I Played Minecraft on a CHEAP Chromebook for 100 Days This is What Happened

Just playing on a Laptop without a detached mouse is enough to make me quit gaming. Your perseverance is very Notable and amazed me.

I'll never forget the day I saw a guy set up an afk obsidian farm in class. He built the contraption, placed an eraser on the mining key, and closed his chrome book. This was Spanish class

I enjoy how Tors is very supportive of Luke even when he fails at using his controls. This is the type of person we need in our lives. Be like Tors.

As an avid Chromebook user, I can confirm that asking it to do what you need it to do definitely helps it work when it gets laggy. It might just be a patience thing but sometimes all you need is to say “You WILL work” or “Please loaddddd…” and it does what you need it to. Then again, I have never tried Minecraft on it, so I can’t imagine this level of pain and suffering.

Luke, after me playing minecraft on a Chromebook for years before I got a proper gaming setup, I can say I'm very impressed with your track pad skills in so little time

The mouse input lag is part of a bug on Bedrock where the mouse lags behind when vsync is on. Just one problem: There is not way ingame to turn off vsync! You need to turn off vsync by editing the options file or use a resource pack (they can edit menus on bedrock) to add a vsync toggle

When I was in high school we did everything with Chromebooks that you got to take home and use as “yours” for 4 years. I remember in my last year playing minecraft on my Chromebooks but it wasn’t as easy as just buying a new minecraft and had to do an elaborate sketchy download and setup to play it on literally 4 FPS with my friends and it hurt so bad. So watching you do this and feeling the pain soothes my everlasting trauma with the laggiest computer you can buy while also being stupidly expensive . ❤❤

As a guy who uses a trackpad exclusively, it's quite funny to see Luke fail in what some trackpad players have mastered for years

I truly felt your pain during this video. I tried to play MineCraft on my *very* outdated computer that’s at least 10yrs old…the resulting experience was similar to yours. I did have a wired mouse but the completely random lag/delay made it horrible. Had the lag been consistent so I could learn the timing of delays it MIGHT have been playable. But randomly swapping between working w/o delay, a small delay & massive delays…it was impossible to play survival. Even exploring or building on peaceful mode was impossible to do without dying. So going to just stick with playing MineCraft on my Nintendo Switch until I have the money & can justify spending it on a new or used gaming PC. Just sucks as I really want to play mod packs. I have an Xbox I could set up to play minecraft on…likely will soon. Just haven’t got to it since doing some home repairs/renovations. But still can’t play modpacks on Xbox which is bedrock like you can on Java. But thanks for answering the question of if a cheap laptop would run Minecraft better than my old P.C.!

I remember in 6th grade someone discovered how to play Minecraft education on our apparently $80 chromebooks and many people had impressive builds and “legitimate” netherite armor however eventually the school caught wind of this and banned it because my school is terrible

I hate to demean the struggle you had with that trackpad and the lag, but I’ve been playing minecraft with a trackpad for most of my life, and it’s not that bad. It has usually been on a Mac (at one point a really bad one) but still better than a chromebook. I can understand switching to it after a while being difficult but dont knock it til ya try it 🙃

Chromebooks are usually filled with bloatware and the setup on them can be really cumbersome if you want to use the Chromebook for yourself and make it a bit better there are a few videos that can help make it a lot nicer of an experience Plus adding storage and maybe upgrading some of the stuff on it will make it a good laptop for when you are on the move or on a holiday somewhere just saying Great video as always Thank you for this tho I hope the next will be less torturous for you to make

4:21 Just a tip here, on iPhone, if your video comes out the wrong orientation (not sure if you already know this but just in case, I’ll explain in full detail) just select a video and press “edit” at the top right corner and once your there, on the bottom right, you’ll see a square with arrows around the sides, select that and then go over to the top the left where you’ll see a symbol that looks like a square with one arrow, press that and the photo/video will rotate, keep pressing that until you get your preferred orientation and then press “done” on the top right.

I do play with a track pad usually but mine is actually a lot better than...that, and it's an actual gaming laptop. I do admire you for this, as I would not ever purchase a chromebook, ever.

Probably had a bit too much to drink tonight but I saw a halo video just now and it reminded me of your older videos. Halo is the reason I started watching your videos. Don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoy the new content more than the old stuff but man does that nostalgia not hit hard…

I had to work with chromebooks for a while and i know the agony of them. Also for right clicking, a trick you can do i think is tapping the track pad with 2 fingers at once if i remember correctly

As someone who plays minecraft on a surface pro with the track pad, I feel the pain. trying to play with a mouse feels so strange I don't mind it too much anymore, i've gotten used to it for sure. my only regret is not being able to pillar upwards like most other players lmao
