Marine biologist here, The Sharkasaurus Rex legs on your model are about 1.5x as long as they should be, though the rest is pretty accurate. Keep up the good work!
As a marine biologist I would say it is probably closer to 2x longer than normal, seeing the angles he gives us. I think you forgot to carry the 3 over
Hey Adam, Paleontologist in training here, I think the legs you did are very accurate to that of a Rex, and the T. rex was a really good swimmer, so who knows, maybe sharkasaurus Rex fossils will be found in the future.
Normally, I feel like some bubbles in underwater resin scenes don't really detract from the piece overall, but I must admit there were a few unfortunate ones in this pour. But your fix with the red dye looked SO DAMN GOOD. I would wonder if you could replicate it on purpose it's so good.
The big bubbles are quite unfortunate but it makes sense if he's moving in the water at least. Like if we caught him in the middle of stepping on unnamed shark then it makes sense that there are bubbles around that leg
I had a dream last night and I was scuba diving in a Pokémon coral reef and was attacked by a sharpido and I woke up and thought “hmm I wonder if Adam would like this” and here I am
@@SylverScourge If we take this as a scale model and the sharkasaurus rex was actually that close to the surface, bubbles are also completely legitimate.
I actually like the air bubbles. When you move from surface to sea, as the Sharkasaurus Rex obviously does, you’ll have a ton of bubbles behind you. Actually, I wish there were more bubbles, mostly around the feet and tail, to give this piece a good sense of *movement.* Turned out perfect anyways!
Some of the bubbles just give the scene a sort of "movement" that it wouldn't have without them, and adding red blood-resin into that big bubble was a genius-level move. It looks great!
We need another sharkasaurus rex, like a hammerhead one so Paul doesn’t feel lonely! Btw, I really like the details on the shark! Same with the base floor and on the shark itself, I didn’t know the cuts without the plastic wrap would literally tear through the clay! Can’t wait to see more clay sculptures!
the red dye to hide the air bubble ended up looking SO GOOD! also this aquatic crafting got me wondering if you'd ever consider doing a 'monstrous' ariel from the little mermaid, or a monstrous mermaid in general? i'd love to see your take on some monster lasses!
These resin pieces are always so well done. The bubbles always work out in the end for you, in this piece they add movement imo. The way in which the red resin dispersed throughout the blue resin is also very effective. Also, since the 'sharkasaurus' has no blood near its mouth, it can be inferred that this apex predator sometimes hunts for fun or simply to eliminate other predators.
As a marine biologist, I can confirm that your model represents the majestic Sharkasaurus Rex quite accurately. I think it is important to mention, that in addition to being an apex predator, the Sharkasaurus Rex is also well known for being surprisingly stealthy given its massive size, as well as regularly committing tax fraud. Just a few fun facts™for any fellow science lovers out there.
The red resin makes it look even better in my opinion! The blood flowing in the water. 15:38 The distortion around the head makes it look like movement, too!
Sharkasaurus Rex? That sounds like an epic creation! Your imagination knows no bounds. I can't wait to see the terrifying Apex Predator in action. Your work never fails to amaze me!
Im surprised that you're able to make such... interesting creations every week. Though if you ever go out of ideas, a daddy long legs from rain world would be on the likes of your nightmare fuel powered creations
I actually do quite like the bubbles, seeing as it's underwater and, by the positioning, it seems to be part of an action scene, which would generate mare large bubbles underwater. Once again, this was amazing!
To be honest i like the bubbles, it adds movement and makes you think, not only is the creature farting but dam it can move fast even with those legs! I have no idea if that makes sense to anyone else but 🤷 Love the videos keep up the great work!
Sharks are older than dinosaurs, so if anything, the rex adapted to look like him! Also, would you call the marine biologists who study these magnificent apex creatures...Paul-eontologists? And thirdly, I actually love the air bubble underneath him! It gives the illusion that he's just crashed down on the other shark or brought his leg down onto it from above the water, and moved so fast the air bubbles haven't escaped from under him yet. Love the movement and direction it gives the whole piece!
When you started the epoxy, I thought about how cool the 'blood in water' effect would look. It was awesome to see you pulled it off without it being too overpowering especially with the accidental bubbles. GREAT WORK AS ALWAYS FELLOW ADAM!!
can you maybe make something from subnautica I just really love the game and want to see a clay sculpture from it it can be anything just and idea if you have none, if not that's ok if you read this thank you
I love this Garchomp regional variant. You can tell by the increase in the size of the jaw, tail, and legs that this beast was well suited for both land and deep ocean combat. In exchange for its flight capabilities it is now significantly stronger and tougher than its counterpart.
It has to be said, at this point I could not care less what kind of twisted monstrosity it is that this man has made, I know that I’m going to watch the video and enjoy the hell out of it no matter what it is. The narration is always top tier funny and entertaining.
