The fact he had only one daughter but raised three. The other two are actually cousins to his daughter that he took in and adopted to raise. He even found his brother.

This happened in my family. Dad died and mom married drugs. Watched my little sisters amd brother get taken away by the state, right as I was headed out to basic training. Little sisters growed up and become nurses and NP's. Mom got to see them graduate right before she died. Killing me typing this right now tbh. Sister now has 2 kids that mean the world to her and me. Still haven't seen my lil bro yet tho.

I grew up in an abusive household too with parents on hardcore drugs and my womanizing dad beating my mom and sticking shot guns to her head. I ran away from home several times as a teen. But same, everything mended as an adult, but yeah these are the cards we're dealt.

That sucks because it's my favorite Eminem song ever. More than the old stuff or the random other new songs that were pretty good like the one with Rihanna. But it's almost a compliment that you can't hear it because it's too real.

I get you so much. I only listen to it when I feel too much piling up and I need an outlet, cause man I am bawling my eyes out everytime I hear it. My mom also kicked me out in the snow when I was little, on my birthday nonetheless. And so much more…We mended things after. But after my absent father died, she stole what he left me and I don’t know about her since. I lost both parents in the span of a few months. I feel better knowing I am not alone in this

@@DigThugDoug Yea that's the crazy part is that most things are subjective like how relatable an artist is or the emotions they can pull out of you. That stuff is going to be different for everybody. The thing is that Eminem makes people feel like that and then you go to the numbers which are objective. No one in his genre has sold as many albums as him. You can only compare him to other people that dominated their genres for years like elvis, the beatles, micheal jackson, elton jon, garth brooks...etc. People that have multiple diamond selling albums. Also he has the most streamed song that was released prior to streaming services existing (lose yourself), so out of all of those people he has the most played song. To say anyone else is comparable to him in rap is objectively, on paper, just not true.

That's where I'm coming from too. I'm not huge into rap in general but this song made me tear up a little. The delivery was perfect. I'd be much happier with Eminem of he hadn't released the things he did spreading the political hate. But if I overlook that I can't deny the impact he's had on the music industry and the hearts of millions of people with songs like this.

This song is definitely up there next to "Dear Mama" by 2Pac

Please find that strength too. My mom left us(me and 2 sisters) as teens right after my dad died. I stayed close with her and went through many bad things like no lights and food and she ended up having 4 kids with the crackhead she was with. State took them all. One of my sisters from her and my dad, took me forever to get her to forgive mama and come visit her as her health was bad. She finally did 2 months before my mom died in 2021 and she actually came and sat with her everyday til my mom passed. My sister tells me all the time how she was so thankful that I got her to forgive mama and come see her. Life is short AF and you should never put important stuff off when it comes family. I promise you will be glad you did. I'm not that religious but I promise I'll pray for you and her.

Damn. My dad died when I was in 10th and 6 months later me and my sisters lived in a van because mom abandoned us. I never hated her for it and stayed close but it took me forever to get my sister's too. Last sister finally started visiting her here for 2 months til she died in 2021. Im 43 now and was 41 then. Thankfully we got the opportunity you didn't. I'm sorry to hear it ok. God bless you.
