LOL quality over quantity, plus I still play both to this day, its not a competition. your comment is hilarious, get a clue and go play that trash ass online HAHAHAHA@@hostilesavage4299
Escaping from a high wanted level by running through alleys and switching cars can feel really exciting and fun. It's my favorite part of the game. Also, killing Playboy X will give you a safehouse, an outfit, and Dwayne will be available as a friend. Dwayne has a "call for backup" ability that can be unlocked by hanging out with him. Killing Dwayne will only give you 25k, and Playboy X disappears pretty much.
Dwayne is a terrible person. All he does is complain about his life. He’s mad at everyone else because he got locked up. But that’s no one else’s fault but his own. He even put a hit on his own girlfriend. His goons suck too; they die quickly
For those that have any taste, they will acknowledge that GTA4 is by far the best game in the series, and legitimately one of the best games of all time.
not necessarily, I mean I like gta 4 but it isn't right to make people have to like it because I know not everyone will and it is a bit mean to say those people that don't like gta 4 have bad taste because of it. people will have good reason to prefer other gta games or not be really into gta at all, it's simply an opinion at the end of the day and we shouldn't try to make it objective.
@CursedAnqxl you're right about that. It's a personal preference but boy you can't tell that to GTA 5 fans. All these games do good with what they offer players and people like what they like. To me GTA 4 is a great game especially with its darker themed story and it's a different feel compared to the other GTA games that feel the same for the most. GTA 5 feels like the previous games with new gen graphics but damnit it takes away going to Burger Shot lol but in all fun all of the GTA games are good but 4 has that dark element that makes it stand out more than the others
I just started re-playing GTA IV on my PC after re-playing GTA V and I completely agree. GTA IV is my favorite. I was surprised how great the physics and car damage is
What I love about GTA IV is how Liberty City is portrayed. Modern-day New York City is a very colorless place to live it's full of chaos and i understand it's not everybody's flavor. But that's part of the NYC experience it's not called the city that never sleeps for nothing.Say what you want about Niko Bellic but believe it or not he's one of my favorite video game characters ever.I have respect for him because he wants to live the "American Dream" and is willing to do whatever it takes to make that dream become a reality. It's incredible to me how beautiful GTA IV still looks, feels and sounds.I highly recommended the game along with both episodes from Liberty City one of the rare good DLCs.
Lol he absolutely hates america and the concept of american dream an capitalist through logical and not brainwashed lenses. Roman believed the dream and only he cares for it. Funny how the only way to achieve it is through extreme luck (gambling) and/or doing crime. Even government sponsored crime
Yes, but in GTA 4 you can't get tattoos, you can't cut your hair, there are few clothes, few cars, you can't tune cars, there are no planes, there are no bikes, there are no tanks, few weapons, there is no minigun, there is a smaller map where there is nothing to do, the gameplay is too slow, clunky and boring, the missions are repetitive and slow, the driving sucks, the grey colors make it even more boring, The city feels boring because there is always a huge silence with a background sound that repeats over and over again, there is bad optimization, a lot of lag, unnecessary realism, very simple radio and etc.
but you do spin out in all gta games if you go too fast and turn, but gta 4 is just mind numbingly annoying with its driving. I don't care if you consider it "more realistic", it's terrible for gameplay. it's simply a fact. also the higher your frame rate, the worse gta 4 driving gets. but ah yes, realism.
In V, I never felt compelled to hang out with any of the characters or do many activities. In IV, I always felt like it was pushed more and you wanted to actually hang with these characters. IV just had a slower pace to it but in a way that I actually prefer over V’s faster pace.
The setting and mechanics in GTA V really felt like Southern California, while GTA IV had great characters like Roman, Little Jacob, Brucie, Packie, and Dwayne. Kidnapping Gracie was the funniest mission in the game, and the bank robbery was a fun mission.
@@dchang11 WE ALREADY KNOW THAT GTA 4 HAS THE BEST STORY, WE ALREADY KNOW THAT, THEY'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR 8 YEARS, WE ALREADY KNOW, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S THE BEST GTA, EVEN GTA SAN ANDREAS OR GTA VICE CITY CAN EASILY BEAT GTA 4
If it helps to say, OP, I concur: GTA IV was indisputably the best story of any of the GTA games, even if V is technically better. Do not forget, too, that it still had police and taxi missions, something I hope VI remembers to restore. I, too, wish they had remastered IV. It deserved a far longer lifespan than its successor. I accept, alas, I am probably in the minority.
