Atleast minecraft treated dnd with more respect than dnd did minecraft. The monsters were cool but that adventure was almost rage inducing

Now I want this adventure translated into actual D&D

The moment around the gelatinous cube is nice attention to detail not everyone notices. The only time I’ve heard it brought up before this was I believe XP to Level 3 discussing his clean floor puzzle

Hearing Demogorgon monolog made me look up his stat block and I was blown away when I saw he had a 20 intelligence. I thought he was just a rampaging, angry monster but despite his motifs of madness they are actually brilliant.

Ok, Katra's voice actress sold this for me. That was some real betrayal in her voice

For a bunch kicked off their Minecraft Marketplace career with baby's first adventure maps, this is pretty impressive.

The idea that a gelatinous cube would leave a floor absolutely spotless is something I'd never even considered! In my opinion, that was the best part of the game. LENGTHY EDIT: Here's an idea for those who've chosen to make fun of me for apparently not knowing the most basic information about the above: I'm in my 50's and discovering late in life that I'm neurodivergent because of exactly how much I read, but can barely retain much of that information. I've read the entry on gelatinous cubes at least a dozen times. Want to know what I remember? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. HD, CR, AC...? Not a one. Alternatively, off the top of my head, I can tell you that 14-year-old Leonard Thompson was the first diabetic to receive an insulin injection in January of 1922. This insulin came from the work of Dr. Frederick Banting, Dr. Charles Best, J. J. R. Macleod, and Dr. James Collip. Macleod provided the resources to Banting, which included 10 dogs, the most that could be spared for testing. (I'm against vivisection, but since this is personal, I'll make an exception.) Best was one of TWO assistants available to Banting, but only one could be paid, so the choice was decided by a coin flip! After isolating insulin, Dr. James Collip refined and purified the would-be medication. Banting and Macleod won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine. They initially REJECTED the prize because it failed to include Collip and Best. They eventually accepted the award after it was agreed to share the prize money with Collip and Best. Honestly, it feels like it could be a pretty interesting module on its own. Also, the idea of a gelatinous cube being like a sort of sewer cleaner is a brilliant one and one I'm upset I've never thought of. If nothing else, this game actually has some solid ideas, it just could have been better fleshed out.

Pretty cool story overall! Kind of annoyed at Demogorgon for monologuing about Out of the Abyss since he casually tosses in a bit of a story spoiler- I sent this to my friends who I plan to run the adventure for before finishing it so that’s really my fault lol. I made sure they were aware of that as soon as I realized… I really like that they actually used the ego of dragons- gold dragons are good aligned, but they’re still _dragons,_ so it’s completely in character for Vehr to risk Katra’s life and sanity. I like that she called him out on the “you think you’re more important than me” thing because even if Vaer is a good dragon, he is a dragon talking to a human. It is very likely that he would have that bias and superiority in him. I obviously don’t know how much they play into that since I only saw the snippets in this video, but still. I like that he was a flawed character because with how dragons tend to be very pure creatures of their alignment it can be easy to forget a pure lawful good creature can be flawed like that. “Human,” in a way, despite being so much more powerful than a human.

“Oh, a balor!” Me: “Balor? When I hear bat-like, I think of nabassu… I guess balor works too.” And then it was indeed a nabassu Weirdly proud of getting that right

I want to buddy up with the dragon and go on more adventures with him. The story was pretty cool and the animation was nice to look at. I hope they continue more with the dnd story in the future. I really liked this. And it shows what Minecraft is really capable of. This should at least get more attention

I remember talking to a friend a few years ago and I mentioned that Minecraft could potentially be one of the best games to play dnd in. With how moddable it is, one could create pretty much any open story in it.

I like how he needs a reason to care about the devils and demons as if his home realm being invaded wouldn't very obviously be bad for him regardless XD

Okay that was actually really cool. Bringing up the different cultures, including the Avowed of Candlekeep. Yeah. This is neat.

First of all never try to get sucked up by a gelatinous cube. That never ends well. Secondly I find that it's often really awesome to put random things in my game that later relevant through plot. Why are the demons there? We'll find out later. Or in my case it's more like why is there a giant pirate ghost ship floating in the sky? Who knows🤷

The Voice actors for Katra and Vaer (I think that’s how you spell it) are so powerful. Their emotions! They definitely popped in the last bits.

Puzzle idea: there's eched carvings in silvein but there's a deep filth preventing the full text being read. There's also many ozzes around the dungeon around strangly clean chambers🧐 Solution: get the ozzes to the silvein writing, rewards galore 😎

The monster stat blocks for DND was actually free on DND beyond so I got it. Can't remember what I thought of it.

That first boss you beat looked like a Relentless Juggernaut. They literally warp space in order to make obstacles and periculous objects appear and affect the PCs. That's probably how it's throwing rocks at you

If they happen to make updates for this game, I hope they'll add a Bard Class

Charisma starts low for a wizard because you don't start as a Rizzard, you have to work for it.

I wonder if you wouldn't enjoy Wynncraft after this too. It's a Java server that is effectively its own, free MMO made with just plugins, command blocks and a resource pack in Minecraft. Gear is primarily random loot with a ton of variety, you have a full on skill tree and I personally love how abilities are done - it's all a combination of left- and right-clicks, so fast spell execution has a bit of player skill involved in it as well. Plus, the music is iconic and as for the builds, when you have a build team led by Grian doing their job with passion, you're in good hands.

I’ll be honest, this was the best map on the marketplace I’ve ever bought. Genuinely. Amazing voice-acting, a decent Diablo IV style fighting system, and I’ll be honest here it wasn’t that bad of a story either. Still slightly sad you missed this really cool moment in a side quest tower where Vaer speaks through Kara to prove to a group of Dragonborns following Tiamat that yes, there *is* a dragon in this human’s body… and then Vaer gets a bunch of Dragonborn servants when he gets his body back so there’s that.

The whole "skills with cooldowns" thing reminds me of dnd4e and it's encounter powers... or warlocks ig... i meeeeeeaaaan... the golden dragon soul might count as a patron, huh?

Tbh, this looks pretty fun and not at all bad for a minecraft map.

for what we can see its decent content, specialy for a game in a game. its kinda hard to make VERRY good stuff with minecraft commandblocks , data pack helps a lot and Bedrock offer more option. java would stay the best with mod support that can handle way more complex stuff but not as easy to implement for noobies
