I'm pentacostal, and it always fills my heart with joy when someone gets to experience the same gift that the apostles experienced in Acts 🤍🙏🙌🤍🙏🙌🤍🙏

I had a similar testimony! I sat alone with the Lord and while in prayer I asked the Holy Spirit to speak through me, and when I did, I started speaking a language I didn't understand, and I knew it was the Holy Spirit giving me utterance. Eversince, I've been able to pray in tongues whenever I was in prayer, and singing in worship. Praise the Lord for sending us His Helper!

I started praying in tongues recently after being jaded about it for some years since I became born-again...it builds you up and empowers us to speak in tongues 🗣💪🏾🙌🏽

I never asked God..to give me....But, while I was praying , I suddenly started praying in tongue....just like you..

I pray in tongues privately. It's empowering to your physical health as well as your Godly perspective in the moment. What a gift from the Lord Jesus it is.

My baptism of the Holy Spirit experience was similar, in my regular quiet time at night one day I was just sitting in my bed praying to the Lord like usually and trying to be still, I was praising Him in my prayer and just felt the Holy Spirit overwhelmed me and I felt this anointing almost like a fire being lit in my chest and I started speaking in tongues, I will never forget it

I remember I used to be so scared of speaking in tongues because I was afraid of not being in control of myself and growing up in a pentecostal church, I was used to people going crazy lol But I received the gift of tongues a few years ago and it's now something I do on the daily! This is true , sometimes I begin speaking in tongues first because God is starting to reveal his secrets , then i begin to intercede. The bible declares likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

When I pray with my friends we would pray before we went to bed , we eat a bunch of food before, and we were praying for 15 minutes then he started speaking tongue's, he went in for 5 Minutes, and I was worried about him(I didn't know about it back then) I tapped him and he ignored me. I thought he was posesed I prayed for him then I started understanding what he was saying. We both fell down after 1 hour of praying and started crying. I wasn't even bapatized. I got bapitazed that week.

Your so right about just being able to start and stop when you want. My husband and I both speak in tongues and he has the gift of interpretation of the tongues. There is no great drama or bawling out your eyes in church for you to do it. You just feel built up after you do it, or ideas come to your mind, people who you should meet you end up meeting. İt's like you have limits when speaking to God in English but when you let the spirit speaks he knows exactly what to pray for and pray about. For example you may think you need to get a certain job and your praying and begging God in English to give you the job. But the Holy spirit knows that that's not the right job for you. So the spirit knows best what to pray for. You can also have many different sounding tongues too. İ can watch tv and be praying in tongues, because the brain isn't engaged. You don't know what your saying, the spirit takes over

Can someone explain what exactly speaking in tongues is?

Can you share where the Bible says it’s for every believer? My understanding of the Bible says all do not speak in tongues. It seems to me that he wishes all could speak in tongues because not all can?

It just happened to me. I don't pray in tongues often but if I ever get really deep in prayer, occasionally the Holy Spirit will intercede and I will speak in tongues.

I gave my life to Jesus in Feb. 2017 and Jesus completely changed my life! I am a pk as well! Being raised in a Pentecostal church, I knew about speaking in tounges and that all you have to do is ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. So, That night in 2017 that I got saved I asked God to fill me with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tounges, and He did! It definitely has added so much to my prayer life! From that day on, God has also given me a new appetite. I got rid of my old music and old shows. On top of that, God delivered me from depression and gave me a new joy! I also just want to thank you for talking about this, I believe it is something the church really needs to preach on more often and many Christians/ the church is drifting away from Speaking in tounges in church. I believe every Christian should be filled with the Holy Spirit and it is a free gift to every believer!