Admittedly, when GTA 5 came out, when I was 14, I thought it was amazing, and rightfully so, but as I've grown and matured, I've realized that GTA 5 is a Hollywood epic action movie, designed with the most ridiculous shenanigans taking place, while GTA 4 was a highly detailed, realistic crime drama. I've stopped playing 5 for the most part, as I've played through the whole story over 10 times and have grown tired of it. I've tried playing GTA online, but have become fed up with the constant micro-transactions and try hard players. I've gone back to GTA 4, playing the game with no cheats, watching every cutscene to better understand the story, and am taking my time playing realistically and paying attention to all the detail. To put it short: GTA5 is an action blockbuster for kids, while gta4 is a crime drama for adults and cinema fanatics.
GTA 5 is more adult based than IV. GTA5 is a GTA game that brought back some of the best stuff. GTA IV tried too hard to be realistic and missed what made GTA fun.
@@Hidden_lvl That's what makes GTA 4 so good that it was different from the rest of the GTA games. It actually tried something different and it did it well imo and a lot of people do agree too. It may not be for everybody and for people who like the more crazy and wacky side of GTA they will like GTA 5 more but I enjoy both the serious and the wacky. Plus if you wanted that more fun and light hearted side of GTA in GTA 4 you could get that with the Ballad of G** Tony DLC pack
@@artistanthony1007 let me rephrase, both games are popular with kids, but gta 4 is more popular amongst kids who want to make themselves look different. Both titles are also played by adults.
GTA V feels so empty and soulless when playing GTA IV is immersive, had an amazing story actually legendary will go down in history as one of the best story lines for single player, plus the online mode is very fun.
What I hated most about this game is the lack of checkpoints during missions so if you died half way through a lengthy mission you’d have tore start at the very beginning but other than that I actually really enjoyed this game
You have to be very noob then. Missions in this game are not that long, and are not even that difficult. I could understand if you wanted a checkpoint in missions like San Andreas where you have to travel a whole state, but in IV?
Fun fact: The switchable 3 character idea was came from gta 4 but the hardware and technology wasnt good enough to implement it so it all became a dlc but it all came true in gta 5
@@vegeta-77 gta sa originally supposed to have 3 character as playable character with the same switching mechanic that shown on gta v. but the mechanic got scrapped because of the limitation. the playable character probably would be cj, sweet, and cesar
Not only is it better than 5 but it's better by a lot but I had so much more fun and enjoyment playing 4 and I love the story a lot more. Niko Belic is such a badass and amazing GTA character meanwhile Michael, Franklin and Trevor were cool characters but they had nothing on Nico.
When you become skilled at driving between cars and knowing when to brake/accelerate mixed with the handbrake. Drifting around corners and flying in between traffic is the best feeling
I just started replaying GTA 4 last week for no reason other than boredom. I forgot how much I liked it. Hated driving at first but once I got the hang of it again it was a super fun replay.
Another awesome video! Replaying IV was great. On replay, it really made me appreciate both IV & V in their own unique ways. IV was so ahead of its time and V made a lot of refinements to the foundation IV set.
idk I feel like the only thing GTA V did was remove good features like having the dumbed down car/helicopter physics and ragdolling. Ofc it did good things, but all it did was bring back features from san andreas and added a character switch system that made me hate two of the characters rather than making the story more expansive. I think the only thing I really liked was the car customization and the weapons. And in regards to the map I prefer IV's, that's really opinion based but still even san andreas' map had more to offer both for style and gameplay.
The beginning when Roman is drunk by the taxi, it’s supposed to be playing “Ein shine shine, chickey chickey shine aye ey” but they removed that for fucking copyright stuff. I just find it so dumb that for videogames, developers don’t make a deal with music people to just get the song and let it stay. Basically the entire Russian station has none of the songs we remember now.
