Hi guys! I did something silly again! I bought the infamous $140 Last Crumb cookies to see if they are worth the price! So lets hangout and eat some cookies and see if they are worth the crazy price tag?! Let me know which cookie you would like to try! Love ya💖
Loving all of the new content. Love chewy gooey over crisp any day. Have to admit banana cream pie in a cookie did not sound appealing. I love it as pie, but cookie? You've convinced me. Drink some hot tea to cleanse your palate.
There's a new cookie place by me, crumbl cookies, has 6 different flavors each week and they're just as big as those $12, but only $4, be great if there was one near you so you could test to see if the cheaper fancy cookies are just as good.
I have NEVER seen her describe ANY makeup or skincare or any other things she's unboxed on this channel with the same amount of passion and description and almost poetic fashion of speech, as she has described these cookies.! It's been a ride this video 😋
“ guess who’s having salad tonight, not me because I don’t know balance” Totally snorted into my coffee and it went everywhere. Comment of the day for me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My personal choice for fancy cookies you can get through the mail is Levain, which aren’t nearly this expensive. Plus they ship all of the time AND the customer service is so nice. The first time I ordered them, they actually reached out to make sure that they had the right address for me because their system said it was giving them warning signs.
I have ALWAYS wanted to try a Levain cookie and I didn't even think about trying to order them! Im so glad you mentioned them and the customer service is so great!
@@Alexandria-Ryan I was feeling blue because of the pandemic and randomly googled them, thinking I could do a dupe recipe and found out that they ship across the US. The peanut butter and chocolate cookies were my favorite.
If your cookies are AMAZING! Don’t feel bad about charging more! You put your time, dedication and love! I would pay $15 to $20 for excellence dozen of cookies BUT NOT $140
Make sure that you are charging appropriately: cost+labor, THEN you add on a profit margin. Your own wage doesn't count as profit! (This was shocking to me when I learned this) ❤️
Red velvet cake originally was made with a specific kind of cocoa powder that would turn red after the addition of vinegar was added to the batter…the chemical reaction of the two would turn it red. Now it’s usually just food colouring.
It's really hard to get that original cocoa powder now too, I remember trying when I first heard about Red Velvet Cake. It just wasn't available anywhere in the UK or Europe! 🤓
I used a recipe with beets to give it that red color, to not use any food colouring, you can't taste the beets and makes the cake very moist ☺️ is a good vegan alternative too.
I don’t mind splurging occasionally, $140 for 12 cookies makes me very happy you tried them and I’m not tempted. Got to give them an A+ on Presentation.
Agree. That is a very nice box and the individual envelopes? Chef's kiss 😙 muah! (have to admit that my keyboard prediction gave my embryo for envelopes⁉️)
Ya know for 12$ a cookie you'd expect them to be more intricate looking. I once got a pumpkin pie cookie that looked like a pumpkin pie. Just saying the bar for aesthetic should be higher.
There's a store called "The Cookie Bar" in my town. The cookies are similar in size to the Last Crumb cookies, but they cost $5. They also make extremely similar flavours of cookie
I feel like a fancy coffee shop here in Vancouver might charge $12 for one of those. Additionally, those cookies come with: Deadlines for the business (weekly shipments) An alert system and controlled e-commerce store Individual packaging Quirky copy on the packaging Branded display box Branded shipping box Fancy brochure So I'd say a ton of the $140 was not for cookies 😂
I think you're spot on about getting a group of friends together for these cookies. The cookies are so massive and so sweet that it makes sense to cut them into pieces anyway, and it would be a fun thing to try with a few different friends (and cheaper). For that much money, though, I could probably trial-and-error my way into similar recipes for a fraction of the cost.
Being from a country where you couldn't get a $12 cookie if you tried, this is fascinating to me. These would be great for impressing friends at a birthday party. You bring some really unexpected content sometimes and it helps paint a picture of the corners of the internet that you wouldn't normally get. Keep it up!
Gideon's cookies look so good though at Disney World. They are $6 but are almost 1/2 a pound. I'm tentatively planning my first ever Disney trip and they are definitely on my foods to try list.
Ok idk if it’s because I’m exhausted but “the price is justified by the scarcity” is SUCH an amazing sentence?? Like that sounds like it came right out of a dystopian novel 😂
Those look yummy, but I can make a whole batch of white chocolate macadamia cookies for less than twelve dollars! After watching you try all these, I think I need to go bake some for my family. 😊
Here’s my question: why all the flippin white chocolate? Like every single cookie has white chocolate? I personally despise, loathe, ABHOR white chocolate so I can’t imagine paying $1.40 for these let alone 10x that. Also what if you’re allergic to peanuts/tree nuts and just wanted like the lemon or red velvet ones? This business model seems so bizarre and anti-consumer.
