Thanks for trying out our demo! Glad you liked the visuals, and that it ran well. Maps are meant to be a bit non-linear, but we'll be beefing up the minimap and some landmarks in the full release. Also, not sure if something happened during editing, but it sounds like our trailer audio is playing throughout most of the clips of your RF playthrough in the background?

My favorites of this, as great retro style fps aesthetic which is my cup of tea, looks to be: -Relentless Frontier. -Hellslinger

I am highly impressed how long you managed to stick with Demonic Supremacy, I think I ragequit after 5 minutes. Also, I really dig this video format!

PS: I think our programmer, Alpha, mentioned it, but yeah, the different playable characters have different weapons, abilities, voicelines, etc, so replaying it switching characters will feel like a totally different experience ;)

Ok, that last demo, I'm probably going to buy for the sole reason the protagonist paraphrased a line from "Evil Dead: Ash vs the Army of Darkness". Just hearing her go "Good? Bad? I'm the one with the gun!" made me grin.

They must have updated the Relentless Frontier demo recently because the boss fight was WAY more hectic for me. At some point after breaking through his first layer of armor (or maybe when it got the second armor health bar, I'm not sure), flying drones started to spawn, eventually at a rate that outpaced how quickly I was killing them. For like the last 1/4 of the fight I had to just focus on the boss and hope that the dozen or so of its little friends raining shit on me would die once it was taken out (thankfully, they did). Kinda funny that the Relentless Frontier demo is probably the best demo I played during Realm's Deep '23 and it came out two months *before* the event.

I loved Hellslinger. I will download the demo and give a try! I love Doom community job and that thrash and chaotic sort of mods, maps and wads. Currently I do not have much time to play, so Boomer Shooters are basically what I am going into nowadays. I figured out you channel some days ago, and discovered many indie new shooters that fit my taste. Thanks for the great job Zlim, in my opinion, your channel is the best one for boomer shooters fanaticals that lived in 90s like me!

Awesome video Zlim. Great effort and thanx for showing those titles. Yes, the first one screams like Tron and I totally love Tron. I had to laugh at your statement in the second one, with the ammo you couldn't collect, because it's too much 😁 I feel exactly the same... sometimes I even shot then, just to collect it and the room is "clean". I guess we have the same ticks 😉 The game itself screams so heavy Max Payne, which I totally love. Can't wait for the remakes too. Absolutely love the graphic style of game 3. Beautful comic look. Instant wishlist candidate 🤗 Game 4 has some interesting visuals, but the rest is not to my liking. But at least cool music though. Love the cell shading look of game 5. Totally love it. Wishlist expansion here we go 🤣 For me Relentless Frontier and Hellslinger totally nailed it. Thx a lot for presentating these games. I really enjoyed the video and it was super entertaining. 🤩

Very nice Zim! These look cool AF. El Paso looks so good and why haven’t I seen a gun with a rear target indicator before? I play PVE with no reticle because I think almost every game looks and feels so much better that way and that would be a way for devs to introduce reticle-free modes. I’m on console (30 years a console peasant) so I have Boltgun, Project Warlock and the awesome Prodeus but videos like this, the modding scene and the giant Indy scene are going to be the reasons I finally get a PC. I have big PC envy lately.

I had some hopes for that El Paso thing, wondering whether it can deliver Max-Payne-like goodness, but this video clarified for me that it's not going to be the case. It looks more like a one-man-made homebrew game for the PSP, rather than something like Max Payne. After all, there was much more to Max Payne's appeal than just gunplay in bullet time. In fact, since BT was rather restricted in the OG game, it was more like a cool effect, but it was the atmosphere and storytelling that pulled you into its well-designed gameworld, rather than merely pulling the trigger. And these three key elements appear to be particularly flimsy in this one. If there is a game worthy of carrying on Max Payne's legacy - it's "Wanted: Weapons of Fate". Just like Max, it also introduced novelty shooting mechanics (which actually remain unique right to this very day!) and is otherwise as good as the adventures of the time-manipulating NYPD detective, sans the spectacular noir-styled storytelling, of course. So it's either that or replaying the original dilogy, imho. Also, for those who don't mind letting go of the bullet time effect, - The Punisher PC game was exactly like Max Payne, just without the slo-mo. Actually, even better as such. (+Thomas Jane) And, the original "Suffering" (not to detract from its awesome sequel), - was superior to either.

Boomershooter genre is really bussing. Cool that you dedicate your time on this, haven't really seen any of these games. So it was not clickbait for me.

Cyber Combat seems pretty smooth, look's fun and somehow remind me of Gunship (meets Tron lol) (if that was the name, sequal is Mothergunship i think, but never tried that) ... i can't believe you played Demonic Supremacy haha.. I tried that .. once -if we start to compare game's to that one, we might never be dissapointed again! -Hellslinger might be a good saturday night blast!

Looking good Zlimmy! I tried Hellslinger Demo a while ago and it was pretty fun. I'm not a fan of cartoony graphics but a boomer shooter is still good stuff in my book

There is no such thing as Boomer Shooters...My Mother, is a Boomer who is 75. These would be called Generation X Shooters...I am 50, I would be the X'er. Good video though!

El Paso Elsewhere, i played the demo during next fest. 16:00 ...and when the rap track starts, i knew those devs wheren't holding back.

It is crazy that gzdoom is used in so many games. I could never have imagined thirty years ago how much of an impact doom would have. The random Cyrillic letters in the tutorial text of demonic supremacy was a bad sign. ПМК? Huhhh????
