last year and discovered costubers!
Thank you so much for making this video. I've been wanting to play D & D (I wasn't allowed to way back in high school because D & D was black magic *eyes roll*). I really had no idea how to choose all the things you talked about but watching you think through the process was a giant "AHA!" for me. Now I have the confidence to dig out my husband's books and find out which of my friends also want to play. Yeah, I could have asked someone but sometimes my brain doesn't get an explanation as well as it gets a walk-through like you did.
I LOVED this video! I think you particularly nailed Noelle and Nicole's vibes. But... what are YOU??? I haven't played D&D in a very long time, but I am thinking half-elf druif or bard? Something artistic and whimsical - you'd live in a giant mushroom (of course), and your trusty greyhounds are statues that come to life when you need them. (I thinki you have greyhounds or whippets?)
Knowing very little about DnD (some, not a lot) and I agree with your thoughts - Nicole and Bernadette and Noelle most especially. However, what would YOU be?
My brain is exploding a bit. I’m seeing folks at Dandy’s party, but I’m also seeing Bernadette at her NY apartment. Is she keeping the apartment while simultaneously living in London, or have I totally missed something?
I have a gaming/comic store down in Keene, NH. If you’re ever down this way you should stop by! 🙃 Also, I totally want to make character sheet for everyone now.
This was great! And for the people I know, spot on. I was surprised to hear Nicole is short, she has tall vibes. I always imagine her being a good half head taller than me, if not more. Bernadette and her drone 😂 unexpected but very on brand!
I was doing the quiz and it was hard for me to pick one do I want to be in Westeros, Hogwarts, or any of these fantasy worlds, but at my core, I am a Mermaid 100%! This is why I would be in the world of the Late and Beloved Author of Helen Dunmore Ingo. I would be a healing Mermaid as well.
You forgot yourself! I think you guys need to plan some costumes and at least one game session. It's a big party of adventurers, perhaps you could split into a couple of teams for some side missions even. Thank you so much for this nerdy nonsense. I run D&D sessions for kids, homeschoolers and after school sessions. From 8 to 13yr olds. It is the best social therapy for all my neurodivergent players. Might have to show some of them this video. I historybound/costume for all our sessions to add to the fun.
This was so fun. Dungeons and dragons was very popular when I was in high school. I didn't know the people to play it with as they were a tight knit group, but it always fascinated me.
Heads up for other Canadians getting threadup, I did have to pay customs tax on each item. Was a year ago so I'm not sure if anything has changed now tho! Just in case lol
This makes me so happy but also so sad because I miss dnd, I use to play earlier this year but then the school took away our free period so now im going to have to wait for adulthood to form or join a new dnd group
So when is a video of you guys playing D&D coming out ? Loved your characterisations BTW.... I can just see Noelle wading into battle to defend her friends, a paladin in truth lol, and Nicole the Artisan is just so spot on. Oh and apropos of nothing other than I've meant to say this several times and keep forgetting. I love your hair!!! It suits you so well.