Question so it is written that you will receive the holy spirit when you become saved right but what's the difference between the spirit of God abiding with you and in you? Because also in the Bible it says that ask and you shall receive referring to the holy Spirit if one asks God for the gift of his spirit? Cuz I've noticed how the church is so cold and no fruit. Cuz if you have the holy Spirit you'll have fruits of the spirit correct or like a transformation and I just need more clarity on this I've been praying about it and I'm just kind of confused. Because if everybody has the holy spirit that says they they believe like people say then why would God tell us to ask for the gift of the holy Spirit if we want it? Or seek and we shall find? Great video and yes speaking in tongues is biblical. It's not demonic possession and no one is being deceived. When we speak in tongues, the devil doesn't understand what you are praying. It's between you and God. I know this is a controversial topic and not everyone agrees on this but it doesn't matter. Jesus promised to send the advocate in John 14:26. He promised to send the comforter and they were baptized in the Holy Spirit in the upper room.

I hear and read that it's a gift but I don't understand it. How does one end up doing it randomly and then all of a sudden know how to do it all the time? It's something I've never really understood.

The reason you can think like normal at the same time your speaking in tongues is because though your speaking through your mouth the prayer is coming from your spirit that is literally the spirit praying through you using your mouth. Try to speak in tongues in your mind and notice how you cannot speak in tongues with your mind but only when you open your mouth and allow the spirit to pray its a beautiful and fearful thing and the enemy did not want me to send this I have had alot of technical issues with my phone all the sudden while sending this! Ive spoke in tongues for years now and for 2 hours a day minimum and i always feel refreshed and bigger on the inside and closer to God and safer spiritually and I even look prettier the more I speak in tongues its the least of the gifts but my goodness does it have so many benefits! Sometimes after long hours of praying in the spirit I cannot even stand on my feet because his presence is so strong its a beautiful thing and it causes me to move into his will from whatever place I am in it doesn't matter God is merciful he gave me this gift in 2015 I was very close with him at this time and speaking in treatment centers all over my State and I got into a bad relationship and took my eyes off Jesus and fell back into drugs and God did not take the gift from me in fact he encouraged me to use it more. I kept trying to leave this abusive toxic relationship and I couldn't because I kept going back and finally I cried out to God and I heard him say DO YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU? and I thought about the relationship and how I would have to let it go and I said yes God and suddenly tongues came pouring from my mouth like water for days and I became strong enough it was so beautiful God is nothing like the world and his ways are nothing like the worlds he is a good and merciful God I love you brothers and sisters see you on the up and up❤

I just don't see how St.Paul saying that he wishes for all to speak in tongues is the same as saying that everyone is given the gift of tongues. "And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?" 1 Corinthians 12:28‭-‬30 ESV These seem to be rhetorical questions for which the answer is no. The most obvious one being the one about apostles. Not everyone is an apostle and similarly not everyone can speak in tongues. Let me know if u think I'm missing something. God bless

When I pray in tongues I yield my tongues to the Holy Spirit. I ask the Holy Spirit for interpretation if he needs to reveal anything to me.

I think speaking of tongues is very interesting and can/still does happen today. All though I never have spoke in tongues before I think it’s a really cool gift God has blessed certain people with!!😁 There’s also some very interesting conversations about speaking in tongues to, but I can’t quite put them in the best explanation right now🙃 Thanks for sharing!!😁❤️

I don't have tongues and dont need them. They are just simply one of the spritiual gifts of many. Don't take scripture out of context! Not all receive tongues as the Bible clearly states.

I believe that the gifts are still in operation today and can happen. But I don’t believe in the Pentecostal version of speaking in tongues. I had an experience once where I went to the front of the church highly sceptical, a pastor hands on me and said that I’m going to fill a burning in my stomach. I said to God that I refuse to speak in tongues unless it comes from him and he makes me. As the past I prayed I felt that burning in my stomach and was shocked. My arms were outstretched and I felt like lightning was going through my arms and the bottom of my legs. I started blurting out tongues and it felt like I had no control. It was definitely a supernatural experience. When something like that happens, I can affirm a supernatural experience. But that never happened to me again. Simply speaking out noises ourselves, which we are in control of and making those noises, I don’t believe is the biblical tongues. I did just start speaking it out myself for a period of time, but it didn’t sit with me well, and I realised that was just me making the noises and going along with the crowd around me who also was just making noises. We can make a lot of things happen ourselves in terms of experiences. If it’s from God we won’t have to prompt ourselves to start talking in tongues. He will do it.

