For 2023 decided to get in shape, at 56 years old it's not easy. am using a peloton but I wanted a knee lift and dip station. Since live about 35 miles from the nearest Gym I made one for my self! I used 2"x2" tube steel for the build. thank you!

Not to be a nitpick, I love your content and I'm impressed by the visible - for lack of a better word - rejuvenation you have undergone. That being said, if you're doing dips (or similarly pull ups/chin ups) on a regular basis, try not interlocking your feet. I know all too well it's a hard habit to get rid off, but in the long run it helps with balance and avoiding asymmetrical strength/muscle development

As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Publish a dense book full of all your tips and tricks. Cover the gamut: book-binding, metalworking, finishing, woodworking, mold-making, power tool hacks, etc etc. I'll buy it. We all would.

Good for you! You can buy the tape for wrapping bicycle handlebars, it might make the handles easier on your hands. FWIW, I've also been a client of Noom, and it's a brilliant program.

This is awesome - 3x👍! I generally hate ADs, but approaching my sixth decade I break for anything that promotes a better diet and regular doses of resistance training and steady state cardio. I bought a good chunk of gym equipment for my home gym and kept thinking "a welder could do amazing things" - you proved me right! Don't skip leg day! Deadlift, squat or even leg press is great - RPE always 8 or less! Keep safe - stay healthy!

At like 8:30 in I was sitting there thinking, one of these days Jim is going to paint something a color other than black and it's going to totally catch me by surprise. Today was that day! Wow, talk about big changes afoot. hahahaha. I'm the same age and doing the same. At some point I just decided to stop flooding my body with all the sugary crap and after a while it just becomes the new norm. Now the smallest of treats on rare occasion or even a sweet piece of fruit is amazing!

Attach a resistance band across the handles when doing dips, then seat your knees on it while moving. It takes some of the weight off and you can have more effective sets. As you get stronger you won’t need the bands anymore.