*Big spoilers in this comment, be warned* Great video. You did miss a few things that would have enhanced your experience in my opinion. If you kill Playboy, you get his penthouse. You also become friends with Dwayne, who has a very cool perk if he likes you enough. He sends you an email asking to hang out, which is easy to miss. You have to reply positively to the email, and your new friend is unlocked. There will be some interesting dialogue between him and Niko whenever you go do something with him. He is glad to be free, but is still very negative due to the long time he spent in prison and the realisation that everyone from his past has dropped him, essentially leaving Niko as his only friend. After several conversations Niko tells him to be more positive. Normally this would be a harsh thing to say to an ex-con, but Niko gets away with it. He was a soldier in his teenage years, so he's an absolute authority on having to live with past trauma. These optional friendship outings really transform Dwayne from a stereotype to one of the more interesting characters in the game. If you spare Darko, there will be some interesting dialogue between Niko and Roman during the drive home. Niko realised nothing would change if he killed Darko, he would just be dead like everyone from their squad. This doesn't mean he's suddenly at peace with his past or anything, but it does set up the point of Niko being able to move past betrayals if revenge doesn't seem to really hold any benefits, aside from revenge for the sake of revenge. This last bit is important to my next argument. You get the option of doing a deal with Dimitri for Pegorino , or killing Dimitri. If you do the revenge mission, Pegorino shows up at Roman's wedding and kills Kate, which leads into the ending of you killing Pegorino like you did in this playthrough. If you choose to do the deal, Dimitri will fuck you over once again, which leads to one of his assassins coming to Roman's wedding and killing Roman. The final mission will be you chasing after Dimitri instead of Pegorino. The first one is knows as the "revenge ending", the second one as the "deal ending". A lot of long time fans argue for the revenge ending being the better one, as Niko would never trust Dimitri again, and Kate is less of a loss than Roman is to the player. I actually argue for the deal ending being better, although more bitter. When you get the choice between revenge and deal, Niko gets calls and messages from Kate and Roman. Kate tells Niko she doesn't want anything to do with him if he chooses to deal with Dimitri again. Roman wants Niko to do the deal, because this will make them wildly rich and they can finally live the American Dream Roman has been pretending to live all this time. He wants this all the more since he is getting married to Mallorie. With these choices set up, I like to think Niko would do the deal for his cousin. He loves Roman, and even though he lied to Niko before he came to LC, he has suffered a lot. Niko realises that killing Dimitri would satisfy his need for revenge, but Roman is more important. This realisation aligns with the sparing of Darko I mentioned. I often see the argument that Dimitri betrays Niko so this choice is stupid, but it's important to note Niko doesn't know this in advance. He never really trusts Dimitri of course, but he just hás to try for his cousin. So in this scenario, Niko has tried his best for Roman, but is left betrayed by Dimitri. The wedding is still on, so Niko attends. Dimitri doesn't leave loose ends, so he sends an assassin for Niko. Niko fights him off, but in the process Roman gets killed. This loss hurts infinitely more than losing Kate, which is exactly why it's a far more powerful moment. It's heartbreaking for the player, which fits really well in Niko's tragic story After Roman's death, Niko chases after Dimitri and kills him. This is a far more fitting ending to the story, since Dimitri is essentially Niko's archenemy from the beginning of the game. Pegorino is an annoying prick, but if a few of the last missions had went differently him and Niko wouldn't even be enemies. Niko tried his hardest to make choices that benefitted his cousin. He knows he himself will never know happiness after the things he has seen and done in the Yugoslav Wars, but if he can make his cousin happy he will put everything on the line to achieve that. He puts aside his need for revenge to do this, and still loses out. Roman dies, which absolutely breaks him. Now he has no more reason to let go of his revenge, so he finally goes after Dimitri. He kills him, feeling no more satistied. The only thing he still feels is pain. Mallorie calls him to tell him she's pregnant with Roman's child, so now she has to raise a child without a father. Niko tries to assure her the child will never have any worries, but Mallorie knows a child without a father is going to have a rough life. All in all, the deal ending is just painful and sad. Many players argue that this makes it the bad ending, but I feel it's the right ending. Niko's story is a tragedy. He doesn't come to Liberty City for the American Dream, he comes looking for revenge on someone who betrayed him half a lifetime ago. He makes some friends, but mostly is drawn into a negative spiral of murder and mayhem, and those around him get dragged along. Him trying to be the better man in the end but still losing just fits this story perfectly. It's rough for sure, but it's amazing writing. In fact, it is so well written I believe this to be the canon ending. I believe the writers intended it to be the ending, but Rockstar knew the players would hate them too much. They introduced the other ending to give some more superficial satisfaction, but to me it just doesn't feel like it can really be the true story. So, there's my two cents. I did not plan to spend half an hour writing an opinion piece about a game from 2008. but here we are. Feel free to call me a heartless bastard for choosing the deal ending every time, or question my sanity as I do myself. All good, as long as we agree we should be happy to be able to replay this timeless classic, as terribly ported and neglected by Rockstar as it is. Niko will not be forgotten. Later, cousins. Let's go bowling soon
Just made a gta 5 review I do agree in some aspects but it’s undeniable that gta 5 made some gameplay changes that are substantial in quality! Still prefer gta 4 myself but in general it was a big improvement
Playing again still great. The fact that the side quests are not marked is great gives a sense of discovery The Side activites add allot to niko. The choices you make can lead to Other side quests, Dating Kiki can lead her to messing your car up if you get caught cheating. The Physics are great and getting Drunk is lots of fun Plus the story is also great. Its great game all ready.
