Beautiful land especially where the sun is shining down through the trees. Just know your granpa was very proud of the man you are for God Family Country and your keeping of the old ways on the land. You’ll get it done!! That’s just who you are.
The truth about a farm/homestead, there is always some challenges! Looks like the cows will have a lot to eat down there! We just fenced off another new pasture here too so my goats will have enough to eat!! You do what you gotta do! Beautiful little road!!
To keep your fences in good shape you really do need a road for access. I've been working on roads and trails for a long time, to build and repair fences,but its been worth the effort. Wow, that's a story you can tell your grandchildren one day, Good Lord Willing. Glad you got out,&home, safe. Hope you have cell phone service down in those hollers. If not, you may want to write mama a note when you're going in the deep Backwoods that way. As U know tractor work in rough Terrain, can be hazardous. The new road and fence will be very profitable for years to come. Good watch/ video.

I wish I could have, We had been getting rain everyday. Seemed like it didn’t want to just rain it had to be a wash out down pour every time! Dried out some now and this week is super hot
I’ve got to give it to you I would be on high stress if I bought my tractor down through where you did, but the truth is I’m going to have to do what you are to get to our original rite of way that avoids the creek that is prone to overflow the bank. Mountain problems that only mountain people can really relate to. Like needing time to look for artifacts! That hits home with so much history in these places and so much work. So many things just found on the surface after rains or just yard work. I can relate with you on that. 🤔
Oh my God, that scared me. I thought the cat was dead. I really hope you don't get an erosion after you make your road. That is a lot of work. I wish you had someone with you while you are working on the road. Just in case.
We had so much rain here in NW NC that my taters got the hollow heart. Insides of the tubers got them a star shaped hole where the tater grew so fast the plant couldn't keep up with growth. Road is looking good! Y'all got clay up there in KY? It looks like you do. Whenever clay gets wet down here we can't get nothing done. Slicker than dog snot, as you seem to have found out haha. I trick I use if I get stuck in some mud (before burying the tire) is to stick snowchains on. Those give you a little bit of traction boost to at least get unstuck.
