Hey Jazzy. Love your videos. I'm a trainee dental nurse, so here's some advice about TMJ. With regards to TMJ discuss the pain with your dentist. Bite guards can help with teeth grinding at night time and help reduce wear and tear to the teeth too. Usually TMJ is caused by stress or stressors, your dentist will discuss with you ways to manage it. That being said i dont think you will be out of the crisp eating game forever, so don't panic. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺ TMJ also stands for the joint in your jaw, temporomandibular joint.

Yes! I suffer with tmj as well and daily messaging my jaw muscles and completely relaxing my face, wearing a night guard consistently, and finding new stress releases through my hands instead of clenching my jaw has been a lifesaver! I used to regularly have a locked jaw and now I only get a sore or tight jaw once in a while.

When you said "they look like cheese puffs but are turkey and stuffing", why did I think they were supposed to go in the oven and was immediately shook when you ate them "raw"? 😂😂 Fml how did I forget that crisps was a thing? 😂 Also I think Kinder egg was always called Kinder egg surprise and then they brought out Kinder Joy

TMJ pain, microwave heat pillows are incredibly helpful, also I find when one side flares up then lean your head over to the opposite site as it helps to take the pressure off and let’s it relax. It’s only a short term relief but it does help 😘

German here. Yes, Lebkuchen is a Christmas treat, sometimes they also sell them filled with jam, but I do prefer them without. I live in Dublin now, and honestly, Lidl is amazing for all German Christmas treats if you want any more. Also, Lebkuchen is pretty much like gingerbread cake, I suppose.

I had horrible TMJ for years until I realized I had a tongue tie (still) as an adult. I got revision surgery and no joke my TMJ is completely gone! I would definitely look into tongue ties in adults. It’s more common than you would think and there are tests you can do yourself to see if you have one. Hopefully you can find out what’s causing it and find relief soon 💜

I was just commenting about my tmj and read your comment and it's so strange because my chiro mentioned this to me but I sort of dismissed it. She was looking in my mouth and thought I could possible have that but couldn't say for sure as it's just something she has started to learn about. How did it help you?
@RachaelShelburn
@RachaelShelburn 2 года назад
@@SarahTypes I would definitely look into it! For me it completely took away my TMJ pain that I had constantly. Chewing harder foods don’t bother me anymore and I can talk or read out loud for long periods of time without my tongue hurting or starting to lisp. And after I got the procedure my chiropractor noticed that all my muscles in my neck and shoulders were way looser and more relaxed. It honestly made a huge difference for me!

I was diagnosed with TMJ in my late teens (mid-50's now). You are most likely having a flare-up. Remembering to wear a mouth guard at night and finding a RMT you can trust and relax with who can work the face, jaw, and neck muscles. Be aware of your jaw muscles and don't over work them.

I’m actually surprised to see so many people in the comments section that have TMJ. I also have it and Arthritis as well. My arthritis actually gives me more grief than my TMJ. I had to surgeries for my TMJ but it’s never really hurt before but limited my movement and how wide I could open my mouth. But it’s just really interesting to see that not only Jazzybum has it but so many others in the comments section. I never ever seem to come across anyone else that has it or arthritis. Sometimes I feel like the oddball misfit in my mid twenties that deals with TMJ and arthritis but it’s nice to see that I’m not alone. Hope everyone who has it finds the necessary help and guidance they need. Living with illnesses isn’t fun nor easy. But at least learning how to live with it and manage the pain helps. Love you Jazzybum and hope you get back to enjoying your crisps very soon without so much pain!! Illnesses really do suck! But watching your fun videos always helps make each day a whole lot better!! 😊❤️💚🎄

As a dentist i feel obligated to tell you to take it easy sweetie on your jaw especially since you have a TMJ problem ( thats Tempro-Mandibular Joint btw which is just the name of this joint) you should eat softer foods and nothing too hard or chop it into small bits so it wont pressure your jaw more and take smaller than usual bites, if the pain is too much your doctor should describe you a pain killer thats suitable for you and maybe a muscle relaxant too as it would also help reduce the pain. If whatever problem you have is caused by clenching your teeth together when youre in stressful situations for example try to be more aware of that and relax your jaw or if its when youre asleep the doctor should make u a night guard to wear its like the ones they put for people in boxing. But still consult your doctor so you would know whats best for your condition. Hope you feel well soon ❤

I have TMJ and have had symptoms of aching jaw and cracking and locking joint on the right side of my jaw for 15 years. The longer it goes the more consistant the ache and pain. Anything chewy or crunchy is going to irritate it. If you can find a chiropractor that focuses on releasing tension from the spine it might help (it helps me). It won't fix it but it'll ease it quite a bit.

