I Picked Up A TON of Trash, Literally! Over a week and a half, I removed 1000kg of litter from local woodlands, parks, beaches and rivers, and recycled / properly disposed of the trash I found. One person can make a huge difference!
This man warms my heart. He’s helping the environment, making his cats happy, literally spending thousands of money for videos, making everyone happy, etc. it’s incredible to see how dedicated he is to this. If half the population was like this, the world would probably be much greater than it is right now.
If half the population was like him, half population would be a quite popular youtubers, so youtube is gonna get bankrupt. Then when it goes bankrupt it shuts down. Destroying 1 giant chain of this guy's determination, sure he probably would do some cool things every now and then. But he wouldn't get rewarded for that!
If everyone was like this we would have: 1. no trash anywhere 2. technology that surpasses what we will have in three decades 3. almost no problems in simpler terms, it'd be pretty dang awesome.
Chris this is amazing, as someone who wants to do more for nature, this is such an inspiration! I hope to do the same as you did soon, thank you for helping the earth, even a little bit!
Chris is such a great person, He is helping out with a global crisis, and makes his furry friends castles, mountains of food, the Golden Gate Bridge, cattios, and anything you can think of, it’s just incredible how determined and dedicated a person can be.
great effort. i do a day of this every year and try to help by generally being a helpful member of the public by picking up other peoples 'errors'. A TON is a seriously good effort!
Chris thank you so much for helping the ecosystem i almost cried watching this because of all this plastic and litter, and i am so grateful what you have done, u should be so proud of urself ❤
You're a channel that's clearly skewed to a younger age group, so its so wonderful that you go on to show a great example like this. Thank you so much for all the hard work, and I'll have to go out and get my own litterpicker and set my own good example.
Well done to this man one of the only people in the uk that has made a tremendous difference I have been doing the same thing near where I live I have picked up 187 kgs
If even half of the population of Earth had the same kindness, humbleness and thoughtful mentality of Chris than our Earth wouldn't be in the state it is.
Huge props! How did you dispose of the non recyclable stuff? Did you have to pay or did your council/municipality honour your initiative by taking it off your hands for free?
You should be part of team seas(and over all cleaning the earth)! :D ... But its horrible to see how much trash you can see and chater. And its great to see people doing videos about this and helping. This needs to be seen more
Half-asleep Chris Goes to show one person can make a difference... Maybe this will get people motivated.. Thanks Chris... Salutations from California 👍
Just imagine what would happen if everyone did this. (I know that a lot of people wouldn’t because it’s a lot of work) Also thanks again for amount of effort out into this video!
This is a big problem here in india 🇮🇳 and is ignored but there are many independent teams who trying to change this. Thanks for your work for clean environment.
Dude you are bloody amazing! I'm just a kid so I can't leave the house much but I always makes sure to pick up any trash I find. I'm thinking over the next weekend ill try to do something similar!
I usually get annoyed at people who are so inconsiderate and leave their trash everywhere, so it’s amazing to see one person take days to clean an area up. Thanks Chris for spending your time to make the world a better place! (Not that you don’t already do that with your videos)!
Chris, your family and friends are blessed to have a friend like you. ❤️💚💝💜🧡🖤💙❤️💓💙💖💚💜🖤💛💜 The rest of us are blessed to have found you on you tube. My family loves you. Whenever we go hiking we take along empty trash bags. I have never enjoyed going anywhere and seeing trash. But I love to see the area when it is cleaned up. 😊 Thank you for removing one literal ton of trash, and for recycling it! You are my Hero!
You’ve inspired me to do this, as of now I am planning to go to my local woodland and pick up anything I see litter wise. Thank you so much for helping to save our planet. Together we can save the world one step at a time, because there is no planet b. Your content is very amusing especially when it is something as lovely as this❤️
Half asleep is one of the most wholesome channels I know. I’ve been addicted ever since you’re Golden Gate Bridge video, and I always love watching your videos weather it’s a video with the cats, an interesting topic, a craft or making the world a better place, it’s always addicting-ly wholesome to watch. I actually mean it when I say your videos have made me happier, or even a better person overall. Thank you
Chris, you make me believe that there’s still some hope left for the human race. Not only did You make an absolutely amazing and enjoyable video, but You actually made a huge difference for the nature. With this video You also made me happy, inspired and hopeful ❤️thank You
Well done Chris, we do the same down here in Cornwall, so much rubbish every where, and the council has the gall to put up signs of areas of outstanding natural beauty, yet do hardly anything to remove it, come on everyone let's get out there and do this.