If you don't like that then go to a bakery that specifically caters to anti gluten, nut free, vegan and or kosher ya know my point is their is a bakery for everyone. So personally it's not anti consumer it's smart because it caters to a certain clientele because me you would never find me buying smart chewy cookies because it's disgusting taste like eating a unfinshed cookie that didn't finish cooking all the way. You wouldn't catch me eating nut free, gluten free and or vegan because it's all gross🌜🤷🌛 I best prefer going to normal bakeries that cater to the average consumer who don't have any issues and or are vegan.. -Mercy(sorry for the name confusion i am on my dad's phone at the moment)
@@richiethev4623 Sounds like you have some personal issues that you just aired out for all to see. Take a breath, calm down. Life will be okay even though vegan foods exist.
"Going with them through you guys" LOL! I do that kind of thing ALL the time. In fact, I once sang "time like a free wind so slipply quicks away" during a church solo and my friends were in the audience trying so hard not to laugh at me while I had to keep going. 😀 I think included in the price tag of this box is the removal of FOMO. So you get 12 cookies and the knowledge that you got something other people couldn't get. Quite a marketing ploy! Also, can't wait for the Super Scary Subscription Closet!!
That’s insanely pricey for cookies, even good ones! I admit to ordering amazingly good hand-churned ice cream directly from Graeter’s, since I’m an ice cream addict, but even that was only $80 for 6 pints, your choice of flavors, last time I ordered. And they ship in dry ice!
Grater’s Ice Cream it the best ever! I used to live in Florida (born in ky) so I on occasion would have it shipped as well. The creaminess left on your palette confirms it’s richness lol. 💗 🍨
I made the mistake of looking up Levain...now I want cookies. So....one half of me is jealous of this video. The other half of me feels like I'd throw up, lol! But just fyi, Red Velvet isn't supposed to be that chocolatey...it's supposed to be a hint of chocolate and vanilla. Over time, that has changed of course...but I actually love the subtle version more.
I think for an artisan individual cookie my hard limit would probably be $6, and it would have to be hefty. But I cant see myself splurging $140 for 12 cookies. Including nuts is really rubbing me the wrong way, because it’s literally excluding folks with the most common food allergies. Also this box seems more aimed to be gifted , like other gift basket companies.
People with nut allergies can freaking buy other cookies, you virtue signaling nutcase. The 99.9 percent of humans that DON'T have nut allergies might actually want to enjoy a cookie with nuts in it.
@@thamieklybodonmi I think what the OP is meaning is that since there's no option to choose, you're eliminating anyone who has any sort of allergy from buying your product. If they allowed you to pick a box of a dozen from a menu, that would be ideal for people with allergies, You don't have to be so fucking aggressive over $140 cookies, man, relax. Do you work for this company or something?
@@Amsayy no, she clearly stated that she's rubbed wrongly because people are excluded. not because the extremely rare people with true nut allergies can't choose. people can always choose not to buy or talk with customer service before. and if both you and the op are so entitled that this option doesn't even crosses your minds I have every right to be irritated. can't eat a Waldorf salad in a restaurant without some busy body whining about the nut allergies they never encounter. and God forbid you want some peanuts with your beer in a bar... can't have living, blooming flowers in an office space since some Karen saw people sneezing on FB because pollen and shit. can't use perfume in shower rooms because some idiot doesn't stand perfumes and pretended to choke just thinking about it. and the list of needless restriction will just increase if nobody tells these manipulative weaklings to get a life. mind your own damn businesses and let people that never asked your help to sort things out for themselves.
@@thamieklybodonmi the fact you say mind your on business while spewing your opinion on the internet unprompted is peak irony. Also. Nut allergies are much more common than .1%, and it’s totally fair to say “hey, it kinda sucks that I’d love to try your cookies but there’s no nut free option” since their whole business is people buying their food. The original comment never said to shut the place down, just that it bothers them that people with food allergies weren’t considered by this company selling food. Which is totally valid. Get over yourself, why do people having serious reactions bother you so much? Bring your own peanuts to the bar. Buy whatever you want. But stop shitting on people for the choices their immune systems make (because allergies are involuntary reactions of the immune system overreacting to non threatening substances, like nuts or pollen)
For $12, that cookie needs to fill my belly with yummy yummy goodness, cure my insomnia, and do my taxes. Having said that, the lemon bar could have a free ride because I love lemon everything. I have to admit that in the back of my mind, I kept thinking, but what about what's left?
