Greetings from Petersburg! I agree with the previous statements. You, consummate master, really tell us a lot without uttering a single word. Thank you! Excellent selection.
@@earomc As a person who was born and lives in Leningrad, now in St. Petersburg (this is a city that suffered a fascist blockade for 872 days), as a person who has relatives in Ukraine and as a former officer of the USSR Armed Forces, I think a lot about the war in Ukraine. BUT! THIS CHANNEL! NOT ABOUT THIS!!! And there is no need to carry this topic here. PLEASE!
From all people around the world whom missed some unique detail/details: I hate you so much. Each I-make-a-new-one in your videos hurts like hell. Worst part that I can't stop watching and those are my favourite moments. *complicated engineering feelings*
So satisfying to watch! Can you make a workshop tour once? I would be very interested in how you sort all of the tools and machines you have. Maybe a suggestion for a new video? Lots of love from The Netherlands! ;)
Hey, if your willing, you should see if you can make a guest apperance in the safety third podcast, by william osman and backyard scientist. I would love to hear your stories. Like your mistakes, injuries, near misses, etc. I feel like you could interact with that side of youtube very interestingly.
I always watch, and am enthralled by, your videos. The talent and vision on display is mind-bending. Speaking as someone who can just about sharpen a pencil without breaking it.
Imagine my delight upon waking up and finding a 36+ minute "I Make a New One" compilation from my favorite restoration channel! It's going to be a good day.
I appreciate your attention to detail, understanding the properties and elements of everything, manufacturing steel or any component and finishing to the highest quality standard.... you are the "Best in the World" -- thank you
That was a thrilling treasure of a compilation. After your door bell yesterday I thought I might go back and start at the beginning (again) and watch them all again and then this today! I also realized you have almost .5 Billion views and over 3M subs, in 3 years of your Exemplary restorations with so much attention to detail and first class videography. Congratulation to you and a Big Thank You for so many hours of education, incredible work, dedication to your craft, and sharing it with us. I guess I'm not the only one who gets the quality standards you set! 😇😉😁
Hello from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania! Love your channels and love the perfect restorations and incredible work you do! Always look forward to your videos!!
Absolutely true! Level of skills on so many different fields, quality of work, and mere fact that some pretty common things he turns into art masterpiece. Simply amazing!
The scooter and Hand Hammer drill were two of my favorites. Just a phenomenal job. Also the fit up on that Screw Driver was just unreal. I like how you think ahead and plan it all out. By far one of the best, if not the beat restoration, engineering channels I've ever seen. I cant wait to see what's next. I've watched all of your videos at least 3 times each lol. I wish to one day know how to do what you do. Great work as always buddy. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 Bravo. Take a bow lol.
I really enjoy your precision and detailed presentations of the complex work you do for each video. I also notice how in each video, your work space is always neat and clean. The time and effort it must take in addition to making such works of art shows how dedicated you are to what you do!
My father introduced me to metal fabrication techniques more than 40 years ago, when we made a close-focus accessory for my camera (it was one of the most pleasant afternoons we had together). He died before RU-vid came on the scene, but I can say that he would have LOVED watching your work--further, I bet he'd have marched out and purchased a lathe and mill thanks to your example. :)
Wow how lucky are we! 3 videos in 1 week😊 😍. Thank you so much for putting these together. You really are a wizard. Your eye for detail and skill is amazing. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🇦🇺
*Question MM:* since you make so many parts while restoring items, would you consider making something from scratch i.e. *every single part?* Something you're interested in, or that you have a passion for; maybe b/c of it's *historical significance, or it's uniqueness,* or an item you've always wanted to restore, but you've never come across yet? *Possible?* Btw; thank you for this video; *well done.*
00:27:00 How did I never realize until now that you have 2 Lathes?!!! For some reason my mind never correlated that despite watching literally every one of your videos!
I was just watching another restoration channel, where the guy restored an old toy truck. The metal-framed windshield had snapped off, and at one point in the video it showed that he found a used replacement, that he then cleaned up and chromed. What went through my mind was this. "Broken. I make new one!"
Just a FYI..... His " I make a new one" T-shirts are amazing. The quality of the material and the ink they used to print on them holds up very VERY well... I bought one, I don't know, maybe 8 months ago, and it still looks 99% new. I highly suggest that you get one, they are great and I love the looks of people who actually "get it" when I'm out in public wearing it. Thanks MM, you're amazing.
This is the best part of the channel. It should be the name of the channel. I Make A new one Well thinking it twice, it would lose completely the "I'm restoring something old" vibe maybe it was a bad idea, but for me it's the best parts of the videos.
Excelentes trabajos, miré el vídeo totalmente fascinado por la calidad de lo que haces y eso que vi los vídeos enteros anteriormente. Saludos desde Argentina
Only two places on earth outside the U.S.A that I would live is Panama(but only on my own island) or Switzerland!(Not from pictures but from my own feed on the soil, see it with my own eyes!) Always great video content MM with these " I MAKE A NEW ONE.." video's!
Hey! Not sure if you like to take on large projects; in the coffee enthousiast world, grinders are a big thing. Beautiful machine work for perfectly aligned burrs for the best grind. Boutique shops have figured out that market. Can you make one yourself? Take a look for example at the Weber EG-1 or Levercraft Ultra grinder. You'd need to buy burrs from SSP and prob a motor too. Would be friggin awesome!!
I'm sitting here, with my jerk chicken and vanilla milk shake, wondering if I should watch this first, or Steve1989's 2 new videos. What a lovely Saturday evening deliberation.
Maybe you should sell merch on this channel? Make a small set of nuts, bolts & screws, and charge 30 bucks. I'd buy some, and probably just display em on a shelf.
I generated a table of all the combinations of four gears each of 13 to 200 teeth; if you'd like a combination for 26 TPI on your big lathe tell me pitch your leadscrew is and I'll check.
@8:47 Why did you decide to weld the handle shaft to the arm instead of making it longer and then peening it? I'm guessing do to forces involved with cranking the handle. Is it possible to loosen over time if it were peened? Thanks!
It took me way too long to realize you do actually have an 'a' in this saying. I have no idea why, but it was several episodes into your backlog before I did, and the really crazy thing is my dad did the exact same thing when I showed him your videos. I genuinely don't understand it.
Hello, hand in hand. It's amazing. I work on the lathe, but I don't have a good camera. Can I take the video from your channel and post it on my new channel?

Even though that im late, can i ask at what RPM do you run your small steel pieces when cutting with carbide, your finnish looks really nice nearly all the time (im so far an amateur machinist and cant really get a nice finnish with carbide under a certain diameter without using a relatively big radius insert)
It’s so interesting to see how things are made from scratch. Is there anything you can’t make? I can only make babies and I’m only 50% chance on a boy or a girl.