5:53 "I am having a GOOD time!-" 7:58 "Admittedly it probably would've been a lot less harrowing to use a saw, but I couldn't find mine on account of not looking for it, so a knife will have to do-" 12:42 "-and hoping that my basic knowledge of grade school ratios doesn't fail me now." 14:02 "But we've also got Cole's Law, which is really just cabbage and mayonnaise-"
I know I'm late, but a way to try and prevent those unfortunate butt bubbles at 14:45 is to pour the resin so that it fills the area underneath Paul first. :)
"Of course, Paul is an Apex predator in the underwater hellscape that is the ocean." "--underwater hellscape that is the ocean." Ark Survival Players: "Truer words have never been spoken."
Idea: pouring coloured resin in stages is tricky because you get dividing lines, because you can't get the colour exactly right. Is it possible to mix the colour with only one part of the resin, then take a portion of that at a time to mix with the other part? Love your sculpture as always. He looks amazing❤
I was going to suggest the same as well . Theoretically speaking, by doing layers, he could have other things floating at different heights, if needed, without needing strings or other supports that might cause issues.
I honestly admire the fact that you use resin. I used it once and it was a complete disaster, that stuff is so hard to clean if it isn’t set. Anyway, you did a great job as always!
Nice save with the clouds of blood. They could have been played off as Paul is moving and made bubbles, but the way they look once filled in is unsettlingly good.
After so many failed resin pours, I'm starting to think you should try making a fake aquarium, like how they do it in museum displays. You did a pretty good job of saving this one, and the sculpting is amazing, as always, but it's a thought to consider.
Sharkasaurus Rex. Piscine Wyvern. 1218.2-1586.5cm. Resistant to water and dragon, vulnerable to thunder and fire. Though it lacks the world shattering hip checks of the Plesioth, it more than makes up for with staggering movement speed both on land and in water, as well as powerful lunging bite attacks. Armor Skills include Marathon Runner, Speed Eating, and Attack Boost
Hello Adam, Professional paleontologist here, Your Sharkasaurus Rex is pretty god, although in reality it was much larger, (aswell as it's farts), and the legs are a bit to long, but other than that its fine. :) (oh yeah, and I love your vids)
I aspire to be as good as you when it comes to sculpting. You've probably taught me more about sculpting than anyone else has, and I hope to one day come close to your level.
Fun "fact": The diminutive forelegs of the Tyrannosaurus Rex was a natural power limiter, as if it ever learned how to bench press it would have been unstoppable and ended up ruining the fragile 1970's ecosystem.
Thank you for producing videos of the highest quality nonstop I am addicted to your videos keep it up! :) North of the border all the way. Tiny Nerdy Things are so cool
This truly is the single greatest piece of content that has ever existed and it has fundamentally changed the way the world works. I'm glad to have been present to witness the cosmic shift in our understanding of space, time, and everything in between.
Seeing hints if the back, man you really did muck that up. But i think it's so cool how hard you try and spin the failures into successes. It may have looked really bad but i would have loved to see the other side and just ignored the flaws. I swtg resin is cursed but everytime you make a masterpiece with it. Thanks for making my Friday extra rad :)
You really should have copyrighted this design. It's an Asylum movie waiting to happen. They've probably already got it in preproduction based on this video.
I kinda wish you gave him webbed feet and webbed tiny t-rex arms, but either way, its still a horrifying to think this would ever exsist because shark's teeth never stop growing, but then still, it looks great! ❤👍👌😬😊
This is genuinely one of the cutest lil guys you've made so far on the channel and he turned out pretty great. And as for the bubbles, what ocean doesn't have bubbles and turbulence from all the movement? Phenomenal job all around.
You should make trolls but like realistic out of clay😊 if you don't I'm going to be super sad😢😢 but if you do I will absolutely subscribe to anybody that's your friend or something I don't know
So, what if you made a velocigator? I'm think like some terrifying hybrid that was genetically mutated to be the ultimate hunting machine. It looks like an alligator from the top, but when you look at it from the side, you see the large powerful legs and the wicked hooked claws. The velocigator can reach a top speed of 53 mph in jungle terrain.
My dude, this is so random and the sculp is so nice!!!! Awesome! And two small tips here: try making the form with less trim on the sides, and putting it to cure in a pressure pot/chamber, so that any bubbles inside the resin get squashed into imperceptible tiny sizes. The other one, try to seal the base and sculpture before you do any pours. Basically "painting" (quite a few methods to do the same, including just brushing it like paint) a relatively thin resin layer top of the sculpture and base and let it cure, displacing air as you apply it and trapping the rest inside the shell it becomes.
Love your work, you should try making some Resident Evil monsters, especially since the remake of Resident Evil 4 is out and would love to see you make Verdugo out of clay.
Cool. why another shark when you could have used humans. Nawa haha. funny. the bubbles are great. Great, the only thing I would change is making his gums and little more whitish pink and not so red
I like to imagine a whole lot of these do exist but they're trapped in a massive whole in the ocean so they've adapted to the pressure n cant leave if they wanted to