@@CM1984 Of course! Everyone knows that all of the best tax people are made up of lots of delicious ingredients 🍪. Otherwise, how would they survive more than one tax season⁉️😁😜
@@Christina-jj6lc I've begun to recognize way too many user names of other people who watch videos in the middle of the night. Joking aside, it's made me feel better to see that I'm not some kind of aberration when I see just how many people suffer from insomnia 🙄. I had no idea. My people 🧟♀️🧟♂️! At last I've found them 😜 I guess it's that weird phenomenon in which people find solace in shared misery, can't recall the name of it, though 🤔😏
Red velvet is just a mild cocoa sponge cake with buttermilk, vinegar and red coloring so that's why it tastes different than chocolate cake for that is thicker and heavier in cocoa. Plus the red velvet has it's cream cheese icing that really helps change the flavor, that's why I don't really agree with people who say it's just chocolate cake dyed red.
Hmmm.... I've never used a red velvet recipe that included vinegar 🤷♀️ Red velvet does have a different consistency/texture, I always attributed it to the buttermilk. For me it's all about the cream cheese frosting, a must...if it doesnt have cream cheese frosting, it's not red velvet 🤣
One of your most interesting Unboxing. You should have had Milk with the cookies. 💖 But I have to say Cheryls cookies is my fave when I want to splurge on buying cookies. 🍪🥛
@@poietes7337 it's a store (restaurant?) That sells and delivery cookies pretty much anytime of night. It was a popular thing back in the days before Doordash! You go out to the clubs then order pizza & cookies at 3am, lol. I don't know if they are still around tbh! I graduated college in 2008
An’t believe she didn’t microwave each cookie for 15 seconds (or warm in the oven) as the directions suggest. It makes a HUGE difference when you warm them up. The inside of each cookie gets so soft & creamy and so luxurious when you warm them up first!! Just received a box and they are AMAZING!!!
There's a place here in Southern California called The Cookie Plug. I like them, I believe they're $5 for a cookie. The Cookies are very doughy in the middle and has a crunchy edge. They're 12 different flavor and 3 keto flavor. If you're interest they do ship nationwide and are $50 for 12 cookies
I could see 8 to 9 dollars a cookie. I also don't understand or like the sea salt on baked good trend. I think part of the price is the packaging and funny quotes.
It's really not a trend. It's a classic french pastry chef trick to balance richness--usually utilized for rich chocolate or caramel desserts. I wouldn't do it on a chocolate chip cookie, but it is essential on my caramel chocolate tart & flourless chocolate cake to keep them from being too sickeningly sweet.
I have been baking for many years and the key to an awesome peanut butter cookie is using real peanut butter, not that just plain Skippy or Jiffy but the stuff that you buy that is real but you have to stir. You will be amazed I promise.
Never thought I'd watch a video about bespoke cookies. Honestly this was a genius idea - the scarcity being the driver for the price. Seems to me they've dumped too much $ into packaging. For $12 each I'd expect some exotic flavors. 🤷♀️
Thank you for showing us these decadent cookies. You just saved me 2 million calories , 5 K points, and $140 . I heard there is a waiting list to even purchase these cookies. I wanted to ask which one was your “ favorite “ cookie?
I saw the "Sugerfina" caramel birthday bites in one of your last advent things and had to go try them...I spent $82.80 (mainly to get 2 free boxes) when I got them a few days ago I 100% completely regretted it the boxes were SO TINY, in fact, one of the things I got the label said there were 2 servings and that 5 pieces were 1 serving...there were 7 in it...)
I don't understand why these companies don't want to give consumers good value. Like how do they expect to grow if people feel like they've been ripped off. Especially for like gourmet sweets the space is packed already.
@@StephanieSmith-rh9yg greed! They try to charge as much as they think they can possibly get with hopes word gets out and people are making videos etc, about them, like this. Hate greed. Especially now when a lot of people are struggling. Why the rich get richer and the poor… well you know the saying.
I think the idea is that they are supposed to be a gift for someone you can't see in person. The purchaser is not supposed to see how small they are, and the receiver never knows how much they are...
Girl. That 50 cent moment just gave me life for at least a week. Which is impressive in this age of plague! 😄 Eta: "back before they made cookie dough safe, and we were all living on the edge" was a solid laugh-snort for me 😆
So I actually own and run a cookie small business. But they’re all 100% custom decorated. $140 would be 4 dozen cookies 😅 That’s about 14 hours of work for me. This is insane…
I thought Crumbl cookies were expensive, and I occasionally splurge on a few of them. But that’s crazy! It was fun watching you taste test them though!