100% sister! I prayed for this for like 2 years. I asked the Lord to give me this when I was alone so that I wouldn't have anxiety around people in church. One day in prayer, like you said, it was the same for me. I didn't have a mega feeling overcome me except for the gratitude I was expressing out loud in prayer before I was filled. I heard God say, let it go and speak! This is it... So I trusted His word and started speaking it out load. It was so neat! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🙌🏻🙏🙌🏻 that was in 2010. 💝🙏🙌🏻 God has really blessed me with it ever since! I can totally see times the Lord showed me I prayed for "this" or "that" in the spirit. He shows me when He helped me pray for certain things later on. 🙌🏻🙏🙌🏻

Something else God told me about speaking in tongues is that one person can speak something in his or her tongues and different people that hear it hear different things. Because so much is being said in even just a little utterance. İt's not like English or earthly language that has limits and one interpretation. Just remember, the interpretations won't contradict scripture

So, can someone explain this tongues thing to me please. I believe it's true, but when I hear folks do it, I can't understand them. I tried to do it, but realized I was making up words to try it out. How does this work, what is it's purpose, and are the tongues a human language or an angelic one? I still don't get it. i had it happen about 3 times in my life , i cant listen to most heavy metal at all , but ozzy and zeppelin dont bother me they have a blessed talent like alot of older bands its mainly the newer groups that scare me even there voices sound evil ... and tv shows are so dark these days , i never spoke tongues , i just pray , but its more knowing feeling god and my dreams i get visions

this has been my experience to a tee!!! I always get so encouraged when I hear a testimony is similar to mine. . . it's just so hard to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it and people are fearful and just don't understand the benefits that tongues have. Keep preachin it girl!!

I have always been open to speaking in tongues, but I have never embraced it being normative, and I have rejected the notion that it is required in order to truly be a Christian or to actually have the Spirit. I appreciate the fact that you don’t endorse it being a requirement of salvation. I will receive the gift if offered, but I will also be content if I am not offered it and acts in other ways in my life. Paul said in 1.Corinthians 14 that if someone speaks in tongues only the spirit prays and not the mind And er should pray with spirit and mind And he also says if we are speaking in tongues no one can understand us and that is not good

Who are you praying to? Does He not speak and understand all languages? I am just seriously curious on the need to pray to the one who created all things in an unknown language. I still believe in the gifts of the Spirit, but they were given for purpose. The tongues that were spoken at Pentecost were known languages.

I appreciate your content 😍 but I have some thoughts about ALL believers with the Mark passage. Below is info not from my own brain but is more along my understanding. An important rule in biblical interpretation is, “always follow the pronouns.” Notice that it says “he who has believed” will be saved and “he who has not believed” will be condemned. The pronoun is the singular “he.” Every single person who believes will be saved. Every single person who does not believe will be condemned. (WHICH YOU DO SEEM TO SAY IN YOUR VID, THANK YOU) ♥️ BUT WHERE WE DISAGREE A LITTLE: When we get to verses 17-18, however, the pronouns change. It does not continue by saying “these signs will accompany him who has believed,” as one would expect if we were still talking about every single individual. It changes to “these signs will accompany those who have believed.” It proceeds to note that THEY will do these various things. The grammar shifts from talking about the individual believer (“he who has believed”) to the group of all believers (“those who have believed”). The passage is not saying that these signs will accompany every single individual believer. It is saying that such signs would ACCOMPANY believers as a whole. As we read through the rest of the New Testament, that is exactly what we see: various confirming signs like these happening among various believers at various times. For example, we see: some believers casting out demons (Acts 5:16, 8:7, 16:16-18, 19:11-12) some believers speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6, 1 Corinthians 12:10, 12:28) believers laying hands on the sick and healing them (Acts 9:17, 28:8) one believer bit by a snake and not harmed (Acts 28:3-5) So believers, as a group, certainly exhibited these various signs, which is precisely what Mark 16 said would happen. None of this implies that every believer performed such miracles. If anything, the very fact that each of these stories was so noteworthy implies that such things were not universal to every believer. The fact that believers brought the sick to the apostles to receive healing, for example, seems to indicate that such believers were not healing the sick by laying their own hands on them. ------ Anyone else NOT speak in tongues? I mean God could allow us all to experience this gift, but my gift has usually been more in prophesy (which is NOT future telling, as some people think, and is a little diff than the biblical prophets). It's more about my words being spoken being inspired by God, in a way. Still trying to understand it. And I sing worship songs and love that more than ANYTHING. But no tongues and I DON'T think every believer will be gifted that way.

