I work for a university and I see kids driving the latest cars that are brand new. These are the same who does not have a clue as to what is happening with their loans and accounts. I can tell you one thing that they will be in financial trouble in the future and then blame others for their misfortunes.

@@AsadoMao Exactly, you should see these students who cry that they do not have money have the latest of everything. Spend $100 on salons and eat at expensive restaurants. I cannot afford the things they use. And will never buy them because I do not want to owe anyone any money.

Yeah they're not much of a car... Any of them. I'm a big toyota honda fan they've treated me much better and saved me money over the other piles of junk I've had... Took me too long to find toyota...

@@666dynomax Late 90s and Early 2000s VW cars with the diesel engines are fantastic. Excellent on fuel, and they just keep on going! They don't rust underneath either, which is great for where I live (Ontario; we love to put salt on the roads).

@@666dynomax It's pretty funny how that all worked out. In Ontario, our newest Premier took away the emissions testing. The diesel "cheaterwagens" became completely legal and sought-after. Edit: I'd still buy a Toyota or Honda. Can't go wrong.

Hey Mr. Ramsey! i just wanted to share with you that as of Tuesday Jan 12th i am debt free! I dont think you would be happy over how I did it though. it took me a while because i was saving up as i was paying off my debt as well! it wasnt much, only a few thousand. But now I am debt free with $22,275 (cad) in investments and I have $1100 cash money! Watching your shows from the lens of being debt free is one my ny new found favourite things to do

I drive a 2011 honda accord, bought new for cash for $17k back in 2011, has 57,000 miles on it, keeping it until the wheels fall off.

He just needs to keep making his payments on the car and keep it running well. I'd personally focus on the smaller debt amounts and change spending habits. Once that is accomplished, then it will start to work.

You can always be truck driver . 55k a year starting , give up the rent ( that frees up 9k a year) live in the rig for free, park your VW at the terminal for free. You not paying gas no more because u over the road. That free up $100 worth of gas a week. Free up 15k by driving a rig. And you building up experience to get a local driving job that can pay you 70k a year to be home everyday or do something else 2 years of driving plus stacking up that cash. You be back home with at least 30k in your pocket if you live like no one else. Plus u get to see the country for free Note: rough estimate of after taxes to keep Free CDL thu swift or TMC transport . 1 year requires to work for company to earn CDL free

Why snowball? Makes more sense to pay off the higher loan amounts first to reduce the interest . We have a student loan 7k at 3.5% and a Tacoma, owe 17k on at 5.2% and Chevy Malibu owe 12k on at 5.2% so we're paying extra 25 to 50 a payment and each making an extra payment every month. Once those are paid off then we're debt free besides house. S

I’ll second the Gap Insurance advice. A 22 year old kid I used to work with had a big fancy truck until he wrapped it around a telephone pole, then he found out the hard way what Gap Insurance was. It cost him over $10,000 if I remember correctly

You lose $2k. It is like investing in a bad stock. You are still going to need to sell it at some point, but if it keeps going down, you are going to take more of a loss. You are selling into a loss.

50k won't happen. 10k is a real possibility, provided you have a relatively low income. Wouldn't surprise me if you end up paying income tax in the future on any money you get.
