If you get a cheapo harbor freight air gun you can dye those faded plastics back black and it won't fade fast. Hit it with the heat gun in small sections heat it up and immediately spray it with cold water in a bottle it locks in the gloss and will not haze over for a good amount of time ! .
You want lighter rollers. Lighter rollers means later shift in CVT, which will give you more acceleration. Also higher rpm clutch springs will help, you raised the powerband with the bore and pipe so need to raise the clutch engagement accordingly.
I absolutely love every video wether Huntertuned is going 8s 9s 10s in Ls swaps or turbo Hondas or just SENDING IT ON A SCOOTER TUCKED... true Gear head and REAL HOTTRODDER😎🤘🏿💪🏿
I dragged my 89 model out today it's got excellent compression .. a lot of the body parts are missing but I don't care I can make a ruckus looking thing out of it.. first thing I know this is your intake . Where it bolts onto the case your intake had 4 bolts My engine has 2 bolts. I need to find an exhaust as this one doesn't have one and I have to use a carburetor off of a qa50 until I find the right one the q a carburetor works perfect
I didn't like how my oil pump plug fit so I smacked it with a hammer and chunk of wood and it seemed to sink much deeper in the hole. No need to fasten it other ways. Also I notice you have red and yellow springs going on. Just stick to yellow for the clutch and contra from my understanding they are rated for the same rpms. That would be your "roller issue" you previously thought. I'm aware this is 2 years ago but there's people watching it in the future going by your almost every move in the video. Maybe make an update video? I'll look for it if I'm being redundant lol
You should have ported that 3rd port on the case. It's good your putting 32:1 premix, rather have a bit of oil for safety measure. Piston got stuck cause it might have needed more time breaking in and jetting. Good stuff though, miss my 2T peds. 😭
I'm not a big scooter fan but I am a big hunter tuned fan LOL I've got 2x early 80s big four air-cooled Hondas projects have been working on one's almost finished and then I can start on the second one, 83 cb1000 C and 82 cb900f that'd be cool if you had a chance to do any old Cafe Racer builds might be cool content for the channel or maybe I'm the only guy who likes old '80s Honda cafe racers😅
I would hope any one would break in anyting piston rings you name it ,if it's new metal to new metal it's new it needs to wear in slowly not be forced..
Nice build. That pipe dies out past 45, excellent for wheelies. Rollers should be somewhere around 7-8 g. Are those 2k clutch springs? Way to much, try 1500k. Should have more torque, sounds like there is no short gear. how much is your belt moving b4 clutch engages? Stock carb pilot cant be chnaged, 68 restricted, 78 unrestricted, yeah like a 90+ mj. when we do a big block kit with stock carb turn air screw into 3/4 out. Since you can't change pilot you'll need to riching up that. Personally I ran on the third notch of needle to make sure mid range was good. Very informative video I'll be back to check in 🤙🏽🔥
LOL I hear you Roxy🧐😁 with all this great weather we've been having I'm almost ready for a road trip to Oshkosh from Texas I would bring the b20v CRV for a Dyno tune and some content for a video I'd also be down to bring one of the cafe racers if you would be willing to help me work on it maybe it'd be some cool content for a video I could stay a couple days and train Roxy while you're working on some Hondas for me
I have the same kit on af16 you should be able to go 65mph, & I noticed you didn’t install the 3rd ring behind the bottom ring, your gunna have blow by on the piston
you say at the end of the video that the new gearing isnt too good since it doesn't take off of the rip, how a cvt works, especially on a smaller motor is that it doesnt have power like that to open up easily. i can tell your weights are off but just your general operation of the vehicle in general is far off, you're not supposed to bottom gun it to full throttle at a complete stop. doing this initially drops your weights very quickly which makes you rev more without output, starting by cracking the throttle then holdin it to a quarter, giving the cvt time to open up correctly, this lets you get that right ratio to your cvt. once you start to pick up speed after hearing the cvt open up 4-5 seconds after take off, gradually give it more gas so the carburetor smoothly makes the mixture instead of abrubtly. This is even proven with cars, you dont get more acceleration by bottom gunning it, you get more by easing into it.
You need a polini carburetor and big valve reed intake kit your very limited without it. And I have the 16/42 gears, 7g rollers, sc2 26mm carb I do 68 mph, wheelies 0-30 all day with ease
The one that goes 35 may have an extra washer on the cvt end inside the crank case which shrinks the final gear. Easy way to tell is if the rpms are higher at 35 than rpms of the 45 mph one at 35. The washer Also helps with takeoff a little bit but it's not worth the extra 5-10 mph sacrifice. Sadly, the elite 80 does not have many options for mods but the speedometers usually read low. The spark plug check can tell you if your main jet is too large of little. Dry bright brown is lean and wet black is rich. This can make or break a few mph. My elite 80 goes 45 reliably and has gone 50-51 on really good days but the rpms are screaming. Some cvt combo with a gy6 150cc variator and gy6 50cc belt might help with top end and bottom end, depending on how you do it, but your options are limited. I've learned to be pretty content with it since they usually read really low and are going faster than you think. I've buried the needle in an elite 50 like the one in the video and the elite 80 was ever so slightly not keeping up with it (reading 49-50ish)
@@HunterTuned as I said earlier I have a nineteen eighty-nine one of those, I'm from trade it's got really good compression your intake has four bolts on the case were mine has to that's okay I'm just wondering about the differences. You inspired me to go out and push mine into one of my bedrooms and start working on it
@@HunterTuned I run 25:1 in my peds. Do you think you'd see more power by running more oil in yours or no? Was curious if you did any carb tuning to this yet
