@@aguyontheinternet8436At some weights you can't really get out of the walking jab. Fox is one of those characters. Doesn't matter if you're a random player or light it's rough and you can get cheesed.
"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" Thank God Riddles wasn't consumed and saw the Terry at the end of the tunnel.
It's a double edged sword: if to many top players pick Steve it will probably get him banned, but if everyone plays Steve then the Steve counterplay meta could get developed to a point where Steve wouldn't be considered as viable.
@@sebastianandres6802 Yeah cause thats what happened with bayo lmao. If anything so many top players will pick him up that they can't ban steve anymore
@@sebastianandres6802 not gonna happen. This game isn't developing any more meta there's nothing to discover the devs never made this game to be competitive so why waste time and money to properly balance you know? Tbh is there even real counterplay in this game? Something that isn't situation based?
Yeah.. I tried Steve as well for the first time for a whole day and I wasn't on the train that Steve is *that* op but after just toying with him he's really..really dumb, he does too much too easily is the problem. Like if the stuff he did was legit hard it would be fine, or more fine. I main Seph so I never had much of a problem against him.
I have beaten Steve in a one vs one tournament online with bowser jr and my final opponent was an incenoroar either he would get beaten by Steve or me. The tournament had only two stocks and my opponent got diamond picaxe on his last stock and I still beat him.
Steve is no way the easiest in the game, Pyra/Mythra you can just mash unpunished where Steve you need to mash AND mine. Two braincells instead of one.
If they just made it so Steve could only place blocks on the ground he’d be so much less broken and more accurate to the game. If he’s in smash 6 whenever they comes out I hope that’s a change they’ll make along with some other stuff
Yeah like what if you could only place blocks offstage if you made some sort of bridge of blocks that start at the stage and go to the block limit, so you can’t just place a block anywhere and make it more canonically accurate
Tbf, a player as good as Riddles could pick up literally any character and dust people on unranked, this isn't unique to Steve. Especially with the low skill ceiling of many characters, "Steve is easy" isn't really an argument.
Steve is such an interesting character to me (not sarcasm). He’s got a lot of technical stuff that you need to know to be good, but the moment you know that technical stuff, his game plan becomes the most simple and glue-eating strategy in the game. Fascinating how that worked out I hate to say it…but it makes me wanna play steve
I’ve been a Steve main since he came out and I’ve had so much fun playing him. He does have some bullshit but the more technical stuff like NIL’s and TBC is so cool to pull off. broken character tho.
The only reason I main Steve is because I got smash about a month before he was revealed so the only character from a game that I played was just Mario and Link and I wanted to play another character from a game I enjoyed so I got Steve.
Now you know how tekken players feel when leroy came out in season 3, best character in the game by far a tier of his own, it's basically a boss character, and super easy 6 Leroy in top 8 EVO japan btw, Knee and arslan beat by a random leroy. And the winner of this EVO : BOOK said at the end "Just pick leroy" he was a jin main.
Good idea but if he does it, in my opinion, that's not the Riddles that I know. Riddles without Kazuya and Terry is an another Riddles. That's makes me sad just thinking about...
@@VincentNRV lol yeah completely understandable, I wouldn’t want him to change it either. I just thought it would be funny if he did it for just one video 😂
I legitimately hope they do. I'm sick of pros with these whack ass takes but no one wants to capitalize on it. "X is SS tier and needs banned" is a much more valid argument if they swap and produce results.
@@austinroccaro2219 I've seen top players just let Steve get a diamond before, I think we should let people learn counterplay develop, people in Japan are even asking why westerners aren't using Steve counterplay lol.
@Joshua Suh He’s been out for two years and only now he’s dominating tournaments??? I don’t remember hearing about steve dominating tournaments before then. Also I’m pretty sure MKleo said that he himself didn’t know the matchup.
Well I mean, I thought it was a Tekken joke, so like steve fox, but well, it's real. You got me into terry, but like, everyone drops their characters for steve, so I guess I will leave Terry for steve. Give it a shot
