Theres just something awesome about Snorlax, honestly cant decide if i love that one more than Charizard. Super cool to see you opening base booster packs, man i miss those days being in Toys'R'us with my mom and buying those.

I still remember those packs like it was yesterday. I regret not keeping one sealed back then. But as a kid, there was no way I was not gonna rip them. But Squirtle has to be my all time favorite starter. He was an icon the show and a great water type for the game!

I still remember pulling my first and only Charizard. I was in a car park outside Asda with my late mum. I was having a rough time after moving to a new high school abroad and i think she was more happy for me than I was. Even though she didn't understand Pokémon really. Core memory.

For me, it's Piplup. I have been a huge fan of penguins ever since I was a kid. And so when they finally made a starter based on a penguin, I didn't care at all about the other options. And then how cute it was in the anime, and how much personality they gave it. It become a permanent member of my top favorite Pokémon of all time!

My favorite starter was charmander. The first time i opened a charizard pack, i pulled one as a kid. Now mind you it took months of waiting to even get there early enough to get a charizard pack because people always grabbed them first. I remember being incredible envious when a friend was given a entire booster box for his bday of jungle set.

For me it’s Mudkip, the amount of hours I put into emerald when I was younger was mental. Just lots of nostalgia with it tbh!

I’d love to go back and find all my old cards that I had when I was younger. I had absolutely loads. Charizard, Bulbasaur et etc (all obviously in terrible condition). But to think 30 years later we would be seeing them at £10k each!! Crazy

This hits home very hard ,I used to open loads of the dauntless and heartgold soulsilver back in the 2010s i got the kyogre and groudon cards but didnt know about collecting value or sleves and eventually got rid of them, now that im in my 20s I got a big nostalgia trip and started from scratch recollecting again but the proper way. Still is one of the biggest mistakes iv'e made, i hope i can add theses cards back into my collection one day thanks for all thoses great memories man !

I love watching these videos because it's extremely rare to see a Base set opening, especially 1st edition. My dad bought a Base set charizard pack (unfortunately not 1st edition like these, but the reprints or whatever theyre called) a year or two before I was born when they were still being sold in stores. Despite me being the biggest pokemon nerd he has ever seen (he grew up during peak america release, he saw some shit lmao) he kept it a secret until almost 3 years ago on my 18th bday. He woke me up at 1:51am, the time i was born (crazy cool coincidence ik, it used to be my personality 😂) and shoved it in my face. I instantly started freaking out and asking him where he got it. Hearing he'd kept it in a safe for longer than i've been alive was the most surreal moment of my life 🤣 I weighed it and its heavy, I'm still on the fence on whether or not i'm going to keep it and give it to my kid on his 18th (or a different) bday, or if I'm going to wait as long as I can and have my dad open it. ik this was off topic and a lot, but i genuinely tear up every time I see a base set opening, regardless of 1st edition, simply because I got one of the greatest gifts a pokemon fan could ever ask for

My favorite starter is Cyndaquil! I love the flames on the back and then teaching Typhlosion thunderpunch to best any water pokemon.

I still constantly play the original games on my original green gameboy color. I will never get tired of Pokemon. I have to say my favorite starter of all time is Squirtle. He could carry you so far in the original games.

I think my favorite was Sprigatito from Violet. I've never gone with a Grass type before but it was so much fun.
