Doug never fails to run the craziest D&D games on the platform 🌶 Silver's Monster Girl Manual is also back if you missed it! silversmgm.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
@@DeltaDubs89 Ougdoug is that guy who eliminated poverty. He's a really cool guy and us all hating him didn't stop his (at the time) current project of inventing a cure for cancer. The only reason we hated him is because of DougDoug's evil manipulation. He told us that OugDoug hated Rosa the sea otter and wanted to steal the money raised for her birthday. This is one of the main reasons for r/wehatedougdoug existing.
"You would need to change the entire molecular structure of the cheese in order to do this." Blaine. You are never gonna belive what cooking does to something.
The problem with limited resources is that chaters won't use them and when chatters do use them, all of the rest of chat will get married for "wasting' the ability .its the Skyrim potions problem but what if we need it later
@@FormerlyDucknot sure if it’s irony but uh I think he meant to say marred, which means spoiled or ruined. So they’re trying to say if someone use the item, the rest of chat will feel they ruined the experience because xxx
An option could be to have them refresh every new location or chatter, but have the use amount really low. But I do think that Doug's way is probably better for the purpose of funny video.
The bear story reminds me of the first time I played where one of the players played a piece of toast. It was a wizard toast, could speak telepathically and we used it to look under a door
I think this was just a meme for chat. It was meant to be a funny, and not something extremely cohesive. That was established at the very beginning of the stream with, "So I'm going to not do any prep work and make chat do it themselves!" More an experiment for laughs driven entirely by the community than anything else.
A star walks into a black hole but doesn't seen phased. The black hole then turns to the star and says, "I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation."
15:29 Ok Counterpoint The reason the tension scene is no longer a tension scene, is because the player's decision lead to that outcome Let the scene not be a tension scene Let the player's actions have meaning Don't Schrodinger's scenario shit
Yeah I’m glad someone else noticed how weird felt when Blaine kept critiquing the video. It felt more like an attack on creativity than advice. It’s improv for a reason. Even though he said “I’m putting on the 🤓 face to umactually this” the jokes didn’t land. :/
I want to point the the channel "stabbyness" who did a very similar thing allowing chat to decinde the character and waht they do. its not D&D but its a very easy ruleset to follow. maybe worth looking at some time
Yeah the problem for any one time or limited use abilities is that Chat will always end up screaming that they need to save it for later so it most of the time doesn’t get used
You should have paused when talking. It sometimes feels like you're missing out on the most important things for talking over it. Like showing a friend a really cool video but they don't pay attention. A really cool two hour video
The lore of Doug states his Chair is the main streamer, whenever Doug is in frame he is the nerd friend and chat is the protagonist. The time staff was always the name the player was just confused on the spice pun. We were all 1 hit kills And the voices are part of the program example if you put drunk: it will pick randomly from the list. Ps the windows noise is a punishment for loosing chats stream award in a bet last year
I played a Locathah who was wearing a wooden bucket filled with water as armour. he wore the lid of the bucket as a helmet and could withdraw into it like a Tortle. He had disadvantage on things like dex saving and acrobatics because of his fear of spilling the water, and if he was knocked down he'd obviously panic and run to the nearest water source to refill.
7:30 per your comments on Doug and his over reliance on chat, i feel like that's most of his content tbh, or at least it comes off that way. Like i love his content, but there's a reason one of the memes of the channel is that chat is the main character (along with Doug's friend Parkzer, but he's not in the video so). I will say, Doug seems to try and have ideas for chat (and sometimes ChatGPT) to go off of, so he'll do the foundations and let his chat work with it how they want to (which sometimes goes against how he wants it to lol)
16:03 Mabye you could add in some kind of super goblin that your team and the enemy in this case the geese to still add a challenge without removing their desicion
19:42 If I had a nickel for everytime a friendly character in a DnD campaign with DougDoug betrayed the players at the end, I'd have 10 cents. Which isn't very much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Another channel I watch, One Shot Questers, used Doug’s system to select chat members to battle against enemies controlled by ChatGPT who acted as the DM.
Doug doug viewer/chatter here. The reason why the chair is loved by us is because the chair is more entertaining than dougdoug (this is a joke btw we do watch the stream because of him even tho when we call him bald and names)
If I had a nickel for every time a side character that traveled with the party in a dougdoug d&d game turned out to be evil I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
When games like these have looser rules, things get chaotic pretty fast. I remember an old game a few people and I came up with back in middle school, which ended up just being called “Kingdoms of the World”. It was a fun game, but horribly balanced. While I was one of the five founders of the game, and therefore was involved in rule-making, some of my balance ideas were shot down (need a simple majority in the “High Council”, as we called it, to add or remove rules). Because of that, I ended up forming a horribly broken nation for the sole purpose of enforcing game balance by exploiting the game systems as much as possible. Ah, my good old United North American Federation. An unstoppable, invincible arms dealer of a nation that helped push some balance changes through the council. Became the strongest nation in two days when everyone had a two week head start. Hell, I still have the early drafts for the rule sheets, and can recall pretty much the entire game. The game went on for the better part of two years, so I guess I’d be more surprised if I forgot it.
Using Spheres of Power, you can play literally any creature you can imagine, scaled down by character level, with just one feat (which, incidentally, is gotten for free as a human, without a bunch of racial traits muddying the waters). And you can have a freely defined familiar with the Conjuration sphere. So yes, your friend could have played a bear with a human companion. To be honest, the guy sounds like he was just wanting to do "LoL sO rAnDoM." But still, easily done.
I’m sorry if my previous comment was misunderstood. In the stream vod Doug said this was supposed to be one of his worst streams for the year because he came into it with 0 plans and 0 assets, just an idea, to steal from his twitch chat, oooooooo. I doubt it was supposed to be a commentary on “The DM who plans nothing for the next session” but it’s fairly fitting. Worked out in this case though.
I prefer the second game because I saw it first and made me laugh uncontrollably, which is the thing I appreciate the most out of any entertainment. The original was funny and interesting too, but... The amount of whacky stupid shit that chat has done. I can never not laugh when thinking about chair wildshape. It's not even shapeshift, it's wildshape LMAO
Well even if it was you'd still need a card to pay for it lol Unless I haven't seen the customer side of the website in a while and my store offers prepaid cards 💀
Either way probably not for awhile. Backerkit does a great job at hosting the products and we'll probably keep with them until the first pre-order shipment
@@enderwolfthegamingweeb9752 ah definitely get that lol. Not an easy solution but I know PayPal has credit cards? Not an optimal solution but it’s something lmfao