Many believers don’t follow the words of Jesus. Jesus appeared to over 500 believers before He ascended on high and gave command to all of them to not leave Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father, but only 120 believers were found waiting in the upper room. The same for today. Few believers follow the words of Jesus concerning this baptism.

What Language is Speaking in Tongues Really...The Lauguage of Heaven?

It’s a controversial topic in the body of Christ in these last decades. Wether speaking in tounge’s is allowed or not , when someone is doing it , i would suggest them do it alone in a personal intimate way with God only. When people speak in tounge’s publicly there has to be a translator like (1 Corinthians 14:27) declares , problem is most people out here can’t understand and don’t translate as the bible commands. The baptism of the Holy Spirit happens at the moment of someone’s conversion, the Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation (2 Corinthians 1:21-23 || Ephesians 1:13) . Salvation takes place the moment, the baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place and that happens at the moment someone confesses Jesus as Lord and believes in Him , he is saved immediately (Romans 10:9) and God is going to start the good work in them.

There are three main sources of religious energy which are the Holy Spirit, kingdom of darkness religious spirits, and human soul power. During times of no outpouring of the Holy Spirit (as in this day and time) it is extremely rare and difficult to find someone speaking by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, but it is commonplace for religious people to have the anointing of a religious spirit, and/or to run on soul power. The religious spirits are the highest echelon of warrior demons in the kingdom of darkness hierarchy who are groomed by kingdom of darkness overlords (aka fallen angels/principalities) to know how to mimic the Holy Spirit. Religious spirits and religious soul power seek to mimic the Holy Spirit, and sometimes they can be very convincing with their 'Do-Gooder' persona, their sanctimonious posture of perfection, their mock authority, and their busy 'good works' agendas. The ploy has mostly to do with manipulation and control of the humans who allow themselves to be used by religious spirits as human mouthpieces, and manipulation and control of their followers (especially that). Sometimes soul power can be a good thing, as in construction trades, mechanical trades, sports, music, art, chess, math, science, engineering, higher learning, anything that requires special talent and ability. But religious soul power is pretty much always exploited by kingdom of darkness religious spirits, the reason being that the Lord requires for Christians to wait for him to give them the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and if he doesn't give it to them, for them to do nothing ministry-wise until he does. But if they go ahead anyway and launch out in presumption and start relying on soul power, they give automatic rights to the kingdom of darkness overlords to lade them with a religious spirit, which is what is going on with practically all of these RU-vid religionists who are being driven by the religious spirits operating through them to be obsessed to post their spiritually worthless videos. One thing these RU-vid religionists fail to consider is that because they refused to wait on the Lord to give them the anointing of the Holy Spirit, but went ahead doing their own thing in his name anyway, that when the end-time outpouring of the Holy Spirit comes they'll be left out of it because they have their reward now with their fifteen minutes of fame. That's exactly what happened to the televangelists and the system church priestclass who emulated them (so-called 'pastors') during the mid-90's outpouring of the Holy Spirit (what became known as "The Toronto Outpouring of the Holy Spirit"). Then when they realized that they were left out of it they got jealous and bitter and vilified it, with many of them blaspheming the Holy Spirit by saying the outpouring was "Of the devil." RU-vid was actually concocted by the kingdom of darkness overlords as a forum for religious spirits to manifest through human mouthpieces for the purpose of making a parody of prophetic ministry (and of Christianity in general), and for the purpose of controlling millions of Christians, and it is working famously well for them. In their esteem, everything else on RU-vid is just worldly fluff, but which is useful to them because it helps to legitimize RU-vid. Their highest priority agenda is to use RU-vid to acclimate Christians