Join the discord! discord.gg/EstVM7nRgR This was a fun little video that I just wanted to experiment with. Have no fear, I am still hard at work on the Arena analysis, which is shaping up to be over 2 hours long and so so so much better written and deeper than I ever got with the Daggerfall video.
@GreenTea💚 piracy and homebrew gives it a new, alternate life, its still got a lot of great games and ports like Ninja Gaiden. Short of getting a high end android gaming machine, it's the best way to play retro games via emulation on the go.
yeah it's sad how it was treated by Sony, I loved it. And it's true that with emulation it's just amazing. Mine actually died not long ago, I should try to repair it or just get a new one. I got a steam deck in the meantime but it's not the same... it's too big lol.
@@noots_central1082 considering you can play all the psp games on it with a second analog stick, yeah it does. I do love the PSP though. It's crazy the graphics it was doing back in the day, the games still look great.
Love the "kill me master" noises your Vita Does at first. And realistically, I expect a speedrunner community growing on Daggerfall Vita Runs, thanks to your video. Some people needs suffering just to feel something.
I truly hope that someday we will see Daggerfall Unity ported over the the Vita and 3DS. I don't think anybody is putting any effort into it, but I really think it could be possible. The Vita absolutely has enough power for a proper port of Daggerfall. The original 3DS probably doesn't, but I think the New 3DS absolutely could. Especially since the New 3DS has native Unity support. I could imagine the combination of Daggerfall Unity's overhauled controls with the original interface being touch controlled on the bottom screen as the best possible way to play the game on the go. I would kill to play Daggerfall Unity at a good 24-30 FPS on 3DS. I don't think anybody is ever going to take up a project like that though.
If I remember correctly overclocking is safe on the ps vita because 500 was originally intended not 333, it just murdered the battery life so sony underclocked it.
The VITA aims the best handheld , I own a switch and a steam deck , this thing is a true handheld , it fits in your pocket and it’s battery life is awesome
Impressive! I wonder what the bottleneck is, though. I thought for sure the Vita would be more powerful in every way compared to the computers of Daggerfall's era, but maybe I'm wrong.
Definitely DosBox is the limiting factor. It isn’t using the full power of the Vita - I mean, it ran Borderlands 2 (at 20fps), so it can certainly run this.
dont know anything about the emulator you are using, but i saw that you tried running arena at 3000 cycles, which for that and daggerfall is incredibly low, cant you increase that like you can with dosbox? i remember running daggerfall at around 50,000 cycles and battlespire at 300,000
Yeah, unfortunetly, running anyting above 4000 cycles tanks the Vita. It seems that the emulator cannot use the Vita's CPU efficiently, which is a shame.
Is there any way to get Daggerfall Unity on Mobile? I successfully natively emulated Morrowind on my LogicTech G Cloud (Android device) with mods enabled. I would really love to get my hands on Daggerfall Unity specifically. Or, i guess the dos version woukd be serviceable too. I guess.
I used this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-312ooVtXAMM.html It's pretty time conuming, and you have to buy that SD card thing, but it's worth it for me. I have all the PSP and Vita game I could want all on the one card.
@@Jwlar oh forget about it I’d never be able to do this. My father is almost 68 and I call him for computer advise, than again he was in the computer business since the late 80s doing graphic design but working on soft ware also. Yeah I followed in his foot steps and went to art school with a degree in graphic arts I passed with a 3.8 and graduated but music was always my forte. Being in dyslexic I can’t read music and play by ear so I’m stuck in my own private hell loving pc gaming not being good at PCs having a degree in bad at and having a passion and talent for 10 instruments I play I can’t use. Sorry for the story lol just pissed I can’t get it to work on my deck!
You can play with just the mouse (right analogue) and the WASD (left analogue) and then using X and O for left and right click and ▣ for spacebar. It works, but it isn't ideal. Would've been somewhat playable with a higher FPS I think.
