I'm so grateful that I get to occasionally work with brands I actually like to create sponsored videos. Their direct support helps keep this channel afloat in the ever unstable world of RU-vid ad revenue. These videos will always be disclosed, of course, and I appreciate everyone's kind support for these partnerships. Royalty Soaps also participates in commission or discount affiliations, like Amazon or RewardStyle, as these opportunities become available, like Amazon and RewardStyle and while the money we make with these links isn't much, every little bit counts and once again, we really appreciate your support! These products will always be marked and disclosed with a "✦".

Katie didn't you teach you husband, your brothers, and your staff how to make soap? If you taught them, and they make the gorgeous soaps you sell, of course you're good enough to teach us! I think the value in you teaching us, is YOU. Because we love YOU. Hope that helps.

I'm so sorry I accidentally hit dislike on this. I don't know if you saw the notification of it getting a dislike but then I fixed it. I meant to click like and my finger slipped. 😂 My cat is right next to me and she's known for headbutting my hand that is holding my phone but that is not what happened. Opinions! 1) Like some others have said, either lighten the "main" yellow color so the poured yellow is more distinct against it, OR change the poured yellow to a green for a more "plant" feel. 2) Wallpaper. Depends on what vibe you want. The first paper with the big botanical print is better if you want the walls to be their own statement and room accessory. The middle paper with the subtle pattern is better if you want to put a lot of accessories in the room and on the walls - it won't compete. The third paper - I'm just not a fan of. Sorry.

I 100% agree with you. Being as unbiased as possible on the last one though, it would be somewhere in the middle. You could get away with hanging 1-2 small/medium, cool neutral items but getting them to line up right with the studs AND wallpaper would just be a pain.

Honestly, I feel proud that I became a soap maker. I have eczema, like you, and mine is triggered by cheep fragrance. So everyone who manufactures on a large scale, including lush, isn't an option. I needed to control what was in my soaps so I had to make my soap. I had absolutely no idea where to start; because how do you do research when you don't know what to ask. Then you came in and you where an absolute god send. When you made the academy, I cant tell you how much you saved me, my skin, and my sanity. You made it inexpensive and extremely easy, and every document you've attached, every website you've pointed out, and every product you buy you tell us where its from; has been extremely helpful and that has made all the difference in every bar I make and use. So I hope with every fiber of my being that you don't doubt any video you make will be not be useful, because they have been and I'm sure they will continue to be.

You said it right there. ANYONE could teach how to make soap, but whether or not to trust them is another story. Katie's been making soap for ten years, runs a whole business, and has taught her family/employees the way to make soap. What seals the trust factor most for me though, is how adamant she is about safety.

It is actually helpful to have the option of multiple people giving tutorials on the same subject. You will explain it in your own way, which is bound to click with some people’s learning styles, even people who had trouble really understanding the other tutorials! And for a craft like this where there is some investment and caustic substance involved, I would want to watch as many tutorials as I can to get a well rounded understanding from multiple perspectives. You absolutely have lots to offer the soaping tutorial space, Katie! Go for it!

I like the first wallpaper, it's very pretty on its own, I think the second one is good if you want something that you can easily add to (art, mirror etc). Stay away from the third one tho :P With the soap definitely add a little more white to the yellow and add a lavender drizzle, it might not need the glitter. The lavender bits could also be concentrated on the top (middle) of the loaf.

Hey! I haven't watched your tutorials on soap making but I wanted to encourage you to make more. There's always always going to be room for more informational content. You have many years of experience under your belt and, speaking from an artist's perspective, it's extremely valuable and helpful to hear different people share information about their craft. You might share a little detail or nugget of information that sticks with another soap maker indefinitely! Also, if you're worried about repeating yourself or putting out information that already exists, repetition isn't a bad thing in education. That information is there for those who seek it out BUT you might have an explanation that resonates better or a perspective someone hasn't explored yet. Please do it! Thanks!

I love the neutral acorns floral. It leaves you more space visually for pictures, mirrors... kid art? :D You should make teaching videos that are just what you do and just what you know. Some of us prefer you and the way you do things. It doesn't really matter if EVERYONE loves them... not everyone buys your soaps or likes your videos. I know that for me I'm a basic and totally newb at soaping and making lotions and balms. I can ONLY tell the difference in lotion which oils I used. Some are frankly more oily. In soap I agree with you, I like milk soaps for shaving, so does my boyfriend (so legs AND face) and otherwise I've had some really expensive stuff and honestly didn't like it as well as the $10 bar of milk soap from my local swap meet. LOL Teach us with what YOU do. What's the overused phrase? You do YOU boo? xoxo

My two cents. I'm not a soap artist, but I do work with color as a crocheter/knitter and amateur (extremely amateur) watercolor artist: I would lighten up the main yellow just a bit-think the inside color of a lemon; keep the lavender and the inner yellow the same and add a lavender drizzle to tie together. I think that would give more a feel of Lemon-lavender that you're looking for. As for tutorials: I am not looking to start a new craft right now, but I have watched the tutorials you have done, and they are wonderful. You explain everything so well. I've watched other creators' tutorials, and they may give the "technical terms" and such, but you are so much more relatable. Do what you feel comfortable doing. Finally, I love the wallpaper on the far left. :)

