Yep you guessed it... I bought them all from Sendico - bit.ly/3lPV9Qb I always require GameBoys "in stock" for future mod videos or projects as well as giveaways! So they are going to a good home! #GameBoy #TheRetroFuture #Retro
Just so you know Elliot, you are actually speeding a really good cause, the fact that you are preserving nintendo's history by obtaining Gameboys and restoring/cleaning them up means that we'll never run out of them :)
The rechargeable battery in the platinum GBA is actually not a rechargeable battery. It's just a pass-trough for an official, Nintendo mains power supply for GBA. It is physically very well made but the brick is huge, and heavy, the mains cable is THICK and it's permanently attached along with the GBA-side cable, which all in all makes it quite a bit unwieldy. Oh, and you can hear it buzz through the GBA's speaker/headphones.
I make sure i just have every model, maybe 2 or 3 if they ae different variations, but i normally buy lots, refurb, keep some and sell the rest. Also nice pfp
That gameboy pocket with the tamagotchi stickers does look incredible! So nice to find one in such good shape, I was thrilled when you said you'd be leaving the stickers on! Congrats on the great pickups, I've loved using sendico this year!
The problem with those AV jacks is that there is no standard way that they are configured, some have the video contact on the sleeve, some on the tip etc. It might just be that you need a different cable (or you can try switching the leads on the other end).
Last time I went to my parents' house I pickup of my translucent purple childhood gameboy color because thanks to your channel I have confidence that I can make it a thing of my childhood dreams. Cheers!
build your specialist handheld gaming room.... im wait for it haha... you has done many random gameboy build.. now build the home for it have a nice day
Agreed Elliot - definitely worth you doing another WonderSwan video, perhaps focusing on which games are English language or are puzzle games that don't require you reading Japanese. I picked up a B&W WonderSwan at the Play Expo I met you at, and can defo recommend Gunpey and Puyo Pop 2.
Wonder Swan is a nice little system. I didnt get the color one though. About 6 years ago i got a black and white one with 3 games for 12 bucks. Theyre probably a lot more expensive now.
I remember being curious about picking up a gba a few years ago, average price was between £15-£30, and I had to pay nearly 40 for one recently (after a successful ips mod on my gbc, gonna try the phone gba too). I think you may have single handedly contributed to the price going up lol. And you're cleaning hundreds yourself too. Cheers elliot.
6:14 if i didnt knew it better i would say the stickers have to be there, keep them on it and maybe make sure they dont fall of just get another DMG colored one
Imagine if you fit a gameboy advance into a gameboy color (but obviously shorten the back of the gameboy case so probably use a custom gameboy shell for both but idk)
Hi love the videos just bought a Nintendo Gameboy Advance Flash Game Cartridge EZF Advance Realtime and it needs a gambling to usb cable any advice on how to make one thanks mike
In the distant future a lot of people will wonder "WHERE DID ALL MY GAMEBOYS GO? I HAD ONE ON THE COUNTER AND IT JUST DISAPPEARED" But in reality their gamebos were always in hands of the might Elliot, teleporter of GameBoys. His power devastated millions and he is still not in jail for his hideous crimes against Nintendo.
I hope to see a repair of the mini TV on the main channel! Also, how does GameBoys get a burned screen especially if they've almost never been played on?
what is it that causes the screenburn? I have an old DMG that has survived several summer vacations at the beach, and while the case and lense are scuffed to all hell, the screen is pretty much prestine compared to any of your GBs.
I've always had a weird soft spot for the Wonderswan, it's not amazing just because of how much the GBA eviscerated the handheld market but it's certainly an interesting little device
Can you do a DS lite clear case mod tutorial? They are everywhere for cheap, USD $20-40 and clear mods seem to be like $15-20 here as well. Would love to do one as my first official mod, but I'd rather have a tutorial from you to go by. Just ordered my 7th DS system, excited for it to arrive sometime soon. Keep up the great work!
Hey Elliot, I bought some stuff from Sendico based on your many videos mentioning them (and being sponsored by them). Seems like a really cool service. However, I've got a question: In my tracking (JP Post), the package was shipped on the 6th, and the last tracking update was on the 7th, and there's been no updates since then. Just wondering if this is "normal" or not? I realize Covid could be a big factor, but it seems odd to me. Especially since it hasn't seemingly left Japan yet.