GTA IV is the best written story in the series and the attention to fine details in recreating NYC are still pretty mind blowing 15 years later. IV and San Andreas are the most replayable to me but IV edges out SA because once I start playing IV I feel the need to beat it as where San Andreas first 10 or 15 hours are usually what I go back for
Yet the dev's claim it was "so depressing" when they made it...They should go deep into philosophy to find out why it's soo good...yet 6 is WhoaKeAF...funny how everything changed
I’m gonna buy a PS3 with GTA IV with TBOGT and TLAD alongside Black ops 1 and 2 😁 can’t wait to have chilled weekends with the PS3 like the old days again 🙏😮💨
One of my top GTA games! Loved the driving felt so much more realistic and the damage to people and cars was top notch considering the time this game came out vs GTA V! Forever classic I hope we get these mechanics back for GTA 6 😭
The point of the Pegorino part of the story makes sense if you watch the professionals breakdown of it. He pretty much goes into detail on how bad Pegorino is of a boss and how delusional he is. Also Playboy and Dwayne the professional does a good video on as well. Dwayne like niko says reminds him of himself and he has pity for him. And if you keep Dwayne alive and hang out with him you’ll see that Dwayne is pretty much just a tortured soul, and there’s actually a good person underneath it all who was dragged into a life of crime. However, playboy is a complete dickhead who uses anyone to get further in the world of crime. He even speaks down to niko, he also insinuates he wants to get rid of Dwayne and gets niko to say it first so he can then blame it on him and that it was nikos idea to kill him. Even though he asks niko to kill Dwayne he gets angry at him after which to me shows how he’s an arsehole. Very similar to Dimitri
14:44 counterpoint in this mission you dont have to brute force attack. you can blend in as a doctor and "flatline" anthony. and one mission to kill in Mr. Fuk restaurant, you can shot the tyre of the car (that will be used on escape) before attacking so when the target escape I kid you not, they escape with flat tyre and hitting anything xD. (in the next playthrough I use bomb from packie and blow it when the escape) I remember those two vividly because I just felt happy that I can do that without the game tells you.
22:30 And man, I will not forgive anyone who choosing to kill Dwayne. him and X story maybe insignificant, but Dwayne is easily the most empathetic story for Nico. if you follow the cutscene you will understand. how X always sees Dwayne as bother, and Dwayne just need a friend and trying to get back together from zero after prison. and yet GTA still gives you choice which to kill who?! dayum this mission maybe just a test how many people skip cutscene or just finish GTA asap.
This is the best GTA game in my opinion. The story and characters alone raise it to the top of the list for me. Such an incredible game from beginning to end.
Gta 4 is the best story line out of all the gta games the whole game was a masterpiece for its time I pray that one day rockstar remaster the game for nextgen with fully updated graphics and gameplay
The story and physics of gta iv, is way much better than in will ever be, GTA 4 is really fun to play. V singleplayer feels empty, a hollywood story which replayablity is low. I just started a new game on 4, lasttime i did that on V was on the ps3.. its no fun. GTA IV is old Rockstar, the good one. I hope they still got it I played every gta and im a big fan of the red dead series. I was a big fan of rockstar they were my favorite, not anymore now, they have 1 of the best singleplayer story gamesand i like singleplayer more then online. Im afraid they gonna ditch it, that will be a shame In my opinion it is a fact that 4 is better then V. I dont care if someone reads this, probably i needed to get this off my chest.
I’ve been playing GTA IV since it came out and I still do :) Without a doubt the best and the most realistic GTA game ever made and it features the most badass protagonist who happens to be Serbian like me :)
He didn't "tear apart" the game. He presented some criticism, which either stems from personal opinion (which you and me are allowed to disagree with) or the game's age. He also gave the game praise. Chillax, people will always have differing opinions from yours and mine.