Hey Jazzy!❤️ I have TMD as well, I was diagnosed 8 years ago. My joint discs are completely worn out so it’s straight bone on bone 😫 I would survive basically with ibuprofen / painkillers / naproxen and then last year I got an Invisalign treatment. I wore trays 22h/24h and it helped A LOT since I couldn’t clench or snack as much! Now I have a tray that I’m wearing at night only and it helps also to reduce the pain. I am not waking up with jaw pain as much as I did because since I was in pain at night I clenched a lot during my sleep so the pain was unbearable when I got up. I am still having pain when I stress a lot. I cannot eat hard candies or even soft candies (gummy) and I can’t chew gum anymore, but I can eat hard food during meals! I can’t tell you that your pain will go away, but before I am having hard meals or if I feel like snacking candies I pop 3 ibuprofen to prevent the sharp pain… I also did chiropractic/physio and saw a TMJ surgeon but none of it helped and the surgeon said the chances of not having pain anymore are slim. I hope you’ll find tips and tricks on how to manage your pain like I did 🥰

For your TMJ, try to pay attention on your eating. Smaller bites, choose the side that makes it feel most comfortable. I have jaw pain from migraines and sensitive teeth. Sometimes soup is just the best option. Or something like dumpling in bouillon with vermicelli, nice and soft does not even require chewing much. Do not eat hard of chewy food/candy. Like in this video that might have been to much for your jaw. And make sure if your jaw is acting up to have 2 - 4 days of easy food so it can recover.

I wish America would adapt the whole pricing system from the UK. The fact that there’s no 5.99 or 3.49 nonsense is incredible. It would make everything so easy to add up in your head when budgeting as you shop. I’m not sure what the tax situation is like but overall it looks nicer than the US

We do have like, 5.99 or whatever, but the biggest difference between America and the uk in shopping, is that our tax is already included, so the price on the item or the shelf is the amount you pay. When we visit America, it takes me forever to math and hurts my brain 🤣🤣🤣

Jazzy I've had TMJ disorder for about 30 years. I was told to avoid chewy/hard foods (think bagels, raw hard veg like carrots, no gum, etc) and get a bite guard made at the dentist (it did help) Also was told to wait as scar tissue will build up and cushion the joint more.(that took a few years) I am sure there are more treatments available today. I can eat crunchy things now, but it took a long time and there are still foods I avoid. Yes the pain in my jaw/neck is constant but much less than it was. Hope that helps!

Hi Jazz, I had TMJ for more than 10 years. It comes and goes. It's important to remember when you just rekax, to relax your jaw muscles as well. I had it so bad that for 10 whoke years I could only open my mouth and out 1 finger in my mouth, nothing bigger than that. But I got better with meds that relaxes me. Goid kucj shame I know, constant headaches! Jaw pain and tired feeling jaw all the time. Give yourself a break, and just do you, we love you so much! Thinking about you! 😘 😘 😘

Hi I have TMJ, and it's just a flare up! Sometimes it just happens and it just happened to occur when you ate those crisps! Normally if that food has irritated, I leave that food a couple of days and then go back to it ☺☺

Hey Jaz! I have my TMJ. Some days jaw hurts more than others. I wear a guard at night (sometimes the day if it really hurts) it stopped me biting down to hard. Facial massage is really good too! Lots of spas do them. You do get used it to be honest, just be mindful of your bite when you're concentrating such as editing or working! Xxx

I was diagnosed with TMJ 2 years ago. At the time my jaw was always painful, it would lock if I tried to open it far. However with some exercises and sleeping with a mouth guard I don’t really have painful jaw anymore. I was told it might pass. It comes back now and then mostly if I eat something too hard but I don’t notice the TMJ much anymore. X

I also have TMJ and I have been to the dentist for it they recommended mouth guard for at night to hold you jaw in place. I know my jaw used to hurt super bad as you were describing I think it gets better. You may be having just a flair up or overtime you will get used to it. Wishing you well

Lebkuchen is a Christmas treat and it's my favorite Christmas treat. We are so lucky to get them in Namibia and they are so freaking yummy. If I eat them I can only think of Christmas.
