Congrats to TheLateBoyScout for his inexpensive and easy to build design. I was inspired to build one after watching SnakeStrike77 and his son Breaking Dawn put one together in a video. I actually spent $16.73 on the materials for this target stand. If you want a target stand that is easy to make and transport to the range then this is it.
NEED:
Qty. Item:
1 - 10 foot length of 1.5" PVC Pipe.
2 - 8 foot lengths of 1in x 2in Pine.
4 - 1.5in PVC Ts
2 - 1.5in PVC Elbows
Tape Measure, Marker, and a Saw (cut Wood & PVC)
Here are links to the D.I.Y. video by TheLateBoyScout & SnakeStrike77:

Those were the good old days ha. I just actually just purchased the materials today at Home Depot to make one of these using your exact bill of materials and the total cost is now almost $37.00. Almost a 120% increase in 11 years!!!

I made this stand, except 20 inch wide for rifle targets. So a 10 ft piece and a 2 ft piece covered it. Home Depot and Lowes bothe sell 2 ft pieces. For weight I filled a couple old socks with small gravel and slid them into the bottom parts. I also only glued the feet and top pieces, so I can pull off the top piece and lay them down for transport. Cut the 1x2's to 5 ft. Perfect !

@crusader68 I have used this stand on two trips out the range and it does work quite well. With all the weight down low it holds up to wind quite well. Has not blown over in any wind yet and both trips had some wind blowing. Yes, you could fill the tubes with rocks or sand to help weight it down more. Just pour it out when your ready to break them down and pack up.

Good deal; now I found the ideal solution to stash it in the garage.

Really good idea; Last night I was trying to draw up some plans, and this design surpasses my all wood one. Any mods on filling the bottom PVC with a kwik concrete or something to help it with weighting it down? How does it hold up to light winds?

@Vhammer2010 I have to say LBS's Target Stand design is simple and easy to transport. I took the one I made out to the range and it worked like a champ. Plus is came back home without any damage. p.s. I hope to get my video response to your contest in later this afternoon.

Very nice. LOL, my spitting and cussing is usually reserved for working on the car... I didn't quite follow LBS's design, either way they are great for ppl with short supply of transport area. Great vid, bud.

Well, give it a try on a windy day and see which design you like best.

@mizooch70 I have a Ford Ranger Pick-up. The sticks are 5 feet long for the target stand I made. I would hope they fit in your jeep.

Overcomplicated. Take one eight foot long two by four. Cut in equal lengths. Decking screws to make it look like a Roman Numeral Two with the inside pieces wide enough to accept furring strips. You're good to go. Four dollars. Another: Buy garden fence posts from Home Depot. Stick in ground. Put styrofoam picnic plate on the upper clip. Three dollars. Good to go.

How is making a few cuts complicated? Plus my version sounds much sturdier and able to handle windy days better then your design.

at this point it's more like $20

I'd just keep the wooden stakes 8ft, and sharpen the bottoms if needed and push them in the ground. All the pvc seems pointless really. I'd save the money and bit of time to buy more pellets and go shooting. Booya