Idk why people struggle so much with 4 shooting & driving, honestly i gotta be an elitist on this but yall just suck & have no skill. Getting head shots is piss easy & simple lock on drag up slightly pop. U can use a glock through most the game like that as i have. Driving spend time learning the physics & weight then it should be easy like irl driving. 4 feels & plays way better than 5 idk y they made cars arcadey but now driving takes no skill so everyone should be good while people like me are just drift kings still but the skill gap has been severely dropped.
All people talk about is the damn physics and forget the huge list of shit missing from 4 that made it boring. It’s a really amazing immersive GTA. One of the best. But 5 is definitely better and way more playable and replayable. Over half of gta 4 is literally Niko going to kill someone and that’s it. Super repetitive. Shit cars. No planes. Smaller map than the ones before it, Online wasn’t nearly as good as 5. No clothes. No car customizations. Money is basically worthless cuz you can’t buy anything. Less weapons. No one ever mentions that shit and just talks about how good the physics are and realistic some parts are lol.
@@Comradpetito Stop spamming the same copy/paste bs. GTA4 is objectively better, only little kids defend GTA5 because they never even played anything else.
This comment is heavily based off my experience with the game recently.😵 Honestly, the driving mechanism has always been an argument since then but in my realest opinion this thing does have its own drawbacks and benefits.😵 Firstly, the suspension thing is a good poin, it does give the cars more weight. Therefore, bringing us more realistic elements and it also gives us the ability to easily get through the highly congested traffic in the game ( if u set the density to 100 ), driving feels like on a boat but its really memorable.😵 However, the bad thing i think is actually about the acceleration of all the cars (even the best cars), too much slow and cannot bring up the speed people want.😵 Besides, the drifty handling is another element that ruined the whole driving system. Personally, i could mange it pretty good within a few days of playing but with other players, idk might be too annoying.😵
Very true but I was on mouse and keyboard Niko had a mind of his own, might as well flipped me off while he dived over the cover I tried to get him to take lmfao
@@JacksGameReviews yes harder with only the 8 directions of keyboard than with analogue controller, but I still feel like I have more control of Niko on PC
Its all opinion based but the one thing that is factual is that this game has the most childish and cancerous community, soured the game for me, i almost feel inclined to shit on Iv just to spite these little whiny bastards.
The aesthetic was clearly to represent Niko's perspective and thoughts on life and America, he doesnt see America as an amazing place because of what he's been through and whatnot.
I bought GTA IV again for my Xbox One a few days ago. Loved the game back in 2008 and still am enjoying it even if it looks dated next to GTA V. But to objectively say GTA IV is better than GTA V is asinine. There are things GTA IV does better than GTA V, but also things GTA V does better than GTA IV. There's a reason GTA V was and after all these years still is the fastest selling entertainment product of ALL TIME and every open world game tries the claim they are better than GTA V but always fail by comparison even when they are amazing games, GTA V is still in a league of it's own. GTA IV was also amazing for it's time and is still an awesome game. It feels a bit bare bones compared to GTA V but GTA IV was also revolutionary for it's time and still holds up well today compared to other games that aren't GTA V (and in some regards GTA V itself). GTA V gets a lot of hate due to the predatory and tired nature of Online, but without a doubt I definitely had a lot more fun and got more closure playing GTA V as it was a much more ambitious and vibrant game than it's predecessor. Of course San Andreas is always going to be my all time favourite GTA just because I can also relate more to CJ than any other character in the series but also because it was the most innovative and ambitious GTA as a whole, but GTA IV will always be a great game because it's a great game. Niko is easily the deepest and most nuanced character in the series and that's why many prefer GTA IV, but again it all boils down to preference. It's just GTA V had a similar impact to San Andreas on gaming and no other GTA games have had as big an impact, despite all having big impacts.
No, it’s not even close to be better. Hell, it’s not even close to be as good as GTA V is. Maybe, MAYBE, on the physics department it is slightly better. But on every other aspect, it’s considerably an inferior game.
Bruh please. GTA V barely does anything better, V is a downgrade in nearly every core gameplay aspect. Movement/climbing, AI, police/wanted system, gunplay/melee combat, health mechanics, explosion mechanics, mission/side activity/open world freedom, etc... you name it.
