13:19 Assuming this film industry is starting in the U.S., a ticket to see Spiff's first film costs $359.47 in 2024 dollars, which is directed by and acted in by people labelled as nobodies. A real steal of a deal. Similarly, the hardest difficulty starts you off with a mere $2.25 million and Spiff grew it quickly to almost $80 million. In September of his first year, his movies made him about $25 million in a month (14:49). Imagine if he got his share dividends. By the end of the video (17:47), Scam Studios sits on just short of $200 million 2024 USD thanks to his finance fraud and 3 films. Well done, Spiffing Brit, best director of 1940.
Fincancial fraud matching real world manipulations that was was made legal between 1880, and 1932. and almost identically made legal again in 1982, with the small expception of requiring taking out a bank loan to access said fraudulent funds. Uh. Not for the law, but because theres an extra Tax loophole.
@@SavathunSussyImpostor Are you familiar with the term "Hollywood Accounting?" They kind of do. At least they make things so complicated that almost nobody knows where all the money goes/comes from during the process.
"1. Sell shares at high valuation. 2. Lower our share value. 3. Buy them back at a lower price." - I feel like this is an existing scam; what is it called when this is done in real life?
I'm going to be honest when I saw that title the first thing that came to mind was "did spiff really just find a loophole to somehow buy out all of Hollywood?" 😅
10:15 - "Stop casting Dwayne Rock in everything" (even though, in-game, Dwayne only began existing to make this first film) ...something tells me the game KNOWS, that youre trying to make "The Rock", and they want the real Dwayne Johnson to not be casted in so many real movies...
I think uwe boll, paradoxically created the best video game to film adaptation ever when he created the postal movie. Which is more of a statement about the state of video game adaptations than anything else honestly. That and the fact that postal is a . . . special creature . . . in every sense of the word.
Yeah. This can be barely called in exploit. The programmers didn't bother (or, more likely, weren't given the time) to actually make the game before it was kicked out the door/released.
Honestly if spiff somehow found out a way to exploit hollywood and gained ownership of every company i would welcome him as our new film overlord hopefully he could find an exploit that allows them to start making decent movies again
1 thing they’d need to bring back is chemical dependency based production, the bean counters need to be more worried about making money to maintain their habits than they do pushing a message or not offending anyone. We need to start pumping the creative types full of hunter s Thompson, William s Burroughs and Warhol levels of stuff again.
How to win at business: Acquire wealth in a dubious manner, buy everyone else, exploit everyone. You know, sometimes simulation games compromise on realism to make for more compelling gameplay, but it's nice to see such an in-depth and flawless recreation of reality too.
Now Spiffing Brit can direct the world's most perfectly balanced movies in existence that are, by no means, created with any exploits, loopholes, or unethical practices. Totally... But to be fair, who'd you rather make Star Wars movies? The Spiffing Brit or Disney?
@@hikari1690 So I guessed. But can you actually *explain* it? One does not come naturally from Jolly Todger to Tod Howard (me not being a native speaker)...
I'm in the industry and this isn't even a joke video. Specially the work schedule- it took crew members dying on their drive home for studios to ease up schedule by like an hour.
Glad to see a small, hollywood-owning, superhuman led indie company getting recognized at the awards! Also, I love how the first film had Dwayne and Pedro inside each other, yet they apparently didn't have any chemistry until the second film.
ok, shame on me… for a moment, while reading the title, I was totally convinced that our brit master was the new movie industry kingpin (IRL) thanks to some weird loophole. 😂
@6antonioinoki the worst part is, that's not even an unreasonable thought. After the whole Steam/PayPal thing, I would have no problem believing he did this in real life.
It says a lot about Spiff that I saw the title, and right up until the video actually started, I was not sure if he was talking about IRL or in a game. I mean, I was literally scared myself asking what Spiff's plan for the global film industry could possibly be. Well done Mr. Brit, you have become a force of nature.
Fun fact, the father of the American Navy. John Paul Jones via the English channel conquered and terrorized the British isles on multiple occasions. on one semi-successful raid he was denied the opportunity to tactically acquire a prominent lord as he was not at his residence. Instead, he enjoyed Tea with the would-be prisoners family which he was quite fond of since it was Tax free.
Correction: he raided the town of Whitehaven then left; and fought in the battle of Flamborough Head. Went on to serve in the Imperial Russian navy before being dismissed for abusing a 10yo girl.
And here I thought for a brief moment wed be seeing such hits as "Tea is your friend" and "A 10 hour documentary of the tea industry" on our movie screens. However Spif running a digital movie monopoly is the next best thing!
I like that you highlight this game. I hope they put in some more work because it seems too undercooked but with potential. We just need another "The Movies", such a gem of a game.
Hype is multiplicative and you can buy several hype men and offices. When you start getting into ridiculous hype numbers, the profit goes into numbers mankind doesn't have words for.
Watch the biggest exploit of all was that the shares were never meant to be exploited in such a way, only served as the ultimate bait for exploiters to try and use.
At first I wondered where Reanu Keeves is... but he's probably squirreled away for some secret project, mastering yet another Perfectly Balanced Game. And congratulations to Scam Studios for the perfect clean sweep of the awards... a Perfectly Balanced result with No Exploits!
10:55 That was one of the best films I've ever seen. Definitely worth a like on this video. I loved the part with the two dudes inside each other...I, uh, watch it for the plot.
I remember watching “The Pirates of English Channel” with my father and we both cried at the final scene hit so hard that my father had a heart attack. Thank you “Scam Studios” !
Mildly disappointed that it’s a game exploit, and not Spiff announcing that he’s somehow hacked reality, now owns Disney and has relocated Hollywood to the outskirts of Doncaster.
Hi there! Thank you so much for playing our game, we really appreciate your content and had lots of fun watching it! 🔥 Today we are launching a brand new update with even more cool stuff, so stay tuned! All the best!
With this title, I very much went into the video thinking he actually found a legal loophole to own copyrights to every single movie. I didn't even doubt it either, I was just clicking to see how he did it
I don't understand why everyone says it's a spiritual successor to The Movies when it's just a by the numbers generic resource manager with different mechanics that just happen to be about the same.
Why am I not surprised. With the amount of Yorkshire Tea Gold Spiff owns it's only a matter of time before he own the entire worldwide economy. Spiff truly is unstoppable.
Here is what I was expecting you to do at the start of this video: find a way to pull more money out of the system - check. buy out the competitors - check. torture your employees - you actually were very generous with rest hours and pay for the industry norms. intentionally make low budget box office bombs - nope you chained up blockbusters.
Honestly, it doesn't look like that much of an improvement, other than graphically updated. In fact, The Movies had more choices when setting up scenes by the looks of it.
I wonder how WWII would affect Spiff's film direction. Or would he just summon Reanu Keeves to win the war and win more awards to make more money per film (about Reanu Keeves in the war)?
This video had me rolling! 😂 It's wild to think of Spiff running Hollywood, I mean, can you imagine the red carpet events? Super actors in wacky scenarios! I totally would trust him to make a movie about filing taxes though. 😅🍿