I think when people ask for a tutorial, and granted there are thousands of other videos and channels that show the exact same thing, but when people ask someone specific for a tutorial it’s because they want to see that specific person. We want to see the exact way that you do things, which even though there is some sort of same basic way on how to do something, every single person does it differently, and that’s the beauty of it! I learned how to make soap with your videos, so I think you’re a great teacher. I think teaching intermediate techniques is a wonderful idea. Another option is teaching your approach to color. Like in today’s video you mentioned how you always add more purple than you think you need to achieve your desired color payoff. Maybe you can explain why you often mix neons with other colors to anchor them, or even just explaining what you mean by anchoring. Maybe the videos will be shorter, but I think you do such a good job of explaining things. I truly appreciate how much I’ve learned from you already!

I'm 100 percent positive that the tutorials you provide would bring value to your channel and business! People would watch it just because it's YOU who made it. Plus you have a vast knowledge of what not to do in keeping us safe while making the soap where as the others may not include that in their tutorials. I'd love to see how to measure the oils because I really don't understand 30% of whatever amounts to in measurements.

The first wallpaper is the best!!! It totally fits your vibe. I wouldn't change the greenness of the yellow but I would make it lighter and add more darker yellow. Purple drizzle on top would look cute

I have never made soap and I don't see myself ever making soap,, I watch your videos because you are entertaining and knowledgeable and watching an artist create something so colourful and unpredictable as soap is fascinating. I have been watching your videos for years and I never stop them before you boop the screen , that is my favourite part. Please don't overthink what to make because you have a following of people who just love to see you at work. You don't need to change anything

Katie I JUST finished making the academy soaps for the very first time!! my drop swirl loaf is setting as I type. I loved following your tutorials - you're so kind and you explain things so well. I also really appreciated the focus on safety and the reminders in each episode. I would love if you made some slightly more intermediate designs for us to follow!

I like the first wall paper choice. And your soap is lovely, as always! And as far as teaching goes, I'd love to learn from you. Each soaper, even if someone else has taught on the same thing, has something new and fresh to bring to the table, no two people are going to do things exactly the same!

I love the look of this soap! The swirl in the middle is my favorite. I think it would be pretty to have the main color as a more cream white with the yellow and purple swirled in and leave it simple with just the lavender buds on top.

Katie, other soap makers, to me, don’t go into detail about soap making like you do. I learned how to make soap from you. I watched your videos for about 2 years before I tried it. Now I am trying to master soap frosting from you.

When starting a new hobby, I've found that I can't watch enough tutorials and having a bunch from a lot of resources helps get a better understanding. You may explain something slightly differently than someone else but between the two resources, the audience gets a deeper understanding.

So my example is I have been trying to learn to knit since I was 16- so over 22 years now. I tried in so many different ways, in person, online, different levels and different teachers. And now that I can knit! Woohoo. I tell people- if the way one teacher doesn't click with you, it doesn't mean you can't knit, it means to try another teacher. And another. And another. Until you find just the right one where their words and teaching style just clicks with you. Nothing can't be learned if you find the right teacher, and that's why too many teachers teaching the same thing is ok! You've taught me so much!

In terms of the colours, think you should lighten the main yellow and deepen/warm up the contrast yellow and maybe even add a white to swirl in the middle. Definitely drizzle some purple throughout the frosting to keep the continuity. For the wallpapers I like 1 and 3 equally! Hope this helps!

The only real thing I want to learn, is a good goat milk soap recipe that I can make the soap frosting with. And I can understand a soap maker not wanting to share their recipes. I mean trade secrets, right? Your soaps are very beautiful, and inspire me to get better with the craft.

On the wallpaper, option 1 is my favorite for sure. On the soap, I actually liked the colors. It reminded me of lemon curd with whipped cream, the more pigmented yellow was reminiscent of undiluted lemon curd, and the purple would still represent lavender of course.

Learning from you is just so personable As for the wall paper, I like the 3rd one with the post card vibe, but the first one could be really nice depending on the color pallette of the other decor/furniture

I was literally thinking yesterday that I wanted more Royal Creative Academy videos, and wondering if I should comment about it on your next video. So, I guess this means I should... I watch all the other soap tutorial channels, too, but just because they're doing a good job doesn't mean that there's no space for you to join in, too. Everyone brings a different perspective on it. I say the more content for beginning soapers, the better. Also, I love what you said about not being able to tell the difference with premium oils/butters. It makes me feel so much better for my shoestring budget soap. :)

With regards to more tutorial videos: Remember that people want to vibe with their teacher. You have such a bright personality and (as in this video) you roll with the mistakes when you are actually making soap. I don't watch soap making tutorials because I'm not learning to make soap. BUT I would watch YOUR soap making tutorials because you are such a lovely person and I like listening to you!