Didn't like IV on launch. Now it's the only one I go back to every few years. Wish they would've kept some of the customization options, duel welding weapons, and side stuff from San Andreas tho. Still much better than V. That game is my least fav in the entire series. Also I dig the physics and lack of checkpoints in IV. It added to the gritty realism of being a desperate immigrant in a gritty situation.
i used to like san andreas and vice city the best, and both have their own atmosphere to the game. but all in all gta iv is the best , factually. the mechanics, the casting, the script, the voice actors, the story, the city, the npc's, it all blends in perfectly. vice city has the greatest atmosphere, san andreas has 3 states, but iv is just the best. the only thing missing from 4 is properties. that is litterally the only thing that is missing from this ultimate r* masterpiece. there are mods yes, but those suck to be honest with you. i will play gta iv till i die most likely.
Its a great game but I never get into the newly Gta 4 hype trend while hating on other game in the series (especially Gta SA and 5). Each person like different things.
I’d agree if you’re looking for a story with more depth GTA IV is the game for you. If you want a good laugh and a more entertaining game to play GTA V is the way to go. I personally prefer GTA V, but storytelling wise IV is the better game 100%. Guess I like the some good entertainment!
Good game but GTAV improved a lot. For GTA4, the on foot gunplay was a bit rough, as I wasn't able to run and gun in the game like you can in GTAV. Here it's more like walk and gun unless they fixed it. The car brakes were rough, locking the car in a straight line many times. The bikes pivot on a center axis, which makes they a bit weird to control.
@@TheGuyWithStuff as someone who was introduced to the series by 5, 4 is clunky as all hell. my first thoughts when playing the game was "the driving, movement, and shooting are clunky as hell" and i dropped it. I picked it back up later but man 5 improved so much upon 4s gameplay, everything in 5 feels so much smoother, and thats ignoring the checkpoints which makes the missions 100x better
I think Niko's Revenge Goal being set aside for the sake of other more important matters he must prioritize such as earning money by working for some pretty messed up people so he and Roman can survive in the city, was kind of a hidden moral of the story that GTA IV was trying to tell. We probably all have experienced at one point in our lives where we wanted to punch someone in the face because they got away for the mess they've created, and we who were the innocents got in trouble and blamed for something they've done, but instead of preparing to get back at those people with fire in our eyes, we just kind of end up forgetting our main goals and started doing other things that are actually helping other people that we cared about. So the moment we finally got an opportunity to punish the bullies who caused our lives a living hell, it just didn't feel.... ultimate, for lack of better terms. It just suddenly felt underwhelming when we finally got the opportunity to punch their faces in the end, and I think it's because we didn't actually use our time trying to gain some muscles to give a proper and satisfying beating for our enemies despite wanting to do it for like say, 10 years like Niko had, but instead, we spent the whole time with our families, making friends along the way, and working for money like a normal person in the real world. That's why Niko's _"Revenge,"_ didn't actually feel like the point of GTA IV's Revenge Story overall, but it was the time that was spent trying to prepare for that Revenge we've been wanting to get all this time. And throughout GTA IV's story, besides the countless amount of killing people and driving around the city, we've actually made new friends, learned so much about them, and even got a few laughs and giggles here and there, when the truth is, we should've been spending the whole time looking for the people we hate and preparing ourselves about what we should say to them and how we should punish them. That was the sweetness and light-heartedness of GTA IV hidden in plain sight under its dark atmosphere, violence, and harsh story. Even though Niko also experienced some more betrayal in the main story, he didn't really try going after Dmitri until the very end, because as much as Niko wanted Revenge for those who betrayed him, he's also trying to get away from that violent and cruel nature of him killing more people deep down, like how if you call Roman after killing Ray Boccino, Niko just straight up expresses how he tired he feels to his cousin asks him about how much can he go on in dealing in death like he sounds depressed, which is why he ignored Dmitri when he first betrayed him, but the moment he killed Roman, that was something Niko will not ignore, not like he could anyway, Niko even says it in one of his Dialogues. Just goes to show there was more to GTA IV's Revenge Story than just Revenge, because what is a Revenge Story, without the friends you lost along the way. More often than not, Niko spending time with Roman and working so both of them can have money to survive is what helps him avoid this whole Revenge goal of his, and just helps him focus on the people he has right now who are still alive and whom he finds happiness which serves as a Good kind of Distraction from what is a Seriously Bad Ambition or Goal he's trying to achieve... well, unless some bad dudes who betrayed him came in and killed one of his loved ones, thus disturbing that peace and bringing Niko back into achieving his Revenge Goal more than ever. I've said this once, and I'll say it again. GTA IV's Revenge Story is more than just Revenge, and it's a lot more well-crafted, and brilliantly well-written than people who already try to make it out to be, like me. GTA IV is truly a Masterpiece.