Dude that was so inspiring i think a lot of people who watched this will notice more trash around them and pick it up. i really appreciate it and i love your videos!😊
I as a litterpicker absolutely love this video and it is very satisfying thank you for taking your time litterpicking and filming the inspiring video ❤
What a great initiative! I don't know if the UK has such projects yet, but here in Belgium we have a few government funded projects where volunteers pick up litter with those claw thingies and trash bags and the government pays to safely dispose of the litter and reduce overall trash when possible. They also pay for the trash bags. Most volunteers also sort there stuff first, so glass and cans and such are recycled, but if they decide not to, there are also volunteer stations that will do that. It's becoming very popular here and in my street alone there are almost 20 volunteers! I sadly can't go help as much due to my disabilities making it near impossible to bend over so often and from a muscle disease those claw things aren't really an option either as I can't grip them well enough. I do try to do my part, though and recycle and re-use every way I can and buy things with no/recyclable packaging if possible. My animals have quite a few enrichment games I made out of what would have been trash (with some help ofc). Bottlecaps for example are great for a sniffing box if cleaned and not sharp or even just to hide things under! Another popular one is a plastic bottle with holes in that I toss treats into, so they have to roll it around to get the treats.
I kind of found this odly satisfying. I find cleaning satisfying because you're getting rid of unwanted things. So this was satisfying for getting rid of it and helping the world. You're a good person chris.
You are an incredible, amazing young man and if everyone on the planet was as good as you how amazing would our world be? God bless you and thank you for all you’ve done here. The creatures that dropped every gram of waste you picked up are beyond scum. You’re the best, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I’m proud to be British when there’s others like you, I LOVE cats too! Your parents provided a lot more than their garden here, they’ve brought an amazing person to this planet XxxxX
What impresses me the most is the part where you organize and reorganize all the trash just for the stop motion bits 😅 Awesome video as always, it definitely motivated me to do something similar! Keep it up!
Chris! Thank you for doing this. I've been wanting to walk around my neighborhood and do something similar, and it's so great to see someone who didn't just think about it, but actually DO IT. I'll take this as a sign that I should spend an afternoon trying to do some local clean up as well
We had that in my country (Slovenia) for a few years 10 years ago but then it just stopped and idk why :/ we didn't take a day off work though, we just volunteered on a saturday.
Chris i love you. You are doing such good work, i love the dedication. This is very important work you are doing in this video. i absolutely love the dedication and work you are doing for the beautiful mother Earth
The former American writer David Sadaris, living in the United Kingdom has OCD. He has to work to exhaustion, everyday to beat down his OCD, so he can write at night. He picks up trash, on the English roads. They even gave him naughty boys, who are in trouble with the law, and they are working to clean up the roads too. He got an award from the Queen (Along with a few hundred other people.), For picking up so much trash. Thank you Chris, for picking up that trash.
When I watched this video, it brought me memories of when I first participated in community service. I didn't pick up trash or work alone, but a group of people from a non-profit organization and my family helped plant native species in an area that struggled to thrive on it's own. It was a fun and rewarding experience.
It's really satisfying to see the forests and streams all clear after you picked up everything. Thank you for showing everybody what's possible with time and effort. Right after the video ended, I got an ad in favor of packaging things in plastic bottles. I don't even know what to say to that.
My roommate and I stumbled across your channel during the lockdown. Your love of animals and fabulous projects have made you a favorite of ours, and now you’re doing community service as well. 😍 😍😍 I have just recommended your channel to my mom, brother, sister and friends. Ty. Keep up the good work.
I love your videos so much and you are a great role model if only people could be more like you the world would be wonderful !!!!!! 🥇You are a good person and everything you do is good for the planet 🌍♻️