to false prophetic ministry, because they know that during times of no outpouring of the Holy Spirit (as in this day and time) that the Lord keeps the true prophets hidden, and that when the end-time outpouring of the Holy Spirit arrives (which I think is going to be fairly soon) he will bring them out of hiding and anoint them with Holy Spirit power. That is exactly what happened during the mid-90's outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And the kingdom of darkness overlords remember it, so it is of utmost importance to them to acclimate Christians to false prophetic ministry now so that when the end-time outpouring of the Holy Spirit comes they won't be able to relate to it, and they'll distrust the Lord's prophets, and will be afraid of them, and will call them false prophets, especially when they hear their messages which will be so totally opposite of the sweetsie-sweet and nicie-nice 'prophecies' they've been being weaned on for years and years, most of which major on the elementary principles of Christianity which the Holy Spirit said not to be doing (see Hebrews 6:1-3 in the King James Version). As a side note, religious soul power sometimes drifts over into witchcraft which is also always exploited by religious spirits. Psychic phenomenon can be a form of witchcraft (alsoTarot cards, 'law of attraction,' palm reading, numerology, mind over matter phenomenon, etc.). Simon Magus of Acts 8:9-24 is an example of that. There are many so-called 'pastors' and other ministers who employ witchcraft control to compensate for their own spiritual powerlessness. Many music ministers and worship teams rely on witchcraft spirits and witchcraft methods to empower them. The story about the Philippian girl of Acts chapter 16 (beginning with verse 16) is an example of how a religious spirit manifests through a human mouthpiece, as in what is going on with these RU-vid religionists (i.e. teachers, so-called 'prophets,' and other assorted self-appointed 'Do-Gooders' who are doing their own thing in the Lord's name, some of whom are making a lot of money doing it). Bear in mind that everything the Philippian girl said was 100% correct, and was 100% the truth. But also bear in mind that it was a religious spirit speaking through her, the same as what is going on with these RU-vid religionists. As another side note, politics is actually a lot of people's religion, and politicians and their followers are often targeted by religious spirits. There are a lot of spiritually defunct false teachers and false prophets who have no anointing of the Holy Spirit whatsoever whose credibility is dependent on their ranting about politics. RU-vid is awash with them. Since they have nothing of spiritual value to say, if they didn't rant about politics, nobody would pay much attention to anything they have to say. In Mark 8:15 the Lord told his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod. As I understand it, the leaven of the Pharisees has to do with soul power religion that is devoid of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and the leaven of Herod has to do with politics, both of which have all to do with control (kingdom of darkness control). In Ephesians 6:12 in the King James Version the Holy Spirit speaking through the Apostle Paul revealed that the fallen angels run the world system (which is why the world is so messed up). In that verse Paul referred to the fallen angels as 'principalities.' As another side note, whenever someone gives rights to the kingdom of darkness overlords to lade them with a religious spirit, they will also lade them with a deaf, dumb, and blind spirit (per Psalm 115:5-8 in the King James Version), after which they will be unable to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to them, they will be unable to speak by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and they will be unable to receive spiritual truth (they will have no spiritual discernment). I always try to remember to advise Christians to start praying and asking the Lord to give them the gift of discerning of spirits (the Holy Spirit speaking through the Apostle Paul made mention of the gift of discerning of spirits in 1 Corinthians 12:10 in the King James Version). I also always try to remember to advise Christians to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit (evidenced by speaking in tongues). I also always try to remember to advise Christians to never watch religious RU-vid videos, for obvious reasons (obvious to me at least). If you decide to look up the accounts of Simon Magus and the Philippian girl, I suggest that you read those sections of scripture in the King James Version.