yes it is. by a long shot. one of my favourite games of all time. the remade Liberty City has such a true living feel about it. played so much I stopped using taxis and started getting trains where possible. the view across parts of the city from the train is really impressive. I also like the faded dirty autumn colour pallete of 4 aswell.
You can throw grenades further by hold the throw button for a second. Also, if you kill playboy, not only do you get his penthouse but Dwayne will send you an email and if you reply positively to him, you can hang out with him. If you do decide to hang out with him, not only do you get to know his story better, he also gives you the ability to call backup. You also absolutely need to hang out with kate quite a few times to understand the relationship that you, as the player, and Niko has with her for her death to be impactful. I actually cried when she died. Niko truly loved her. She was his only shot at living a normal life. When I first played the game, I felt I had a meaningful relationship with all of the characters as I made sure to hang out with them until they had no more dialogue to say. It really does make a difference as now, you know their backstories and the relationship between them and Niko. It also develops Niko's backstory quite a bit. Driving around the city and seeing NPCs carry out their lifes is amazing. There is always something happening. Even walking around can be entertaining. They can be really funny at times.
@@biohazord2522 no, you need to kill playboy, once that's done, Dwayne will send you an email saying he wants to hang out with you. You need to reply positively or otherwise you will not be able to hang out with him. Once that is done, he will call you later to do something. You only need to hang out with him a few times. He will eventually call you to say that you can call him if you need help. Dwayne won't help you himself, he will send two guys to help you as backup. They aren't incredibly helpful but they're better than nothing.
GTA IV has the best characters. They all have their reasons to be how they are, it makes them all interesting and I can relate to most of them, even the less important ones (Kiki, Hossan, etc) or the most annoying ones (Vlad, Manny). Characters in V are just a bunch of despicable aholes and fools, the worst being Trevor : a violent ruthless psycho yelling rudely all the time... 😖
I thought the driving was more natural in GTA4... The only people I can see thinking GTA5 had better or more realistic driving are people who never drove...lol!
I just started playing GTA IV, was installed on an Asus laptop I've had for about 14 years , and I got to say, it's amazing. I remember I started playing it years and years ago but never really got into it. Did a couple of missions and then quit.. decided to start playing again just for the hell of it, and damn. Yeah, game is gold. Can't stop playing now!
GTA 4 is a great story and game and my favourite by a large margin compared to all the other games , I still play it today , got like 13 different saves at all my favourite missions,Nico is my favourite GTA character story and to play as as well , all around awesome . GTA 4 is gangster AF
Gta IV is for the seasoned fans & diehards. Gta V is for kids and the noobs. Gta 5 to me was such a disappointment. Yeah i said it. Its corny and feels like san andreas all over agin.
GTA IV with the handling file modified to make the cars accelerate just a LITTLE BIT faster and corner just a LITTLE BIT better equals probably the best driving simulation in a video game outside of literal dedicated car games. Also, yeah easily best story, best protagonist and most alive world in the whole franchise. Overall, the best GTA game. I've played through it many times! Graphics aside, this 2008 game has aged incredibly well.
After so many years, everytime i playthrough Gta 4 just goofing around with the game i fnd that it still surprises me with certain details and story bits, in contrast to that point i've 100% completed Gta 5 three times since i first got it but always get bored with it way faster than 4 or the 3d era games, it's like 5 has no identifiable personality after the early game
I have more of a blast fucking around in 4 than I do 5 5 is great at what it tries to do 4 is great at what it tries to do and what it doesn’t try to do
I keep waiting for GTAV to get fun. I’ve been playing it for months. It feels like GTAV is just a long boring long distance driving simulator. For real, I spend more time getting between missions than doing the missions. And some of the missions are just driving to and from start to finish. It’s so boring. I really don’t enjoy playing GTAV.
Yea the driving is gold! If you can’t play racing games on a manual transmission (don’t apply to GTA4) and without ANY assist what so ever you won’t like the driving! I LOVE the driving it’s more realistic than GTA5
