The problem I notice is that, more often than not, is the entitlement mentality of kids and teens raised around money or of money, and I know if I had a lot of MONEY, and my children wanted something that I could easily afford it would be hard to tell them no hence encouraging the sense of entitlement which later becomes spoiledness and rebellious when they finally hear NO told to them.

*One of the most important things that I have done as an adult is decide to look at my parents as JUST human beings. I’ve sat and thought about their stories, their trauma and their pain, the things they’ve told me and the things they may never tell me and it has helped me to understand that they are just trying to figure out life like me. We put them on pedestals because they are our parents but above that they are just human beings. I don’t have a great relationship with my dad, I could hate him for it but I don’t because I understand that people can’t give you what they do not have, for him to better than his own parents he would have had to make an active decision to do so and some people either don’t have the insight, the know how or the ability to see beyond their own pain, having a child doesn’t erase our parents trauma and I love MYSELF enough to not hate them for that.*
@vickyserr
@vickyserr 5 месяцев назад
I resonate 100% what you wrote, this is why I’m able for it not to affect me so much as an older adult. We don’t have a handbook on how to love or parent, I love my parents for the people they are, none of us are perfect. I’m ok with the decisions my mother made and I’m not bitter, my father is a whole different story however when I look at his childhood I understand how he is. You are right, self love is the most important thing, once we do this, we won’t look to anyone else to validate us.

This was a beautiful interview ,to see 2 black individuals having open dialogue sharing their truth and allowing vulnerability to be part ,is a beautiful. Love how they both shared with each other on how to overcome whatever the other person was trying overcome or given each other better ways on how to handle things. I like how Nia touch on forgiveness because forgiveness plays a major role when walking through a healing journey and forgiveness isn't for the other party its for self/you. This was Awesome!!! Very Mature interview.

I also remembered seeing comments about this so-called chemistry between him and Nia. I watched this entire interview, and what I saw was simply two grown adults having a real conversation. I think the internet is always quick to stir up drama and make insinuations. Neither of them crossed any lines of flirting or anything. It was very professional and very real.

The issue is that black men can't speak. You saw the evil that came from Kevin Samuels providing a platform for men to speak? Black women danced on his grave for simply shining a light on the mental illness and ludicrous ideology our women and men have adopted. When a man cheats, he deserves any abuse or punishment he gets. When a woman cheats, women ask her what the man did wrong! When a man is abused, he should handle his emotions and leave. When a woman is abused, any reaction she gives is justified. When a man opens up, we hear, "who hurt you" or he's Zesty.When he addresses his woman's issues, most times it turns into a conversation about how we hurt her feelings by bringing up ours. Now we have to make her feel good, and we haven't had our issues addressed. We have created a society that shames men for speaking up. When we say we want feminine and fit women, we are told we are being disrespectful. When we say we want the whoredom to stop, we are told we are too weak for a real woman. We have to fix the communication issues at the root of this before any healing can happen. It's a reason men bottle up emotions, bc where can we be heard? If this wasn't Jeezy, he would be shamed. The pro Boxer TerrenceCrawford opened up about how his mother never said he loved her, how she paid boys to beat him up, how she would say he would never be anything like his father. If not for the men of that community that uplifted him, he would be another statistic. We have to stop raising kids without good fathers, these deadbeat fathers are the equal to the mothers. Water seeks its own Level. We see the pain that hits men, and they carry it for life. I hope we can fix this before it's too late, I've all but given up. My mom was such a great example of a woman, and I can't believe I can't find another soul that hasn't been corrupted with the modern day narcissistic tendencies and delusions of grandeur
