I have a Trailmaster 4 in lift and it's smooth as butter. Offroading feels like I'm just going over some potholes.

I'm just glad all of you jeepers lift and aftermarket the hell out of them. I'll keep my 5.9 stock. Wheels and tires only on mine.

I just bought one identical to yours, with a lift and lots of extras, for 1200$ with 179K miles on it. It is white, fully loaded, including the sound bar, lift, front bumper cow catcher sunroof, and more. Like yours, mine is missing the correct 5.9 Limited grille, but the rest of it, the interior, seats door panels are all near mint. Mine is White, just like yours. My 24 y/o daughter wants it badly. She owns a 1997 ZJ Laredo 4.0 4X4 Selec-trac HD Xfer case, with 3:73's pretty well loaded. I told her no, this one is mine! I looked far and wide, waiting many years to find a DECENT example at a good price. Mostly they seem to sell anywhere from 5K$ up for a decent straight never wrecked non-rusty example. As they are a 1 year model, people know what they have, and won't part with them for cheap unless they are trashed out. I got lucky and found mine by accident. It was from an estate sale, on the way to the salvage yard, when I found it. It was going to be either stripped for parts, or crushed. The yard owner had just towed in in on his rollback less than and hour before I walked in. He didn't know what he had or what it was, and sold it to me based on average value for a clean example of a 5.2 Limited. I never told him what it was, how rare is is until after all the paperwork and title work was done at the tag and title place, after I put the tag on it to drive it away. Needless to say, he didn't know there was ever a 5.9 limited or that they are valuable being a one year only run. He was shocked when he learned what it was really worth, had he done his homework. My wife owns a '99 Laredo WJ, 4.0 4X4 WJ with 3:73's, Sure Grip and a locker in front I installed. I own a '03 Limited, 4.7 HO Vin J, 545 RFE, 3:91's and every conceivable option available. I paid 400$ for it a year ago this week, needing fenders, hood, bumper cover and header panel.. My daughter paid 700$ for her 89K mile '97 ZJ,.. we paid 2400$ for the wife's '99 WJ, with 84K miles on it in June 2016. It has 206K miles on it as of today, looks and runs like new inside and out. We're a Mopar/Jeep only family,. I worked for Mopar dealers as a Tech for 35+ years,.. My daughter decided to follow in my foot steps, just graduating tech school last week of March this year with an AA degree. She's now working at our local Jeep dealer and loves it. hey, just started watching your channel! you should consider leaving the front diff pushed forward and correcting the caster, camber, etc. Ive helped build one of these ZJs and if i remember right there's not much room to cut out behind the tire! With my personal build (2002 TJ) i stepped up from a 36 to a 37 and ended up having clearance issues behind the tire too, i extended my front out about 1" and that made all the difference. one thing to watch is your track bar mount coming into contact with your pumpkin! just my two cents!

What I did when I first got my 5.9 ZJ I did all the maintenance items first. Flushed all the fluids, did a tune up, etc. One thing to check is the intake Plenum Gasket. You can remove the intake and open the throttle body and leak inside with a flash light to see if it’s leaking oil. Lots of Magnum motors like the 5.2 and 5.9’s tend to leak. Hughes makes a kit to fix the issue or you can upgrade the intake manifold. If you do either be careful removing the intake bolts as they tend to weaken and snap. Also look into changing out the waterpump, timing chain and timing chain gasket. Good luck!

A little over 14k ZJ 5.9 built. I bought a deep slate pearl one this weekend over in south GA for $1000 with a bad transmission. I drove over 6 hours to haul it home … you paid a fair price no doubt.

I fawks with it. Im also finishing my wj right now. Similar set up 6.5 lift on 35’s and all that and debating whether I go check or zj for the next one because I want another jeep that my friends or relatives can use when we go wheeling plus I want my gf to be able to use something when the snow gets rough since she only has her mustang.

A 5.9 engine is 2k to 3.5k . If your pan is solid ( looks like it to me) it doesn't matter what horse shoes they got welded underneath. 2k and you have the basic body and drivetrain in good shape it was a good decision. Take that plastic trim off your rockers and see if you have rust also front corner of both wheel arches collects crap . Mine looked like it had no rust , now I have to welled in rockers . I don't mind good chance for new skills.

Hey I got a steal. I got a 98 zj with the 5.9 everything stock. Interior good shape just need front seat done. No rust or dents. I paid 1350.

Ya use the iro 4link and 3link .it will be killer .and I hop you no the bolt pattern on the zj is defront then the wj .zj is 5x4.5 and wj is 5x5 bolt pattern.

There were 13000 5.9 made between USA and Europe. They were only available in 3 colors in the USA stone white, is the rarest. Platinum silver is next, slate Grey is the most popular.

I’m not sure if you guys have a Mr Tire anywhere near there, but find one if you can and ask them about the promo or deal they have on Mickey Thompson MTZ’s. I’ve got a buddy who runs our Mr Tire right in town and he was able to get me a set of four 35” Mickeys for my ZJ for a measly $700. If you have any issues, lmk and I’ll swing by ours here and see what my guy Eric can do. Can’t beat 35’s for 780 or whatever I paid out the door. I was set on KM3’s until he threw the Mickeys at me. They put my Firestone MT2’s on my Trailhawk to shame

I paid $6k for mine a few months ago. But it's built Maki g around 400hp. Almost $90k wrapped up into this thing since it's first oil change in 1999. Paperwork to prove it 😁

For 2K was is clean? I'm lining up to buy one here in Canada...seller wants $6500 US, it has 155k miles. No rust, everything works except the rear door latch. You say you overpaid at 2k....

Trust me... the ZJ is way better than that Commander. Commander's are stretched WK's... not a great vehicle. Bad Site-lines and all...Gun Slot windows... poor seating locations inside... it's a mess of a vehicle.
