Excellent narration Dark Night Tales! This is one of the scariest stories I've ever written IMO and you definitely did a great job bringing it to life with this reading =)

I'm definitely not gonna wanna go down in my basement again. The story without an ending, that is perfection. You had me glued to my phone, awesome read.

This guy seems awfully sure that no one could possibly be in the basement. Does he not understand that there are ways of getting into a house without a key? Especially an old farmhouse with probably not too sturdy doors.

The dilemma when facing absolute horror is always a really interesting facet of stories when they're so well written 🥰 As always, another fabulous narration ❤️

Sad and creepy! Sounds almost like a Dybbuk Box. If I felt like something was looking at me from a doorway in a new place, and then that door started opening, I sure as heck wouldn't ignore it. When I was about 5, we were all at a family member's house for some reason I've forgotten. One of my cousins, being a jerk, told me there was a monster in the basement, and to watch out. Later, I was playing with one of those Tonka dump trucks (that used to be made of metal) when the door of the basement popped open. I looked at it, and saw big round eyes and teeth a few steps down. I grabbed that Tonka truck with both hands, chucked it straight at the thing down the stairs and ran, ignoring the shriek and frantically trying to find a grownup. I was waiting for the sound of footsteps coming after me, but heard more like sobbing sounds. A couple of the adults ran past me and I turned to see what was going on. Turned out that the basement was part of the lounge where all the guys were watching a game, and it was accessible from the kitchen on the other side of the house. The "monster" was the jerk cousin (obviously) wearing his new glasses, which had looked like menacing white eyes. Amazing how a Tonka truck to the face can make you never try to scare your cousin again.

Only a few minutes in and I was already a fan of the wife, she was making complete sense while the husband....🙄😑😤

Pretty good story, but does anyone else really think the wife is utterly in sufferable like childishly insufferable?