This was fun! I like watching your videos for your personality, so if you enjoyed this type of thing and wanted to do more, I would watch! The downside is that now I really want cookies lol.
Crumbl cookies is a brand of cookies we were sent as a get well present post surgery! They were incredible! Thick and soft, yet not too chewy and the flavor options were BOMB!
I know you aren’t a cooking channel BUT I’d absolutely love to see you pick a couple of these cookies and try to make them yourself? That would be so so fun to watch!
The lipstick jump cut around 25:42-ish made me do a double take! 🕵️♀️ I loved this video! The lemon and cinnamon cookies looked the most intriguing to me! 😋
They look great but v.expensive. I wonder if they may have been even better if you had warmed them a little - I think warm cookies taste so much better.
If anyone in the UK is tempted, Ben's Cookies are probably a decent comparison - huge chunks of chocolate and mix-ins plus I think like £21 box for 15 cookies (or 10 plus 5 free 🤣 ). Also they do vegan options and nationwide delivery which seems pretty ok!
Alexandria- “ope, that was a lot of crumbs… ope, s’more” Me- “she made two puns and didn’t even realize probably. Cuz of her southern accent coming out, it sounded like s’more, and the box is Last Crumb. Very clever unintentionally, and I love it”
Well now I love me some good cookies but I've never seen any cookies I'd even think about paying that much for. And for that price the fact that you have no customization at all is insane to me 😳
I'm half convinced that the only reason these exist is for like rich people/companies to gift out. So adding customization would make the gift more work to the buyer.
The ones from NY are better and cheaper!! They are called cookie dealer. You also get to choose the flavors! Put them in the oven and have them warm. Yum! Some are stuffed!
Watching you eat sweets make me laugh, the sugar rush is hilarious! 😂😂 I have had cookies and candy taken away with from me at work before ~~ apparently IT and Customer Support are not helpful speaking southern a mile a minute! Thanks for the laugh and information! 😂💕
Red velvet cake is meant to be a mix between a buttermilk cake and a chocolate cake, with a ton of red food dye in the batter, and cream cheese frosting. It has never been my favorite, but it isn't just the food dye that defines it.
Definitely rich people cookies🤣I'm more excited to the new Pillsbury cookie dough that's safe to eat 😳I guess it's not that new but my grocery store finally has it
SaWeeeet!! Thank you for bringing some much needed JOY to my day! I truly lived vicariously through you as you experienced Each & Every Bite! It was such Fun & Wow, All without Any Calories! you are truly the funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life if you ever leave RU-vid don’t know what I’m gonna do. Never leave RU-vid. please! I can picture you being 80 years old and doing these. And you would be just as funny.
Me, pregnant and craving nothing but my mom’s top secret chocolate chip cookies: Ah yes. Let me watch 26 minutes of Alexandria eating giant delicious cookies 💀😂
@@sarahanne4772 she had a cookie business for a little while and spent a very long time tweaking her recipes to be EXACTLY how she wanted them. She is the ONLY person with the recipes, she’s never shared it with any of her friends or family or anyone 🥲
Thanks so much for this review! I nearly ordered these one day, but couldn't pull the trigger. Especially since I'm a home baker, and picky about my cookies. 😆
Wow! Those are pricey cookies! Have you heard of Crumbl? They just opened a store near me, and I'm tempted to try some. They're about $40 for a dozen. I think they're about the same size as the ones you got. Might be worth a try. They only have about 4 flavors at a time; the menu changes every week.
Crumbl is to diiie for. Highly recommend. They’re very, very rich and BIG. My husband and I split them. Well, except the lemon ones. He knows not to touch my lemon cookies.
Everyone should try the cookies from the Maui Cookie Lady at least once in their lives! They're around $7 each +shipping, and they're about the same shape and texture as these. They're made with local ingredients found around Maui and delicious is not an adequate enough adjective to describe them! The Butter Rum Triple Chunker is my personal favorite.
The s’mores cookie is the one that I’d like to try! That, & the birthday cake one. But honestly, they all looked amazing & I’d love to try them. I definitely wouldn’t pay that much for them, but they really did look amazing 😃
Please try their Platinum Collection. As someone who loves soft / doughy cookies. As a foodie, I do think they have the best cookies that one can buy. I have bought their core collection, valentines collection, and their platinum collection. I will continue to buy each new collection that they drop. I say if you can afford it, do buy it. They’re the best.
