I remember sitting in titans office back in Rocklin,CA and he was telling me and my daughter about his education plans. He let me and my daughter tour his shop and we were there for like 2-3hrs. Amazing to see everything grow. Praise the Lord! Awesome job titan. Lord willing I’ll tour your shop in Texas someday. 👍
IMTS is when I finally met ya'll in person! I still remember seeing Dave Cox sneak thru the crowds, I called out to Dave, we were in the Mitutoyo area, and chatted a bit he just whispers to me, hey Jon I gotta go, Shhhhh... winked at me and headed up to go talk with Mitutoyo. It wasn't long before they became a partner...
@Barry. You hit the nail on the head when you mention HR not knowing what a machinist actually does. They, as you know, have zero clue! All they see is guys “standing at their machines” doing what they think is nothing but waiting for the vending machine to spit out a bag of parts, washed deburred and ready to go. Funny thing is when guys look like there not busy and green lights are on things are running smooth. Seriously. This would be a good topic to address further.
Being a "machiner" isn't glorified in schools anymore. I've told my people for years. You can't just go to harbor freight and become a machinist like you can a welder. I have nothing against the other trades. But there's no real space for a young person to walk into and be turned onto the interest of machining and that's a bummer.
we dont list machinist cuase your in an intellectually more challenging so a smarter trade your above other trades when you guys make ********************all our tools . name one your not involved in really machists are the next tier and architects are a step uo from that. they reponsible for life in huge way
